  1. The third one. This one also didn't have all the parts in it and I had to make the interior. I do have one more built but I don't have any pictures of it. It is an original from the 60's and I built it as Mr. Speed with the chopped top. I'll get some pics of it and post them as soon as I can. I had to rebuild the front end cause it was broken up from all the years that it has traveled to places. Dan
  2. The second. This one I had to gather parts to build it. Here it is with a 348 in it from a 58 Chevy. More to come. Dan
  3. Here is the first of four that I've built. First a custom that I restored. It has the Studebaker engine in it with a little more go power.
  4. Yep, a real nice lookin 58 Impala. I like the color combination also. You don't see many of these cars built stock. Dan
  5. Thanks Tom. We (club members) had a get together at Applebee's and had a good time. Maybe next time you guys can join us after the show. Most of the guys are crazy anyway (BSAC guys). Dan
  6. Marshall, that Corvette looks great. It's been a long time since I've seen it. Keep up the good work. The truck looks great also. Dan
  7. It sure was a great show and the after party wasn't half bad either. Dan
  8. Charlie, I use stuff called Montana medium dry acrylic enamel reducer, premium formulated # 4900. I think that I got it at a NAPA store years ago. I haven't had any problems using this reducer and the paint dries pretty close as using Lacquer thinner and doesn't affect the plastic. I used to use Testors thinner and the paint took forever to dry. Well, I ran out of Testors one day and I had this reducer and thought that I would give it a try and boy, was I glad I did. I haven't used anything else since. I use Lacquer thinner to clean my airbrush and other stuff. I haven't got the courage to try the Lacquer thinner yet I hope this helps ya. Dan
  9. Charlie, what I use to thin paint (Testors enamel) is medium drying Enamel reducer for 1:1 autos. It dries quick like using lacquer thinner and it doesn't hurt the plastic. I've not had any problems using this type of reducer. Dan
  10. Less than 24 hrs until the "EVENT" of the century, Ok, maybe of Columbus Ohio in March. Dan
  11. The doors on this Jeep are scratch built. Dan
  12. Bummer, but I understand. You will be missed fer sure. Take care my friend and maybe we'll see ya next year. Dan
  13. Donn, are you coming to our show this year? I hope so. You kinda neat to talk to and we like ya. Say hi to Kathy from me and a few others in the club. Take care and hope ta see ya. Dan
  14. Nope, like I said, the best, BSAC.  Hope ta see ya there Tom. I know your club is the best up North. Dan
  15. This is lookin like another great show and I'll be there along with the other great guys from the best club in Ohio (IMHO). Hope to see a lot of people from around the state and also from all the surrounding states as well. Dan
  16. All the builds that I've seen here are awesome. Now, if you ever get a chance to see the school bus in person, it is more than awesome. I can't find the right words to describe it but it won best of show in Columbus Ohio ( I forget what year ). It sure looks like Tom took a 1:1 bus and shrunk it down to scale. The greatest build of a bus ever. Great job Tom. :) Dan
  17. I use Frog tape from the Sherwin Williams store. The yellow Frog tape. It's like Tamiya tape but a hole lot more for your money. Dan
  18. I have very good results with Testors enamels and shooting them at 12 to 15 psi. I thin the paint by filling 1/4 paint in the bottle and then fill the bottle the rest of the way with Enamel Reducer (real car reducer). the paint sprays smoother and dries quicker using the reducer rather than model thinner. I use the 1/4 oz jars to paint. I made an adapter using a lid of one of the Testors jars and installed an Aluminum tube for the pickup tube. Works for me. Dan I found a pic of one of the tubes and lid that I use for spraying.
  19. WOW, is all I can say Bill. You sure have a lot of patience for sure. I know I don't. I'm just in the beginning stages of detail work. This is looking better each time I see it. Of course, I do like 59 Impalas as you can tell by my avatar. Keep up the good work and eye candy. Oh, by the way, I did get the 59 roof you sent me on the 60 and I will be working on that soon. Dan
  20. OH NO, NOT THE THE GIANT FINGER OF DOOM!!! AGAIN... PLEASE ,MAKE IT GO AWAY OR I'LL JUST PASS OUT. LOL. See ya there. Dan
  21. On this 57 Chevy I used Sophisticated Finishes rusting system on the exhaust along with some pastels. Dan
  22. I love the color Jason. Looks great. Looks like it has some real go power up front fer sure. Great job so far. Dan
  23. This 61 Chevy truck is one of the first kits that I built and that I still have. I almost thru it away because I practically destroyed it back in the day by stripping the paint off with a butter knife. Well, I didn't throw it away and here is what it looks like today. I have a few of the kits that I built back in the early 60's to the late 60's. Also I have three that I built while on Okinawa in the early 70's. Dan
  24. Now this is one real nice El-Camino. Very nice paint and all around great looks. Those skirts do it proud. Great job fer sure. I'd like that hat and gun fer my Nellybelle Jeep and Pat Brady. Dan
