  1. Got back to this car tonight. I had to modify the frame a tad so that the 409 would fit. More to come. Dan
  2. Thanks Ray. I enjoyed building this car. Lots of different parts from other kits and resin. Dan
  3. I just got this done a few minutes ago. It has 56 Packard tail lights, 60 Pontiac hub caps, sooped up 6 banger with two carbs, stock grill with custom bumper, and the continental kit from the parts box. The skirts are from an original 61 Chevy truck that I built back in the day. Paint is Boyd's Ice Blue and True Blue Pearls over flat gray. Oh yeah, the top is from the Foose Cady and so is the interior. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  4. Got-er-done. I'll post the finished pics in the proper place. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  5. Thanks Ray. All I have to do now is polish the skirts, install them and be done. Dan

  13. WOW,it's been quite awhile since I posted anything on this. Well, I got a little more done tonight. I sprayed more gray on it and did some more body work. Sprayed more gray and now it's drying. I think it's ready for the color next. Not sure. We'll see after I sand again. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  14. Thanks a lot guys for the kind comments. Dan
  15. That sounds great. The two cars are similar in looks. Although I think the Toyota is smaller, not sure though. I have one of the 1/32nd kits coming from Japan later this month or the beginning of March. Dan
  16. Thank you guys for the kind words. Dan
  17. I found this on e-bay. I also found the Toyota a few minutes ago on e-bay. I just typed ARII owners Club kits and there are a bunch there. They are 1/32nd scale and I really like 1/25th scale, but I made an exception for these two cars cause they aren't available in 1/25th. I'm really glad to be able to build these cars because of the fond memories they give me. Dan
  18. Thanks Carl. I wish that AMT would have put all the parts of the original kit in the reissues. I wouldn't have had to use resin parts to finish this. Dan
  19. Thanks guys. It was good for me to build this. It kinda perked me up a little. Dan
  20. Thanks guys. Max, it's a die cast. I combined parts from the CJ5 kit and Ford pickup truck. The rear fenders are scratch built. It had Sears logo on a flat bed when i got it from a friend.
  21. Got this done a few minutes ago. It's a 50 Ford convertible made into a hard top. Resin Carson top and fender skirts. Hubcaps from the parts box. Cadillac engine and custom stuff. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  22. Sure do have a few pics of it. Here are some of them. You can tell how small it is by it setting next to a 49-50 Ford at my apartment. I hope that I can find the model of this car. 2 Cylinder, air cooled and apposing cylinders. Flat 4 that is. 600 cc and a four speed on the tree. This was a fun little car to drive. Sounded like a motorcycle. Dan
  23. Thanks guys. Yes Erik, I had one. Paid 75 bucs for it and drove it for 11 months when smoke came out from under the dash. Got 50 bucs for it on a trade in. Then drove a Toyota Publica until I left the island. Here are a couple pics of the 1:1 car. By the way, the Jeep in the picture is the one I drove also. Made a replica of that also. Dan
  24. This kit is actually a 61, but it looks identical to the 63. I think that Datsun goes back before WWII. The company is actually Nissan. the cars were sold in America as Datsuns. I forget when they changed their name to Nissan here in the U.S.. They may have sold the cars in other countries as Datsuns also, not sure.
  25. Thanks Lee. ARII plastic models is the company. They are from Japan I guess. The writing on the box is in Japanese and on the instructions. It's the "Owners Club Series" kit. 1/32nd scale. I got it on e-bay. I'm now looking for their Toyota Publica kit so I can build a replica of one that I also owned while on Okinawa. Yes, it''s curbside. I had to convert it from right hand drive to left hand drive for my car. Dan
