  1. Another great project ya got goin on Bryan. I can't wait to see how you get er done. Dan
  2. She looks really sweet Bryan. That color looks great. There's only one problem that I see on it (if ya want to call it a problem that is). The license number. It isn't "1613 AUTO" like the rest. Just kiddin ya Bryan. The color combination of the interior and exterior looks great. Nice simple custom ya got here buddy. Now, we just need to see the go power ya got in mind fer it. Dan
  3. I like where you're going with this build Jason. It looks great so far. One question fer ya, are you going to cut open a wheel well for the spare tire or just going to leave the trunk floor flat with no well? Just curious. Dan
  4. I had an old table in our pantry that I worked on and it was all mine. My brothers weren't aloud to use it and that was Ok by me. That way I could keep track of all of my stuff and build and paint to my hearts content. Nowa days I do all my buildin in the basement on a metal desk with a paint booth to exhale all the paint fumes and stuff. Again, it's Ok with me. Dan
  5. Guys, Sam (whatever his last name is) already beat us to Mars. Here's a pic of his first store on Mars. Now I can't take credit for this pic but I can still show it. I think it came from a reputable source. Dan
  6. Man, when I saw this pic it brought back many great memories for me. I worked at CONEX control on Okinawa when I was in the Army back in 67-70. Thanks for the memories ARTEMIS1759. By the way, your trailer looks great Chad. Dan
  7. Thanks Rob. I'm hoping to have a couple of pics up later today. Not much to show though. This is going to be a slow re-build I think. Sometimes when I start something like this I don't stop until it's finished. I do have other builds to finish along with this one. Dan
  8. Thanks Von Zipper. I appreciate yer kind werds muh friend. I werked on the windshield tonight and it's gettin kinda clear and ya can see thru it now. Pics will be posted up tomorrow, just not a lot of progress yet. Dan
  9. Thanks Charlie. I got the pic that I needed for the spear. I hope that I can make it. Dan
  10. Thanks guys. I'm not sure if the windshields are the same or not. I'm going to try and clean this one up and see ifin I can use it. I'm not in the position to buy stuff at this time. I haven't worked for over three years now and that puts a hurt on the funds. Anyway, I've worked on the body last night and cleaned it up a little more. Got rid of some of the glue mess on it and I'm still going to do some more today. Charlie, I use Super Clean to strip paint off. I also use brake fluid if SC doesn't work, but on this one the SC worked just fine. I haven't thought about the color yet. That's a long way off. I do need to come up with the front fender spears cause they were a missin on it and in place of them were the rear view mirrors. Bummer. I think that I can scratch build them, or at least, I hope I can. I need to get a close-up of them to see what they really look like. Dan
  11. WOW, thanks Bryan. I will try and keep calm buddy. Dan
  12. Looks like a great start Bryan. That color will be awesome. I like the interior. Dan
  13. Well, you can hold on to it fer awhile. Maybe some youngin who never heard of a typewriter can use it . I fergot to mention that the windshield is fubar I believe. I also need to Alclad the bumpers and grill. One other thing, I need to find the front fender spears. This had rear view mirrors in place of the spears. One good thing is that it had 57 Plymouth hub caps on it and they're in very good condition. I just love those hubcaps. I also have the 8 lug wheels from a 62 Bonneville the I can use, plus if needed, I have the engine from the same 62. I had a 62 Bonneville convertible back in the day and thru it away but kept the parts mentioned. I have kicked myself for that ever since and I'm getting sore from so much kicking. Dan
  14. Thanks Bryan and yes she was in beautiful colors underneath also. Dan P.S. I hit 900 posts with this here post. Yay fer me. I know, I win a typewriter from the 30's. You don't have to send it to me real soon either, I can wait.
  15. Ok, here's another glue-bomb that I've started on. Like I need to start another one right now. I got this at a model show in Lima Ohio yesterday and I've stripped it already. Well, here are some pics of what she looks like now. (It's not bad). The beginning The body cleaned up perty good. Just a little bit of work is needed. The interior on the other hand is requiring a bit more work on it. There was real carpet glued on the floor and is a pain in the neck to remove. More pics in my photobucket ifin ya would like to take a peak. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  16. Oh yeah, this is where it's at fer sure. I love this car. I'm very interested in watching you go with this one Ira. Dan
  17. Here's what I did to my 40 Ford in Photoshop. Before After I'm also kinda leary about going to other sites. I'm kinda paranoid when it comes to these sites. It probably is just fine but I can't take any chances at this time. The pictures that you guys have done look great though. Dan
  18. Lookin good Bill. I see lotsa work involved here fer sure. Keep 'er goin. I have the roof on the 60 and it needs some work on it now. I'll update my thread soon also. Dan
  19. Thanks guys, and Bill, the top isn't attached yet. It's just taped on for now. I have some more work to do to get it to fit properly. If you look close enough you can see that it's a two tone car already. The roof is kinda yellowish and the body is white. I could just leave it that way or I could paint it a different color. Just kiddin, it will be painted but I don't know what color yet. That's a long way off. Have a good day fellers. Dan
  20. A HUGE THANKS goes out to Bill Geary for the roof for this car. He sent me the roof off of the 59 and I'm gonna use it on my 60 cause the roof was previously removed by one of our members in our club for a 62 Buick same kit night build I think two years ago. Well, he didn't want the rest of the car and gave it to me. I've been trying to think of how I could build it, maybe as a convertible or a roof from something else or yet a custom of some kind. Well, now the answer is final. A stock roof from the 59. I'll have to do a little work on it but I'm happy as two flies on a pile of horse (stuff) Well enough yakin and here are some pics of what she looks like now. These are just mock up pics. Here are two pics of the removal of the spare tire wheel well and making the floor piece to take its place. Thanks fer lookin. This build will be awhile to get finished cause I have a few in front of it to finish. Dan
  21. Great start Bill. The trunk lid looks good so far. I'll be watching this build also and I'll start a thread on the 60 that I'm able to build thanks to you sir. I have already started to fit the top and it looks ok so far. Glad that you're back at it my friend. Have a good day. Dan
  22. Bill, I sent you a PM about the 59 roof. Dan
  23. I like it as well. Builds like this are always better than throwing them away just because they're broken. A HUGE COO-DOSE (spelling?) to you for saving it. Great job my friend. Two thumbs up fer sure. Dan
  24. Looks very good. The paint is beautiful. Nice job combining the parts from both kits. I see that you used the original Willy's kit from Revell. Nice job of doing that too. Are you going to use the frame from the original kit on another build? I also like the stance, very aggressive look and ready to rumble. Great job Dave. Two thumbs up fer sure. Dan
  25. Man, do I like this build. It's gorgeous and I like it better than the real Chevy. Your body looks much better than the Chevy fer sure. Great build IMHO. Two thumbs up fer sure. Dan
