  1. Well, I got some more done on this car tonight. I got the BMF done and the glass cleaned up and installed. Here are some pics of how she looks now. I'm getting close to getting er done. I'm not going to install the bumpers on this build. For one reason is that I don't have them. I have no clue of what happened to them. Dan
  2. Charlie, I think the engine from one of the Hogans heros kits would work. I used that engine in my 41 Willys that I tried to make close to stock as possible, for me anyway. Dan
  3. YES, now that looks killer Marshall. Great job my friend. I'm really glad that you got back on this and finishing this great car. Two thumbs up fer sure. :) Dan
  4. I to am a Vet from the Viet Nam era. I wish all Vets a happy Veterans day. U.S. Army 1967-1970. I spent most of my time on Okinawa in the 2nd log Cmd. at Naha Port. Have a great day guys and gals. I wish that every day could be as today. Dan Popeko
  5. Great to hear Marshall. To bad about the hood, but I know that you can get er fixed. Cain't wait to see how she looks. Dan
  6. I enjoyed this one a lot Harry. I knew it was a Packard but those tail lights kinda thru me off. All the 37-39 Packards that I looked at had the round tail lights. Then, at the last try, I found "the" picture and then had trouble getting it to show up. Thank you. Dan
  7. Thanks guys, and Brian, I liked your Lambo you brought last night to the meeting. Great save. Dan
  8. Thanks fellas. Here are a few more pics of it. Primer coat. Color coat. The chassis and bottom of the interior. This is as far as I've gotten so far. Next is the color of the interior and BMF I hope. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  9. They are in the same place as the Corvette. I didn't alter the chassis other than lengthen it to fit the Corvair wheel base. Here is a pic from the rear. The pipes are kinda low, but they are in the same position as on the Corvette. I'm not sure if I can move them a little to make them fit up under a little better. I'll check into than possibility. Dan
  10. I'm restoring this 67 Vette from one that I started to build back in the 80's. It's one of the Streeker Vette kits. The Lime Gold one on the right is the one that I'm rebuilding. As you can see, it sets a little lower than the Blue one. It took a lot of grinding on the chassis and the interior to get it lower. I also cut out the fenders front and rear. Here you can see it after stripping the paint off. I also had to scribe the door openings because the lines were kinda faint. Here you can see the putty that I had to add to the rear end. The body has a lot of sink marks on it and had to be filled. I'll post some more pics of the work being done. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  11. WOW, now that's the best news that I've herd in the last 30 seconds. :D Good to see the announcement of the announcement back again. Enthusiasum is back also. Best club in Columbus fer sure. Dan
  12. No sir, that's a different build all together. I'm restoring it. It is a 67 and I lowered it a tad. Kinda like a racer in a way. I'll post some pics of it.
  13. Thanks for the kind words guys. Here are some pics of the finished car. This was a fun build for me fer sure. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  14. I think it would be a little safer, but that would depend on who's driving I supose. :D Dan
  15. Thanks for all the kind comments guys. I used a '77 Corvette frame underneath. I had to lengthen the frame about 1 foot in scale to fit the Corvair wheel base. I had a lot of fun building this car. This was the first time that I tried doing this type of build and I really enjoyed it. I installed the fan blade and radiator hose today and I haven't taken any pics of the finished car yet. I have all the build pics in my photobucket if you would like to see it from the begginning thru the finished car. Dan
  16. This is my idea of what a Corvair should have been built like. I'm almost finished with this build. Here are some pics of what she looks like so far. The new trunk. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  17. Thanks for the kind words. I'm having some trouble with the front end. I used a Camaro sub frame and it's to wide for the Ford so I have to modify some of the parts to get it to work. I'm in the process now of trying to narrow the front end pieces. Dan
  18. Here's a 53 Ford that I'm working on. It's still in primer.
  19. Thanks John for the info. Dan
  20. Yes Charlie, this is the Buckeye Scale Auto Club in Columbus Ohio. We are getting bigger and better every year. I belong to the club and I am also a vender there. We've had a lot of great models show up at our contest and the venders ain't bad either. Our upcomming show should be a great one again in 2014. If you ever get a chance to come please do. Jim Haught from Scale Auto has been there all three previous years to take pictures and we're hoping that someone from Model Cars magazine will come and take some pictures also. Hope to see a bunch of new faces this coming March. Dan

Odd color choice but I like it. Looks great. On the hood, you might check out the chrome trim on the bottom of the hood at the front tip. I had to thin mine down quite a bit to get the hood to fit properly. What I had to do was trim the top part of the trim piece until it fit right. It was molded to thick and that is what caused my problem. Hope this makes since. Dan
  22. That's what I used to do and my Mom yelled at me for doing using one of her knives. She only had to yell once. I did find a well used butter knife and used that from then on. I wanted to buy one of these Auto cutters but I couldn't come up with the money. I always spent the money on more kits instead. :D Thanks for the memories. Dan
  23. Good to hear this Jim, and congratulations. I have a claim in also for injuries back in 1967. I've been fighting this since 1970 when I got out. I was told that my records were lost in a fire in 1980 and now they have been found. The VA went back one year for me also and I'm fighting them to go back to at least 1980 when I was told the records were lost. 1980 is when I have proof in black and white that the VA turned me down and that's where they need to go back to as far as I'm concerned for back pay. I won't quit until I get the results that are due me. Dan
  24. Here's one that I did. I built it as a standard Nova with a 383 stroker in it. A non SS car that is. Nice kits fer sure. Dan
  25. Here is a pic of a 53 Studebaker that I painted a three fade paint job. The bottom was painted first with a light silver, then the darker silver was sprayed on and lastly, the blue was sprayed on. All of this was done freehand, no mask. It's very easy to do this, at lest it was for me. Here is a pic of a resin Buick custom that I painted, only it's a two tone paint job. This was also done freehand. I use Testors enamels for 99% of my painting. Give it a go and have fun. Dan
