  1. Thanks guys. This was a real fun build for me. Brought back some real cool memories of three years on the island of Okinawa. Dan
  2. Got-er-done this morning and boy did it bring a big smile to my face. It looks like the one I drove on Okinawa (sorta). I've included the Jeep that I built as the one I also drove over there. Man, did this bring back some great memories for me. The license plate is correct also. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  3. Got-er-done and I'll post pics in the Under Glass section.
  4. Sorry, my bad. Not Lindberg, but Testors. DUH.
  5. Yep, and the convertible. They both are the same kits as the IMC kits. Dan
  6. I got some paint on it tonight. I painted the interior two tone Blue and I think the one I had was originally Blue and it was painted Green with the Blue interior. She's almost done. Nice little car. Dan
  7. It does look good when done Gary. The Lindberg kit is the same kit but mine didn't have a lot of flash on it like you described on yours. Dan
  8. If I may, here are pics of the Testors kit and I think it's not a bad kit. I was intimidated by it at first, but when i started working on it, it wasn't so bad. I have the convertible as well and will build it. Dan
  9. Thanks guys for the kind words. All are appreciated. Dan
  10. Thanks Christopher. I like seeing them rescued also. I really like rescuing them myself. Dan
  11. WOW, that's awesome. Dan
  12. I like it Erik. It's pretty cool. Where did you get the engine for it? I hear ya about Photobucket. Pretty bad when you can't even get there to remove your own pictures.
  13. Thanks Erik. I was stationed on Okinawa from Nov 67 to Jun 70. I loved it over there. If you still have your kit, I'd like to see a picture of it. I'm not going to really detail this. I'm just going to put it together and paint it like the one I owned. This company also made a Toyota Publica like another car I had over there. If I can find one of them, I'll build it like the one I had. Dan
  14. My next victim. While I was stationed on Okinawa I had a 63 Datsun Bluebird. I found this 61 1/32nd model on e-bay and I'm going to attempt to build it as a replica of that car. I had to convert it from right hand drive to left hand. This is the first time that I've tried to do this. The dash isn't perfect but it will do. I made a resin copy of the original dash. I also had to move the windshield wipers to locate them fro left hand driving. This is the beginning and I'm not used to 1/32nd scale (to small) ha ha.
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys. I really enjoyed rebuilding this car.
  16. Here are the pics of the Dodge. I had a good time fixing this car. I brushed Tamiya Smoke on the grill , added the head lights and installed the rear view mirror. I like this kit. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  17. She's finished. I will post the finished pics in the Under Glass section.
  18. Almost finished. I need to find some head lights, pins for the chassis and radiator hose. This was a fun rebuild for me. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  19. Here is what she looks like now. I need to paint the interior and then start putting her back together. Dan
  20. I got a little more done on the Dodge last night. I installed the engine and had to make the front exhaust pipes. I also installed some BMF on it and had to take a brake after I got this much on it cause my eyes were starting to cross. LOL. It's gettin closer to being finished. More work today. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  21. Thanks John, I know the problem is with Revellogram. I thought I had it fixed by removing a lot of plastic from the body, chassis and interior. Plus, I removed some from the glass also, but when I put this thing together, it showed it's ugly head again. Frustration set in. Oh well, that's the way the old plastic crumbles kinda thing I guess. All ya can do is laugh about it or cry, which ever ya want to do I guess. LOL. I also had to move the left front wheel assembly a tad forward to get it to set in the middle of the fender well on this kit and my 59's that i have. Bummer. Dan
  22. Admins, this can be moved to the NASCAR section if you would, please. Thank you . Dan
  23. Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll try to use the image Christopher and thanks. Ricky, you don't have to worry about me and a dehydrator, cause I don't have one, and I won't ask ya how you know. I think it happened to you already. LOL, sorry bout that, and thanks for the information cause I'll let others in our club know about this. Dan
  24. You're more than welcome Keith. I'm glad that other modelers can use this method to fix or customize models. Dan
  25. WOW, thanks Ron. I really appreciate your comments. Dan
