  1. Well, before I can go forward with this I need to come up with the fire wall and windshield/dash for this. I'll be asking the guys in our club if anyone has some spare parts. Dan
  2. Thanks guys. This part is all that I have for the 59 Edsel. I just wanted to see if I could fix it. I have a little more work to do and then I'll respray the chrome. Dan
  3. Got a little done on repairing this grill. I sprayed the Molotow chrome refill thru my air brush and it holds up perty good. I have to do a little more work on the grill and repaint it. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  4. Just for the fun of it, I'm going to try and fix this part. I think it's from a 59 Edsel, not sure. I used a piece of tape on the back side of the bumper and used fingernail resin to fill in the hole. I also am trying to clean up the grill part. I've removed the glue residue and will try and smooth it all out. Then, I'll probably use the Molotow chrome in an air brush to paint it again. Here are some pics of what I did tonight. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  5. I'm building this with the Ala Kart chassis and grill. I had to modify the underneath part of the fender assembly so the chassis would fit. I also modified the grill to fit the 29 fenders. I also had to cut away some of the fenders so the chassis would fit up front. I'm using the wheels from some that a friend of mine gave me. I forget which kit they came from. Still a lot of work to be done. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  6. Very sorry to hear of your loss Alan. My sincere condolences to you and your family. GOD Bless. Dan
  7. Thanks Bill. I've never been to the GSL, so that must of been another build. I never found out that information about the armor plating, sorry. I do believe that it is a surplus jeep though. I had fun building this and spent a lot of time searching for information on Nellybelle. Not much information on the Jeep, esp. the color. All the pictures I found were in Black and White. After I painted it, I found one color of Nellybelle that Roy Rogers Jr. posted and Looks like I guest right on the color, or close anyway. Dan
  8. A small update on the 51. I lowered the rear another 1/8th of and inch. That's 3 inches in scale. The tires hit the upper inner fenders now and that's the way it will set. I also made an engine hoist out of plastic stock. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  9. Yup, and I miss them 'ol days. Dan
  10. A small update on this build. Not much work done, but the work that is done you don't see anyway. I kinda lowered the rear by heating it and bending the springs to get it lower. The skirts are from the 61 Chevy truck and the hubcaps are from the 60 Pontiac. I wanted to see how this will set and I would like the rear to set a little lower but I don't want to bend the springs any more than what it is now. I will paint the white walls later.
  11. I was reading a thread from Chuck Most about his Jeeps and someone brought up the Nellybelle name. So I thought that I would post some pics of the replica that I built a while back. This was a fun build for me. It took me about two years of research and finding all the information that I could get to build this Jeep. The doors are made from brass and the rung is a piece of copper wire painted black. I also scratch built the hitch and boxes on the rear fenders. The engine is wired correctly also. The tires and wheels are from a Tamiya kit I think. I hope ya like it. I just realised that I posted this in the wrong place. Would someone please move this to finished. Thank you.
  12. I got a little done today. I had to redo the left fender cause it was lookin out to the left at the top. LOL. The plastic extensions didn't work either, so I used Apoxie Sculpt to fill in the fenders. Now I have to wait another day to reshape the left fender. I might install a continental kit out back also. Not sure yet. Thanks fer lookin. Dan P.S. Look at the mess I'm making on the bench. Ha ha
  13. Thanks Tom. I actually did this on purpose. I wanted the side windows to be slanted like this. Maybe I'm crazy, but, that is the look that I was going for. Dan
  14. Dr. Kerry, I got them from Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland. They are excellent tail lights. I've used them on two 53 Fords and a 49 Merc. Now this is the first Chevy. I also plan to use them on a 56 Chevy in the future. And thanks fer the comment. Dan
  15. I'm starting another custom build This was a convertible and I'm using the top and interior from the Foose Cadillac and installing 56 Packard tail lights on it. There is a whole lot of work to be done on this one fer sure. This thing sure is Blue. LOL. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  16. Thanks Mike and guys I hear ya about someone should be making or re-issuing these kits. Dan
  17. Thanks Mark. I'm going to Zanesville this Saturday and I'm going to try and find the parts for the frame that I need at the model show. Dan
  18. Thanks Mark. I'm going to Zanesville this Saturday and I'm going to try and find the parts for the frame that I need at the model show. Dan
  19. Thanks for the offer Frank. I have found some more parts for this build. Here are some updated pics of what I'm doing to this truck. I shortened the long bed chassis for this truck and I'm combining two caps from AMT's 65 El Camino kits to fit on the bed. Still a lot of work to do on this. I have to find all the chassis parts for the 4x4 yet. I also need to make a gas tank for the chassis.
  20. Thanks John, but I want to keep the step side also. That's why I'm going to try and find another 4x4. Dan
  21. Thanks guys. I'm looking for another truck cause I want to keep the step side also. What might happen is I'll have two beds for one truck and that I don't want to do. I also started to convert the cap from the 65 Elcamino to fit this smooth side bed. This will take a lot of work but I have a spare cap to work on. What I intend to do is make a replica (sort of) of a 1987 Dodge truck that I had a few years ago. We'll see how this goes. Dan
  22. I built this truck a few years ago and I am going to change the bed to a smooth side. The smooth side is from an older truck but that's Ok. I do have an older hood and grills to choose from if I want. Here are some pics of the start of the build. I cut out part of the bed from the front to fit the wheel base of the short wheel base truck. I also had to make a resin copy of the inner bed part for the tail gate. I hope that I can find another short wheel base truck instead of converting this one. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  23. She's finished and now can be moved to the completed thread. I used BMF and the chrome pen to do the trim and tail lights. This was a good re-build and looks Ok to set on the shelf. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  24. She's a gittin thar fur sure. I used BMF and chrome pen for the trim. I removed the headers and trimmed a tad bit off of the ends and shorten them up a bit. I have re-installed them and will take pics soon. I also had to trim off the pins for the interior so that the interior would let the body go forward a tad. There was about a 1/16th gap between the body and flip front, so, somethin had to be done to close the gap. It still not perfect but it will do. I also moved the engine back a tad to help in this problem and now I have to trim the drive shaft to fit. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
