pring, if you can get an MPC 71 RoadRunner, Vhandyhart sells a 72 conversion kit consisting of a GTX grille, rear bumper and other parts. Get ahold of him at Vhandyhart@ aol.com to see his pricelist. His stuff IS TOP quality with no airbubbles or lots of flash. Plus, he ships fast. The price is only 8 bucks an it's worth it. Hope this helps.

newbie questions
george 53 replied to vintageiron's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Unless your parents ACTUALLY named you Vintageiron, you MUST show your REAL name in your sig! Now to answer your question, if your real careful, you CAN separate the front of the 67 Revell kit AT THE PROPER FENDER LINES, from the body with a SHARP/NEW X-acto no. 11 blade. Then do the same with the El Camino kit also. Once this is done use some 10 thousanths sheet plastic to re-enforce the back of the area where you glued the joined edges together. You can make a nice bench seat from the seat in the 66 Chevelle station wagon. But you'll have to score the seatback seperation line into it. Hope this helps, just be VERY careful with that X-acto knife! Hope this helps. Oh, use the BACK of the blade an drag it along the fenderdoor lines till it separates from the body. -

Duhhhh, i bought a toy water rocket. You know, the kind you fill with water, and attach to the hand pump, and pump up to the point where it takes off. I've been lookin for an easier way,to no avail. I haven't seen Steve's, heck I didn't even know he sold one! Is it on his website? How much is that rascal? Me thinks it'd be ALOT easier to get that one than to convert my toy! But what the hey, Mebbe I'll do it anyway jus to see if I CAN! Oh, and YEAH, put me in for Steve AND his service! A NICER,EASIER guy to deal with would be hard to find! 100% GREAT guy!!! -

The REAL original "pony car"...
george 53 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Harry, that last one, just looks like a Camaro with an early Dakota grille in it. Din't Chrysler just kill the Car an keep the legalise for the name? like G.M.'s doin with the Pontiac? -
Jeff, my brother in law had one in that same color combo. It was a REAL popular one for that year! his had white steel wheels with dogdish hubcaps. And just like Roge said, when he sold it, it sold on the first day!
-
Mighta used the same patterns but the old revell vans were 25th scale.
-
Jerry, bein RoG, can I assume it's 24th scale??
-
Juergen What i tell ya Bro? ANOTHER killer!!! you are one hecklava builder daddy-O! Some guys would KILL(like ME!) to be able ta build like you! Your one of the BEST Brother, and I MEAN that!!!

george 53 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Harry, the P-51 was actually called the Apache when introduced by North American Aviation. The British RE-named it the Mustang, an NAA, just kept the name. -
Good to see it here Ed! It was REALLY cool to see it come together too! ALL the work you put into it REALLY paid off. It looks GREAT!!!

Don't know yet... I usually go ROM hunting Sunday night...
