I agree, is that the old 1/20th MPC kit, or the Accurate Miniatures kit? Either way, yes, it came out VERY nice!!!
-
Sorry, but I gotta agree with the Coyote. The grill looks like funny teeth. Doesn't really "Flow" with the lines of the car. The car IS sleek, but the grill just doesn't seem to match the cars lines. But hey bro, that's just my opinion, if YOU like it, well, THAT'S all that counts! But I tell ya that's one good lookin ride! I like it so far(with the exception of the grill)

Luis, Ma's Resin is owned by one of our members here. Alan Raab, to be exact. He DOES do custom orders for folks and he PROBABLY could do yours too. Only thing is, he's just one man, and he DOES have a real job. Try contacting him personally at; cnaind@ptd.net or at http//public.fotki.com/cnaind Tell him what your looking for, and hopefully he CAN fit your order in. He IS a very busy guy and it MIGHT take some time to get them, BUT IF he does it for you, you WILL be pleasantly surprised! caz muh Cuzzin AL's one of THE BEST!!! hope this helps!

Felix, there used to be a place here in Detroit that would use a fiberglass conversion kit to change a Pontiac Fiero into a Ferrari 308. I saw a coupla them and they SURE were nice! It was like havein a Ferrari at Pontiac prices! Your looks GREAT in white! I do get tired of Ferrari red. GREAT job!

Stripping Old Paint Off of Resin??

Gary, If Marc says the laquer thinner will work, I'd go for it. I trust his judgement on matters like this. -
Stripping Old Paint Off of Resin??
george 53 replied to impcon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
From the looks of it Gary, it is a TOTALLY resin cast model. And to be honest with you, it looks as bad as a R&R kit. It DOES look like you can rescue it without TOO much trouble. It MIGHT be just a 4 dr Biscayne with the Impala spear. It it has 3 tailights it has to be an Impala though. That's why I THINK it COULD be an R&R kit. Ray sometimes doesn't bother to change things on some bodies he casts, an it can confuse things. As far as takein paint off, I've been told regular of laquer thinner won't hurt resin, BUT I'VE NEVER tried it, so don't take me word as the norm! -
Happy Birthday Alan!!! (Ma's resin keeper)

'32 ford cabriolet
george 53 replied to Lyle Willits's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
THANKS Andy, I did not know that, and I appericiate the answer!!! -
Well, Tony, THAT makes sense to me!! Still a good lookin lil junker though!! I like it!!!
-
Tony, dump the hoist and it'll be a REALLY cool Doodle bug! My cousins up north used to make them out of old car frames to go rideing on the Sleeping Bear sand dunes in Hart. To be honest with ya, it LOOKS good, but in reality, COULD it tow something? It really looks TOO lightweight to be able to move junked cars or trucks. But it DOES LOOK good!

Trevor who ???
george 53 replied to slantasaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Uhhhh, that WASN'T a FORD in victory lane, it was a KIT CAR. There ARE NO FORDS that even look CLOSE to that thing. -
'32 ford cabriolet
george 53 replied to Lyle Willits's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Lyle, please excuse my nievety, but what makes it a CABRIOLET, as opposed to just a roadster? Is it the fact that the roof(at least the rear of it) extends down INTO the body? I'da just called it a roadster or a convertable. Thanks. -

Rat Rod or not?
george 53 replied to Darin Bastedo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Jairius, in all honesty i NEVER said it was WRONG. I just told it as i felt it. If a guy can't take pride in makeing something SOOOO COOL that everybody wants one like it, then WHAT did he do? I was there to see the way those young fellas polished the stainless, HAND POUNDED sheetmetal to fit where it had rusted thru, simply BECAUSE they DIDN'T want a crappy lookin ride. How these younger guys can take pride in a pile of JUNK is beyond me. Maybe it's caz I saw and grew up around REAL hot rods and NEVER saw a peice of junk built. Seems like these so called builders take pride in creating somethink that's CRAPPIER looking than the next guy. But hey, to each their own. I';; never call 'em hot rods, caz they aren't .Their JUNK rods. That's a more appropriate name for them. Never saw a REAL RAT look that bad, unless it was ALREADY DEAD!(an I've seen REAL rats!) And from the looks of the hood of that car, IT doesn't look like a rat rod. IS it? -
GREAT ATTITUDE,Don. Your gonna learn ALOT from your mistakes. Just keep on goin and you'll be alright! You GO, Don!!!!!
