Loosen the lid on Testors enamel square bottles.
ranma replied to R. Thorne's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Personally I use a bic type lighter to heat the cap which works quick, and the cap comes off when using a paper towel .. My main issue is that the paint hardens just after a couple of month's now, and becomes like a rock in the bottle! Odd but true thing is this year at the U.S. 127 garage sale I bought a set of bottle paints with a copyright for 1986, yet the paint is still perfect and useable. Only the thinner was fairly empty. Original price was 3.99 from Harts.. -

The Scout SV was off the display floor for about a week or so in the last year, Since it had not be started or driven since about 1980. There is a video on you tube that show's that they cleaned out the gas tank, fuel lines and got the Scout SV Running/driveable again. Seen the Scout SV at both Auburn then at the First Harvester Homecoming at Fort Wayne Indiana. One person has a remaining body of a Scout SV Of the 30 Protoype's there are only the one at auburn and his. all others were destroyed. Side Note This wasn't the Scout II's replacement but a supplamental Vehical Or SV

My roommate! Most of the time we get along, but sometimes he carries his jokes to far ! (Although I don't think he was joking) After letting him know that I had an up coming trade deal he said that he should ban me from shopping at Ollie's! This man has no hobbies unless you count sitting most of the day in front of a TV, and then half the time he sleeps during the day "watching " it. Before 2020 he would have me drive him to a strip club in Indiana Monthly. Sometimes he wanted to go twice in a month. I could live without giving money to someone and not have anything but an empty wallet to show for it. The city made a new law for these places, and so he no longer goes to it. He say's that landlords wouldn't like my collection of model's If we had to move. So after he made the statement I shot back then I need to stop going to walmart ect that way I don't spend anything that I have only on bill's ! We split the rent, electric ect. I pay my auto insurance, and most of the Gasoline I use I pay for. I set back Around $65-70 Dollars a month for gasoline. he shell's out 10-20 depending on if I used up the gas money. Sometimes he acts like his dad, and his dad treated him Poorly. I get that! My own dad was the same way, and would treat my siblings better than myself. After all we can be a product of how we were raised, but that is unless one chooses not to follow it but learn to be different than their parents. Which is the path I chose for myself. I had little in common with my late dad. Yet I respect him for working like he did to provide for his family. I didn't follow doing what he did to me growing up when it came to my children. While I still think a spanking is a good for the learning process, But the throwing of a shoe, using tree limbs, and verbal abuse I wasn't going to use on my children. But it don't make up for the fact that my roommate can be a donkey's rear sometimes. I try not to be to him! Lets just say on the first I get just north of $500.00 and the third another $401. The whole $401 goes to him as my half of the bill's + an extra $125 per month added to that to hold for my Auto Insurance which is $414 every six Months. Sometimes I put 150-170 back a month. The rest minus gasoline money is my spending capital. Which Pays for items such as TP, Paper towles , plastic frezzer bags and other hygene items. He rather me only have $100.00 to spend while the rest is put back for Insurance ect. But being on SSI and EBT/ I'm Not allowed to have much cash on hand. When I was growing up I didn't have much money to buy models , let alone get to many store's that had them. So what I built were from Christmas presents or birthday money from my grand parents. So I try to make up for what I missed out on while growing up. which My roommate don't like nor understand as he don't have any hobbies, or collections of anything,

Maybe, But then those display's were filled and sent by Round 2... From what I'm seeing at my local Ollie's that the kit's are coming in by the case load and are non mixed cases! IE The photo's above that show cases of kits cut open. Would be nice if they also got the 1/25-1/24 amt display case's!

A shout out to Greg Smith? Thanks for the heads up in the Ollies thread!!!! Our local store just opened here in Van Wert Ohio on the 9th! Sure enough they had one case of the Transtar 4070 A kit's, and two cases of the Trailers. Bought 3 Transtar's and a Trailer! Had to go back for the trailer as I didn't have enough $$ on me at the time . They held the trailer for me while I came home to get the rest of the cash I needed. I'm lucky I did as when I got back every truck and all the trailers except the one I was buying were sold. I got to the store at 10:15 A.M. and got back here at 10:45 to hear that all the trucks and all but one of the trailers were sold to one person! They refused to sell him the one that I had waiting for me to get back and pay for....

Trade deal on here. Got the AMT Craftsman '65 Pontiac GTO Hardtop, and the Craftsman '70 Buick Wildcat. Had to put in a replacement request with round2 for a Buick Body. Since both kit's were Factory sealed it's not the fault of who I traded with.

Revell '77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Opinions
ranma replied to ranma's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I agree some with that as I have three of the '77Monte Carlo's. I got the third one last week For $10. built, but missing the rear bumper. This said copy was the Neon green one which I opened the hood up on, and painted a different color as well. It will be converted to full detail car just have to find a donor chassis/engine ect for it. -
Mod's please move this if it's in the wrong place. Do you feel that Revell should have issued the '77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo as a full detailed kit with the hood opened, and as a 2in one choice of stock or custom (low rider)?? I Feel it may have sold better if it had been a full detailed kit , and not the crummy adjustable suspension curbside kit. Issued 4 times in different colors: Red, blue Neon green , and Gold. I think only maybe 2 of them had stock wheel choice, Red and the blue copies.

Finally I don't have to leave town to get to Olliie's ! Grand opening here in Van Wert Ohio, and they had some models. Bought 2-'63 Nova Wagons, 1923 Depot hack, Coca Cola 41 Plymouth, and four cans camo flat black paint. The kit's they had were Coke '60 Ford Ranchero, 1/32 ford thunder bird, 1/32 32 Ford, '70 Corvette, 64 Ford Galaxie. two 1/48 scale fighter jets in one box. and the kit's I bought...

Ertl issued four copies of the IH Scout II
ranma replied to ranma's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
For those who want the Scout II Off Road kit, but finding one it's easy to get other wise. Just get both the scout II and the Off Road Scout II SS, and switch the interior (seats/steering wheel, Wheels ,plus the brush and off road lights. The only thing will be you won't have the decals from the Original (red) off road kit. -
Ertl's First Scout II kit was the 1976 Scout II which was molded in Orange, The second issue was the 77/78 Scout II which was molded in Yellow. Around the same time came the other two scout kits Both "Off Road" with the scout II Off Road molded in dark red, and the Scout II SS which was molded in tan/gold. I recently bought the rare Scout II Off Road which is molded in red, But this copy maybe even more rare than it normal is. This is due to a molding error made by ertl! It seems that the interior pan is actually for the scout II SS (tan/gold) , but it's molded in the dark red! The interior pan should have just been the standard scout II with the door panels molded in, How do I know this? because I have built two others of these rare kit's the first one was given to me by the late impcon {Gary Cook) but it lacked the decals. Number two was at the toy show in Toledo Ohio in 2021. Which leads to this one that I bought off ebay. See last photo.
