  1. Next to IKEA, Revell has absolutely the best spare parts replacement policy I have ever come across. I wrote them, in need of a few new parts which I broke customizing... Since it was my own mistake I could no longer use the parts originally purchased with the model, I emailed the Revell German office with an inquiry if I could buy specific replacements only directly from them. They asked me to send them my address, and I received the exact requested parts several weeks later, without any kind of charge (not even shipping). Very impressive service, which additionally inspires me to buy their fantastic product evermore
  2. Since I haven't contributed with my builds on the forum as of yet, I would at least like to contribute here as I have had nothing but great experiences trading with the following members (in alphabetical order): Ace-Garageguy (Bill Engwer) - very helpful trader, added extra parts into the package which I should receive any day now. KevinMoparFord (Kevin Wallenhorst) - very dependable trader, prompt on transatlantic shipping. Matt T. (Matt Trotta) - very kindly sent me required parts across the ocean for nothing in return. I can certainly recommend trading with these gentlemen, and would gladly do it again/return the favor myself. Just traded for three kits and some wheels with RodneyBad (R. Badger)... He is a very reliable and generous trader. In fact, his nick should be changed to RodneyGood Had two great trades already with IMSANUT (Jim McCall) - very generous trader, perfect communication Traded with LAZLOW (L. Scarbrow) as well - his package reached me in record time, and on his first attempt shipping across the pond. Excellent trader, great communication! Finally, a relatively new member here, 421GTO, Simmon Webber from England, kindly sent me some smaller parts I was in desperate need for, without asking for anything in return I'd like to thank all! Perfect guys to deal with, in my book! New great traders on my list: PARTSMARTY (Marty Tyrka) - really lives up to his screen name... This man has it all! Perfect trader, great communication... Also, very generous DIMAXION (John Landgraver) - another very helpful trader, excellent communication... KENNYBOY (Ken Boyer) - same as the others above... Very swift trade I highly recommend ALL of the above! Thanks, guys! MATIJA
  3. Amazing work... Nice touch with the '59 Impala steering wheel
  4. Nice build. It certainly looks fresh, even after so many years
  5. Thanks everyone for a very warm welcome I am currently away from my home, for the next week or so, but as soon as I return I promise I will post some pics of my builds, maybe even start a new WiP.
  6. I agree with every word you wrote In that case, I would also very much like to pitch my humble vote for the Lusso. Heck, I'd buy two at least, along with the SWB and the GTO! And, since you've gone and done it now, I wholeheartedly support you in rooting for the BMW 2002 as well!
  7. My name is Matija and I live in Zagreb, Croatia. I've been lurking around the forum for a while now, so I figured it was time to formally introduce myself, as I've seen some others do so on here. My participation on the forum thus far only consisted of several successfully completed trades, as I'm still mustering confidence to actually show a model or two of mine, but hopefully I'll get a new build going one of these days In reality, I was kind of hoping that joining here will be my reincarnation as a modeller, forgetting all of my previous, inadequate builds, and taking it from where I stand at the moment. Anyway, my main point of this post was just to wish everyone happy modelling in 2013 and express gratitude for the existence of such an amazingly talented and helpful model car builders' community. I'm certainly glad to be part of it. Kind regards, MATIJA
  8. Did I pass judgement on anyone? In which part of my post? It certainly was not my intention to do so, but I sincerely apologize if I did. English is not my mother tongue so I might have not expressed myself adequately or appropriately enough, but telling me that I'm just blowing hot steam, so to speak, is borderline offensive on your behalf. And, if I must justify my opinions to you, I would firstly like to point out that I am not twelve years old and I base ALL of them on personal experience, in this case disappointment with Revell's announcement of certain Ferrari kits that never came out in the end. That said, I will refrain from further participation in this topic, and will do my best to proceed in a strictly matter of fact manner in my communications on this forum Thank you for your attention and very kind regards from Croatia. MATIJA
  9. Once again, thanks for all the info. I do have the Esci-Ertl SWB but that one is all wrong on so many levels, and an Italeri re-pop sure would have been nice Anyhow, let's hope we do see some of these older Ferrari cars on the market again... Reissues or new tools, doesn't matter to me, as long as they're available.
  10. I agree. Hobby Design has excellent aftermarket products for these cars, albeit somewhat costly, especially the wheels which often equal the price of the model-car itself.
  11. That's why they're called "opinions"... last time I checked, they were still allowed on this forum
  12. This is the box I was referring to: http://www.model-mania.uk.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2695 By "their kit", I meant their boxing of this kit. I apologize about the misunderstanding and thanks for the info on the SWB. Any further info as to whether there is a chance we ever will see it released? As for the GTO new tool, I reserve the right to remain skeptical until I see it on the shelves. It certainly would be great! Kind regards, MATIJA
  13. Hobby Design makes various large diameter Ferrari wheels in 1/24 scale. I'm sure you'd be able to find something for the California and Italia from their assortment.
  14. After looking over the pics, I have to be honest and say... What a great model! The only noticeable issue is slightly grainy paint, but that's it, everything else looks fine to me. Keep it up!
  15. I don't think it's a new tool either... just a reissue of their old kit, which is still available on ebay and various other places, BTW. Besides, I wouldn't get too excited about the reissue just yet either. In the beginning of 2012 they announced a reissue of the old Italeri tool 250 SWB (a much rarer model kit than the GTO) scheduled for summer, but several months later, without explanation, the announcement was withdrawn and the kit was never released
  16. So, did it happen? I slept in today and I think I might have missed it. Was it fun?
  17. The PartsBox of Australia now also offers the complete resin kit of the yellow interceptor... http://www.thepartsbox.com/ For some reason, I can't link the exact page with the kit... On the home page, click "resin kits and bodies", then the "XB" option... The yellow interceptor is the first car on the list (it's called "Aussie Police Pack")... Mad Max decals are also available separately, under "decals"... I have the aforementioned PlanetX issue of the kit. It does leave a lot to be desired, especially considering the price, but an experienced modeller can definitely make a nice scale replica out of it. I believe the PartsBox issue is based on the PlanetX car, but improved... At least in terms of wheels and tires, which are now separate pieces, unlike before when they were cast as one resin piece
  18. Awesome engine bay and sweet wheels I also quite like it without the rear bumper...
  19. This is one hell of a mutt
  20. I have this kit and I have all sorts of ideas for it... It will be interesting to see it as a targa top Quite unique, that's for sure.
  21. Amazing! The scariest moments in the movie are when she switches her lights on.
  22. The engine is sweet... Well deserved cover!
  23. Very nicely done. I've been looking into this kit. Any engine pics perhaps?
  24. You did a great job with what seems to be a terrible, old kit... I have it and I noticed that the hood and doors are warped and fit terribly, leaving gaping holes everywhere... I see ¸the situation with the door is the same in your case. One solution I have come up with thus far is displaying the model with the doors and hood open.
