Josh, if THAT'S the rear end your useing, Just CLEANLY cut the springs from the rear axle, and insert blocks of plastic BETWEEN the springs an rear end, and glue them BACK together. The thickness of the blocks will determin the amount of drop you want. A 1 inch thick(in scale)spacer will LOWER it by 1 inch, and so on. It's NOT hard to do, just make sure your cuts are clean and straight.

Guys, a jap company called Toy Star makes the Chieftain, (TS 148-3000), and Both a Russian T-100 (TS 13-2000) and the T 34/85(12-2000). Model Craft makes a Chieftain (25001) also. Tamiya makes the Jagpanther(1330) and aTiger 1(3311) and a T-34 (89569) They also make a Centurion(30614-5500) All these are in 25th scale. I ended up buying two M1A1 Abrhams from Franklin mint also. All these tanks run in the 70.00 range, EXCEPT the Franklin Mint Tanks. They were 180.00 back when i bought them. They ARE pretty well detailed and come with crewmen. Thay build up REALLY nice, but they ARE BIG, and take up ALOT of room(especially compared to CARS!!!) ;) -
Had an sweetie in High School who bought one of these when we graduated. It was Black with a white interior. Even had a RECORDABLE 8 track in it! I built one useing the Jo Han Kit(it was what i had handy) and it came out pretty good! In fact, i STILL have it here somewhere. But that Gran Coupe wasn't a real popular model around here. Mostly there were only 6 cyl. or flat out 'Cudas, but that Gran Coupe realy stood out! VERY nice car. I'll be watchin this one Steve. Good Luck.

Richie, IF you have a beauty supply store near you, check them out for a NAIL polishing stick, it will have THREE sides an each one is finer than the other! When you finish useing it, your glass SHOULD be good as new! Hope this helps, and WELCOME to the hobby!

OKAY, NOW we're talkin!! THAT would be WORTH the price to me, and I WOULD pay the price for one (ok, probably two) of THOSE! That Pontiac is what first made me go CRAZY over Juha's models. I'd GLADLY buy one!!!!(or MORE) -

Terraplane Grille in Resin

There way a 37 Hudson Terraplane at the auto show this year. It was COOL! That grille was on another custom there too, a 34 Ford coupe, and IT was all customed out. That grille REALLY flowed with the cars lines! I'd buy the whole car if it was cast in resin, it was THAT cool.(The 37 Hudson, that is!) -

Risto, that's my fault, I thought you just double the cost to change it from Euro's. Sorry 'bout that. But with Postage and Handeling from europe, it STILL comes out to too much for me. I have the R&R version, but it;ll NEVER be as nice as yours. Sorry 'bout the mix up. -

Rust pits look just a little TOO large for me. Imma goin with large scale MODEL! -
You did a REAL nice job on that kit,Chuck. I just used it for parts, and sold the body an stuff to the slot racers. It IS a good source for parts, even if the body itself isn't all that accurate. Nice job!

Wow! A thousand bucks!
george 53 replied to Terry Sumner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You guys REALLY gotta come to the Macomb County Comm. Coll. Toy show here in Mich. I saw that Vega kit go for 150.00 and I've bought that LOLA at least THREE times for 30 bucks each! I JUST traded one off too. I wonder if bein in Detroit has anything to do with it? There are ALL kinds of GREAT deals, and they hold it twice a year. I've NEVER gone an NOT been able to find something cool. Guess ya just gotta get there early. -
oooooo......barracuda.........
george 53 replied to jeffb's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Was lucky enough to see this JUST as the mold got filled!!! It IS the MOST ACCURATE 66 Barracuda out there! The yellow on the master is where an old promo was cut up to provide the proper rear wheelwells AND the Formula S script that was on the front fenders. And ALL you add are the TIRES and TIME to finish it! I BELIEVE it's Motor City's FIRST COMPLETE kit! Check the prices on a mint 66 AMT kit, and you'll see your getting QUITE a bargain!!!!! -
GREAT save! I have two of those Chargers, and now, Kevin Lutz of Missing Link Resins is doing one based off the newer Revell kit. I'm savein up for THAT rascal too!!! LOVE me some 68,9 and 70 Chargers, Although I'm VERY partial to 69's as I once owned a R/T 440 4spd. PROBABLY the most BEAUTIFUL body style of ALL the Chargers!!! :D

Juerg, the dash came out REALLY nice, Bro. Did you detail it, or are those gauges decals? It looks GREAT!!! I'm ALWAYS happy ta see what your building. :D

At first I thought you MIGHTA put a freshly painted model TOO close to the Clothes dryer while ya waited for the PAINT to dry!!!GLAD i was wrong!!! :D -
Beautiful build! Both of those 69 B bodies were BEAUTIFUL in their day! My FAVORITE year for Mopar! But I never saw the chrome trim around the side running lights on any 69 B body. Sure doesn't take ANYTHING away from it though. GREAT build!

What does it take to Build a Model?
george 53 replied to DRG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dan, for cutting the parts off the sprue's. Once you get started you'll find 100's of uses for it. Glad to hear your doing your FIRST one, there will be MANY more to come.(it's addictive) -
But ya know, actually, NONE of those kits had much Engine compartment detail. I DO believe they actually used that same chassis throughout the entire production run. There was only the Engine, Firewall, Radiator support, and a battery. There was no washer bottle or alot of firewall detail either. But I sure liked 'em back then, PLUS there's ALOT of room in there to ADD all that stuff. MPC kits were ALWAYS my favorite BBC/s till Revellogram started the Motion Camaro kits. THOSE engines are the mook. But I STILL use the MPC engines for the Turbo 400 Tranny's.

Don THIS is a NICE kit. It has NO relation to the ancient AMT kit, except for the subject matter. THIS is a GREAT kit!!!

What does it take to Build a Model?
george 53 replied to DRG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Actually, I think the ONLY thing you NEED to have, is the DESIRE. You DON'T need to have the talent, or skill, JUST the WANT to be able to do it. Once you start, the rest will just come by doing it. Like they say, Practice makes perfect. IF you WANT to get better, with time and practice, you will. IF YOU WANT it. But that's just my opinion. -
Worked it last nite from 3 to 9. It's a GREAT show again this year! Make sure to go downstairs if ya wanna see REAL hot rods. The upstairs is mostly show cars, but they are nice too. The General Lee that got hit INSIDE the building belongs do Brian, one of our club members. It's now parked right next to the Monkee Mobile, with the crunched side AWAY from the spectators. I DO NOT even want to know what Brian said when it was hit! That car is his BABY!!!!

Way back in the early 60's my uncle Greg had one this same color combo, only he was running Chrome reverse wheels and Baby moons!! GREAT build, I LIKESES it!!!

I've told both my wife and Joy to just call my brothers from the DMCC, and let them buy what they want, and sell the rest for them. The guys are honest and I trust them. They did the same thing for Bud Le febre's wife when he went home, and gave her all the proceeds. I even had a chance to buy one of Bud's kits, Hasegawas new Ferrari Testarossa, for only 10 bucks.!!! I'm willing THAT one to Pat Redmond (if I don't build it first! Sorry Pat!) ;)
