Beautiful paint job on that one.

Went to IPMS Blizzcon today. Came home with a brand-new AMT El Camino SS, a bagged but complete MPC Dodge Daytona, and a bagged Revell Ford Focus that's missing the body. All for about $20. Not too shabby.

Apple Barrel acrylics
Deathgoblin replied to smhardesty's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use acrylics a lot for various things on my cars. Interiors, dash details, under hood details, you name it. I use a mix of the craft acrylics, Testor's Acryl line, and the Citadel Miniatures paints. -
AMT's Horizon TC3- Loser from the past, out of box!
Deathgoblin replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd really like to have one of these. I wish they'd release a regular Horizon or Omni as well, especially an Omni GLH. -

1.1 cars that got away
Deathgoblin replied to l88 chevelle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh, so many: My first, 1972 Buick Skylark Custom, 2dr hardtop. 350-2bbl, TH400 tranny (the original TH350 burned out) Ended up junking it because the frame rusted out. 1977 Olds Cutlass, 350 4bbl. Got to drive it 3 weeks after getting it goiing before it blew out both head gaskets. 1978 Monte Carlo, 305 2bbl. Drove it for a couple of years. Finally spun out about half the rod bearings. 1969 Dodge A100 van, 225 Slant 6 2bbl. Ran beautifully until someone spiked my gas tank. 1990 Crown Victoria, fuel-injected 5.0 litre. Was starting to wear out after driving it for several years, let the insurance take it after s stupid kid caved in one of the rear quarters. 1998 Cadillac Deville Concours, 4.3 litre Northstar. It was a Northstar. Heads cracked after it popped a water pump. Traded it in on my current Malibu. Yeah, they were rusty and crusty, but I miss every one. I'd take back the Volare if I could attack it with a sledgehammer. -
That's pretty wicked!

Sorry I've been missing out on the last few meetings. I finally got a permanent job,but my hours run 10:45am-7pm. I'll try to be at this coming meeting, and the nice thing is I have weekends off now.

I like what you're doing so far, Dan. I've got one of these in about the shape you said yours started in. I wonder why so many ended up like that?

Just got in two Polar Lights Mach 5 kits from Ebay. Got them for about $12 plus shipping. One was still shrink wrapped and new, and the other was unwrapped, but the parts were still in bags.

Someone needs to remake the AMC cars like this. I'd love to have the Ambassador and Marlin. Very nice.

Any opinions on the Monogram Countach?
Deathgoblin replied to oldcarfan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've got one that I built from a gluebomb. It's actually fairly detailed, especially the engine. It builds up nicely. The only part that I didn't care for is the way the body is split up. I ended up cutting the rear plate off the chassis and fitted it to the body to fill the gaps.
