Terraplane Grille in Resin
george 53 replied to Chuck Most's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Would it BE possible to do a WHOLE body that way? Is this like the guy who's doing the Elenor Mustang on a Rapid Prototype machine? THAT would make a COOL model. -
Those are GREAT pro mod kits( 55/57 Chevy's, 55 Ford, and Christine), but they MAY be a little more complicated than what your used to. They DO build up nicely with not alot of work, but there's ALOT of peices, and they go in some tight spots. Perhaps just buildin up a coupla Drag styled cars, till you get up to speed might help. These are some nice kits though, and once you get your skills honed, they can be built up into some KILLER models!

Hollow tire problem fixed
george 53 replied to ewaskew's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Actually, this is a pretty good idea for ANY hollow tires. I never thought about that. -
Jeremy, now THAT'S a twist i never saw! Olny spyder wheels i've EVER seen were chromed, a PAINTED one is unique! As for the "Day Two" build, I build ALL of my cars that way,Bro. I could NEVER leave my cars alone, so i build my models the same way!('CEPT for my wifes Eldo, cas the don't make speed parts for it!!!) ;)

Bruce, i did this awhile back also, AFTER i saw an article in that other mag about fixing the wheelwells. It came out pretty nice too. I used the interior of the JoHan 75? Cutlass, and the Dash out of the 76 Monte Carlo. The Chassis came from an old MPC GTO. Kinda a mishmash of parts but it did come out as nice as yours! GREAT job on a very rare car!!!! ;)

Terraplane Grille in Resin
george 53 replied to Chuck Most's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Can he get that kinda detail IN 25th scale??? I don't have any use for such an option, but if he pops it, I'm SURE we'll be seein a COUPLA ideas from YOUR crazy self!!! ;) ;) -
Some of my built R&R stuff.
george 53 replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The ONLY R&R kit i ever had problems with was his 53 Mercury. THAT is a misshapen pile of POOOOP BUT all the other kits i have (which are quite a few) WERE very workable, but in NO WAY in the class of the newer casters. Ray's too tired to update anything, so be WARNED that his kits ARE buildable, BUT NOT without some work. I STILL enjoy his off the wall stuff though. ;) ;) -

Dodge van truck?
george 53 replied to RodneyBad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Rod,Before he had to give it up, my brother used to have a 24hr. heavy truck repair. He would go out and repair semi tractors that had broken down on the roads. He had a Ford van he worked out of, with Arc welders an Welding tanks and stuff. A truck like THAT one would have been a GREAT service truck!. Just an idea..... ;) -
WoW! it sure came out NICE! Me an Crazy Jim went in on some of that stuff, but i must be doin somethin wrong, caz I haven't gotten a shine like that! Your Dart came out GREAT!!!
-
Now THIS is the kinda stuff that's really cool, to me. I LIKE the oddball, off the wall cars that you could order back in the day. A 427 Biscayne, or a OHC 6 Pontiac Le Mans Sprint. Your 300 is looking good, and I'm SURE your freind will like it! After all, he'll be the only kid on the block with one!!!

Jeremy, there used to be a black 69 Hemi Roadrunner around here that was Black, and with the flat black dual hood stripes. The Hemi Air Grabber hood(NOT the A-12 6-Pak hood) had the hood grilles painted RED. These REALLY stood out on that black rascal. Just made it look even BADDER!!!!! He ran steelies an dog dish caps on it with a bench seat and Auto on the column. GREAT lookin car!!!!

Ed's doin ALOT better than he was. But he's feelin his oats again, and other than needin the Antibiotics in his IV, he'd be able to go home! He's got someone to waych his son, his wife is out of the hospital, and slowly but surely, he's gettin better. He says Hi to everybody, and wants you all to know that as soon as he gets home and is back to normal, he WILL finish any and ALL deals that he had goin before he got sick. If ANYONE wants to call/contact him, just PM me, an I'll give ya his Cell number.

help for a friend
george 53 replied to lonewolf01's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Guys JUST got off the phone with Ed. He's on a nurseing home right now, because he needs to be on IV antibiotics for the next 6/7 weeks, and mecicaid won't pay for him to have HOME CARE, BUT they WILL pay if he enters a nurseing home. So, That's what he did. Since being in a nurseing home DOES have it's limitations, No internet access an so forth, he has asked me to explain his situation to you all. He is feeling VERY depressed as to not being able to comply with variuos trades or deals that he made before he took ill. If Ian Ashton is reading this, Ed appologizes to you because he hasn't been able to return you your resin masters. I TOLD him we aren't ogre's and that we would all understand how being "Laid Up" in a nurseing home CAN put a REAL cramp in your style, but I didn't believe we would hold it against him. So, gus, just to keep ya updated on Brother Ed's condition, if ANYONE wants the inside skinny on wats happnin with Ed, just drop me a PM. Suffice to say he IS getting better, he DOES miss us(LOL) and hopefully he'll be back among us soon! -
It's beautiful Zoli!! But i wonder what the curb life of that rascal is REALLY like! I do not believe that a car THAT nice has ANY kind of a curb life over there!!!! Police car or NOT!!!
-
Oh that's just plain ol MEAN lookin!!!! GREAT job!
