  1. Chuck, go head an get you some more, they're GREAT kits! I got a coupla them. With all the guys in my family, I really don't have any cousins that DIDN'T have Muscle Cars. My cousin Norbert,in Saginaw had both a 66,an a 67 442, both black an fast as sin! Those are some pretty accurate kits and they build up into a REAL nice model! Go 'head an get you a couple more!!! You'll be glad you did!!!
  2. Greg,it's just you! My mom had a 65 Mustang 289 4bbl automatic for her work car, yours brings back LOTSA memories. Hers was dark green, almost like Pontiacs Verduro Green,But a nice Mustang is STILL a nice Mustang! Great job on it!
  3. Eric, even for 2 years of sittin it looks pretty good! I LOVE the chop! Great color choice too! I try to build my cars to be kinda realistic, as if I could really drive them, and that induction system, even though it DOES look killer, would be just too tall in real life(in my opinion)to safely see around. NOT that it takes ANYTHING away from your build, it's just a personal preferance on my part. It's lookin GOOD kidd-o, an if the TreeHugger built one kinda like it, it sure AIN'T a bad idea! I do often wonder why we don't see more of this kit, it IS a nice kit to build.
  4. That's 'em Bill! My cousin Mingo had them on his 55 after he had the cruzer skirts( that's wat I always called those kinda skirts) They had a prow type of front, similar to the bow of a PT boat. And they had that "bubble" type shape to 'em like you got on that lil 49. But there wasn't a scoop of any kind on the front, they just start to flair out into the shape I'm decribing. Maybe there's another name for them elsewhere's but here in Deeetroit we called 'em Bubble Skirts.
  5. Phil, it's lookin REALLY good! The chrome on them wasn't alot, but VERY tastefully done, and you handled it PERFECTLY! It' does look really nice as it is, Too bad they din't make nice custom wheels like that in the 60's all we had were like Chrome reverse,or Cragars, or stuff like that. But those wheels look REAL good on that ride!!!
  6. Well Harry, Dan beat me to it, but he's right, WAKEY,WAKEY time!!! Hope your well rested an ready ta roll!!! CAZ WE ARE!!!! So Daddy-O waz it gon be like?? Mike-O is even holdin back on ya Blood, so here ya are, with a bunch a junkies jus waitin on dey fix! So HIT US Bro, HIT US!!!!!
  7. Bill could you make BUBBLE skirts? My cousin Mingo had a 55 Ford custom with those neet Dagmar headlight covers 56 Merc Station wagon tailights an those SOOO bichin bubble skirts! That car was SOOOO cool an them skirts just made it!!! Do ya think you could make some? coodja, huh, coodja???
  8. Nick, if you have a Harbor Freight around you, Harry's right, they carry one for about 70.00 bucks! Use their 20% off coupon, you can find a coupon in ALOT of car mags these days, Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding,or Super Chevy come to mind. Jus get you a regulator water trap, also at Harbor Freight for 19.95, an you should be good ta go,for LESS than a hunnert bucks!! Hope this helps!
  9. Ok, Tell me WAT??? Is there something I should know about????
  10. Charlz, jus drop the model in it full strength. It'll take a day or two depending on the paint, but you can put your hands RIGHT IN IT, which is a DEFINATE Nay-Nay with the purple stuff! You'll like it after you see how well it works!
  11. Ok Lyn, THIS IS IT!!!! Didja get enuf help?? Sorry I couldn't come down, but I'm painting the living room. It's got a 16 ft cathederal ceiling, so bein 5.4 doesn't quite cut it!!! I KNOW I'd be havin a LOT better time with ya'll down there! I'm sure hopin that you get it all sorted out, maybe ya could post some pics of them all.Or part of 'em! You Go Girl!
  12. Yeah, An I was actin stoopid an lookin at all the cars, so I never heard the call to go outside an be in the pic! I'll DEFENATELY be listnin harder this year! REALLY lookin forward ta seein ALL my forum Brothers again this year, and hopefully meet MANY more! REALLY sorry that Gregg won't be able to make it, but i KNOW he'll be there in spirit!!!
  13. Yeesh Geeze, your just incredible! I'm just amazed at how you come up with this WAY off the wall stuff! To actually see how you figure it out,an then execute it is just amazing to me! You gotta be one of the most imaginative modelers I've ever seen. Your right up there with the Capt'n when it comes to building flights of fancy! And I mean that in the NICEST way!
  14. Ok,Ok, So I WON'T move into da hood! Couldn't do that to yer neighbors! I'm havein a good time here Harry, RoM jus makes it better! What ever you wanna do is fine with me, BUT the OTHER RoM junkies MIGHT NOT be as kindly an forgiving as ME! Ya know MikeMc an LoneWolfie might get a mite irked!
  15. Well Welcome back Ken! Whatever reason you left for is OK, all that counts now is that YOUR BACK!!!! Good ta hear from ya again! Well you know the program, so jus wade on in,caz the waters fine! Watch out for the REAL warm spots though!
  16. I gotta hand it to ya,Hertsi, ya sure do a NICE job on the ol Brush paints! That must be some pretty good paint to NOT leave streaks in it! You do a REALLY nice job with it. Yer lil Chevy looks GOOD!!!
  17. OOPS, my bad! Still a REALLY nice kit though!
  18. CC, I've never seen the kit in question, but if I have any idea of what your talkin about, it THINK it means to "Heat swag" (another, fancier term for Melt) the little retainer washer to a pin or stub that extends from the axle thru the retainer hub. Ya just take an old Exacto knife, heat it up, an touch it to the nub that extends THRU the hole in the retainer,So that it just melts the nub enough to hold the retainer down/on. DON'T make it TOO hot, or press TOO HARD, cas it'll melt thru MORE than just the parts, if your not careful! Try it on some scrap peices till ya get the hang of it.
  19. Dante(nice name), that kit is the AMT 67 Chevelle Pro- Street. I don't know if it's still available,as I haven't seen one on the shelves in quite some time! Those neet rims come with the kit. GREAT kit for parts and it's a GREAT kit ta build!
  20. WHAAAA!!!!!!!!??????? You gonna be the DEATH o' me yet, Harry!!!! You gonna make me crazy(ER) than I's already is!!! The idea of useing "What is It" as a REPLACEMENT jus don't cut it!! Maybe if you were to alternate it like you mentioned, it may not be so hard to go thru withdrawals! But to jus leave it die is JUST TOO MUCH for my fragile(Frag-e-lay)heart! PLEASE don't kill it!(us) If you do, I WILL come to your neighborhood, rent a home, an let ALL the neighbors KNOW that we are FORUM brothers, and YOU will soon suffer from MY deaseses. They will run us BOTH from our homes,Probably burn your house to the ground, (Caz YOU started it!) STEAL YOUR CAR, and leave it all stripped an naked on Michigan Ave. just to EMPHESIZE that you NEVER again bring ANYONE from the Forum into the hood again!!! BUT it is YOUR baby, an whatever you decide, I ll go with. BUT I WILL MOVE INTO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, an NO ONE will mistake me for Mr.Rodgers!(Ya wanna peice of candy?) " Yes, you will be my neighbor"
  21. Actually it looks more Toronadoish than Cadillacey. What ever it really is it's UGLY!
  22. Mike-O I KNEW that! I waz jus testin 'im! Soli,Mark, watever, he digs model cars he's ok with me!
  23. WoW! what a pretty car! I REALLY like the paint job.It really flows with the lines of the car so well!! Was Ed right?
  24. Duhhhh, I missed the bus again Harry. I can't see what you did with the Gull wing. I see the other mods, I like the RoadCharger the best, an the Cougar looks really doable, the hardest part would be to get rid of the hood "spear". Did you know that tailight treatment you have on the 69 Mustang was actually an option in the AMT 1969 Mustang Mach 1 kit? Yep, an it STILL looks good 40 years later!!!
  25. Soli, it seems any motor coulda done the job. it's the workmanship and execution of the reast of the car that sets it apart. The 60 Ford kit is a GREAT starting piont for a build like this as it lends itself to these mods so well! Yeah, Daddy-O, if you gots da feelins, GO with 'em! It'll make for a REAL nice build!
