I was gettin ready to spray the Plum Crazy on when I found these sink marks on the trunk. Bummer big time. So, I had to go and try and fix them. I think I got them fixed and then I just got done paintin the Plum Crazy a few minutes ago. There is a little dust speckles on the roof but, I think I can just rub them out when this is dry. Now, what I need to know is what color undercoat did they use for the chassis. Was it Red Oxide or a gray primer. If ya know, please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. Here is a picture of the resin I use. I got this at Sally's Beauty Supply. I hope this helps someone cause it works great in making parts from a mold. Dan

Thanks for the kind words guys. I just hate to see these models thrown out because there might be something wrong with them. I think most if not all can be fixed. Dan

Thanks guys. I got the first coat of primer on this morning and I see some more work that has to be done on the A pillar and the vent window post. It's gettin there though. Dan

Here are some pics of a 63 Corvette 1/16th scale car that I rebuilt from the one I used to race as a rocket car back in the 80's. I used the same techniques to repair all four fenders and the rear panel.

I used finger nail resin that I got at Sally's Beauty supply. What I used for the mold is Amazing Mold Putty made by Alumilite. I got that at Micheal's craft shop. It's a two part putty that you mix in equal parts and while it's still playable place it over what ever you want to make a mold of. After it cures (about ten to fifteen) minutes you can remove it and place it where you want to fix the broken part. I did tape the mold in place just to hold it tight and then sprinkled the powder in the mold. Next, I just placed drops of the Bonding Acrylic Liquid on the powder and let it set and harden. This stuff is hard and works great for repairing missing parts. I have had great results using it to repair a few car bodies that were broken or were short shot from the factory. Now, you do need another part to make your mold from. The Acrylic Bonding material is made by Aspire and this is the stuff that I use. The liquid does have a strong smell to it and should be used in a well ventilated area. I LOVE using this stuff and I've saved a few cars from the trash because of it. I can post pics of the different cars that I've used this on if anyone is interested. Dan

Well, it didn't come with an engine and I have a 426 Wedge that I'm planning on installing and I think that I will paint it Plum Crazy. I was really surprised at how good a shape it was in except for the A pillar. The paint just rolled off with a rinse under the faucet after soaking over night in Supper Clean and all the rest of the car is in very good shape. I want to built it as a stock street car and not a drag car.

I got this Dodge from E-bay the other day and I've started to rebuild it. There was no engine and the left A pillar was missing. I made a mold of another Dodge and am in the process of fixing it. Here are some pics of the progress so far. The second pic is of the good A pillar then the rest show what I did to repair the car. The reason I even purchased this car is that it is a Polara 500 and has the extra chrome trim on the body side. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Nice 60, and don't worry about the topic. I like all x frame car also.

Thanks Niko for the kind words. I'm almost ready to put the decals on. I also built Jim Reeds 59 Impala awhile back and it turned out perty good I think. He won the Darlington 500 in 59 with it. I also like the x frame Chevy's. I had a 59 Impala 2dr coupe back in 1966 before I got drafted. I sure wish that I still had that car. My avatar pic is a model that I built of my 1:1 car. Dan

I finally got some primer on this car tonight. Here is a pic of it along with some parts for the 50 Ford custom that I'm also working on. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

A small update on this car. I finally got the paint on and it's a;most ready for the decals and wheels. It took a lot of work to get the chassis to fit under the car like the 59. I'll be installing the decals perty soon now. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Thanks Eric. I'm glad that you can use this. I have bid on a 59 Edsel glue bomb on e-bay and now I'll just wait to see if I get it. If not, no biggy. Dan

I finally got some color on this tonight. I just finished spraying on the Copper color and when it dries for a few days, I'll install the decals and finish puttin it together. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

While going thru the parts box, I found this rear bumper for the 59 Edsel. I stripped the chrome and fixed the small blemishes and just sprayed the chrome a few minutes ago. Now, all I need is the car. Ha ha. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

I finally got some more work done on this car. There is a lot of work that needs to be done fer sure. I posed it along side a stock one to compare the two on how much it is lower than the stock 51. I'm satisfied with the stance and now will concentrate on finishing the body work. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Thanks Andy. While going thru my spare parts I found the rear bumper for the Edsel. I'm in the process of fixing it also. Not much to do, mostly srpaying it with the chrome ink. Dan
-
Thanks guys. This was an experiment and I think it turned out pretty good and I am going to use the ink for more repairs in the future. I will still use BMF also. They both have their uses and compliment each other. Dan

Yes John. I got it at Sally's Beauty Supply. It comes in pink and clear powder and the liquid is kinda purplish pink. The liquid does have a strong odor, so, you have to use it in a well ventilated area. It's a lot like dental resin. The stuff smells the same. And, thanks fer the kind comment. Dan

Well, she don't look to bad. I just got this done a few minutes ago and I'm happy with the results. I don't have the car, but I was able to fix this grill and bumper. The Molotow chrome is great stuff. I sprayed this with my air brush. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

I have done some work on the chassis so it fits better under the 29's fenders. The front sets a tad bit lower now. Dan
