  1. Thanks Marshall. I have more fun rebuilding these old glue bombs that I do building a new kit. They are more of a challenge for me. Like trying to get them apart without braking anything. Dan
  2. Thanks fellas. I appreciate your kind words. Dan
  3. Well, here are some pics of the glass that I worked on last night. This first one shows what it looked like after using a fingernail sanding pad. This next one shows after using sanding pads from 1200-4000 grit. This last one shows after polishing it with Novus #3 and #2 polishing compounds. The bottom part of the glass will not be seen cause it is under the body, so I'm not going to worry about that section. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  4. Thanks guys for the kind words. I have the hood that came with the car, so I don't need that. Thanks for the offer though. I found a set of tail lights with the chrome surrounds in my parts box. I also found a pair of rear bumpers that I can use. I don't know what kit they came with but I do have them. The front bumper and grill is somewhat messed up, but I think I can use it. The bottom sections of the bumper is missing so I rounded off the ends and it looks like an altered bumper. This was glued in almost solid when I got it and I worked at it until it came loose and I was able to remove it. I'll get some pic up tomorrow. My battery for the camera took a dive tonight and I have to charge it. I also worked on the rear glass to clean up the glue on it and I will post pics of that also. The engine was horrible also. I did manage to get it apart tonight. I need to find an alternator for it. Who ever built this glued a tank on where the alternator should be. DUH. I also have to find either a manifold with carbs or try and find the top of the fuel injection and the air duck for it. The wheels are trashed. The vinyl tires made mush out of them from all the years I guess. So I have to use some different ones from the parts box. Well, I think I've yaked enough for now. So I'll post some pics tomorrow. Until then, stay tuned. Dan P.S. Buy the way Raoul, nice 64. The color looks good.
  5. Thanks guys. It was a fun project for me. I have more to restore. Dan
  6. Thanks Marshall. I'm going to paint the underside of the hood and the interior next. I think that I'm going to spray Future over the body, not sure yet. I also need to redo the top. It has some spots that need to be fixed. Looks like a little dust got on it before the color was sprayed. I just didn't see it before I sprayed. Oh well, that's the way the 'ol ball bounces I guess. Dan
  7. Thanks guys. I need to paint underneath the hood and the interior now, plus I need to redo the top. Dan
  8. Thanks Ron. I'm sure that yours will come out just fine. Got any pics of it? Dan
  9. That's true Brian. The only thing is, I didn't know what I got at first. I'm sure we (Hank and I) both didn't know what this was. Lucky, I guess. Anyway, I hope that I can do this up right. Dan
  10. Man, I like that Black one. Here are some more pics of what has been done so far. This is where she is at, at the moment. I polished it last night and I need to redo the top cause it has some spots on it that needs to be fixed. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  11. Thanks guys, and yeah, I'm one of those experts from the early 60's also. The color is Brilliant Gold Pearl, from Micheal's, mixed in clear and sprayed over White. I use Pearl-X pearls on the builds that I spray pearls on. Dan
  12. Thanks for the kind words guys. And Dan, I never thought of that. Thanks fer the information. I think that I'm gonna paint it Black as that is the color that came to me this morning. There is a lot of work to this build, but that's what I like about GLUE BOMBS. Dan
  13. Thanks Brian. See ya at the next meetin. If you can come visit us at the Hobbyland store in Graceland Mall on Friday nights. We kinda have fun there every Friday night. We either build or mostly just talk, but we do enjoy the company. Dan
  14. Thanks Jeff. I'm hoping to build it somewhere between stock and hot rod. I don't have all the parts to make it stock. Dan
  15. Thanks guys for the kind comments. I painted the sun visors white to go along with the white on the seats, but I do see what ya mean. Harry, the detail is so worn off on the car that I didn't think that the detail would show up on the moldings. They are Gold in color on the real car and I'll see what I can do on them. The Bonneville scrips on the front fenders and on the trunk is so worn off that I know that I can't foil them, so I just left them alone. But what can you expect from a real bad glue bomb? At least the grill and bumpers were in tact and I was able to Alclad them. I had a lot of fun with this rebuild. Dan
  16. Thanks fellas for the kind words. Dan, I have no idea how lucky I was. When I laid eyes on this thing at the show I just had to have it. It was almost all there. The fender spears and the original air cleaners were missing and I was hoping for an up top but it wasn't there. Anyway, I really wanted this car and I traded the guy an unbuilt mustang, in the box, for it. He was happy and so was I. He has a Johan 70 Roadrunner that I need also. I need that cause I have one plus a GTX that are both missing a lot of parts and I could make some resin parts from the doner. Dan
  17. I rebuilt this from a real bad glue bomb. I had a lot of fun rebuilding this car. The bumpers and grill are Alclad. Thanks fer lookin and comments welcome. Dan
  18. Well, here is one that I built back in 65, but never painted it. I'm in the process of rebuilding it and I'm trying to paint it like the real car. This is what I started with. The base coat. I put the BMF under the final color. Here it is in black before I paint it blue over the black. I add more pics so stay tuned and thanks fer lookin. Dan
  19. Thanks Craig. I like the 8 lugs also. Dan
  20. A friend of mine gave this build to me last night. I thought at first that it was the MPC 67 Vette, but when I got home, I took a closer look at it and it's the 65 Vette from AMT. There are some pieces missing from it. The rear bumpers, the chrome surrounds for the tail lights, the top of the fuel injection and the air duck from that to the front end. The wheels are trashed from the vinyl tires and they will have to be replaced. Here are some pics of how it looks now. I had to cut the glass out. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  21. WOW, looks like I kinda fergot about this car. Well, I did finish it. I had a lot of fun rebuilding this kit. Here are some pics of the finished car. I hope ya like it. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  22. Looks great Tom. I think you sent me the interior parts from this car. My memory is not the best now-a-days. I used those parts in the Gold one that I built as a drag car. If it wasn't for you I couldn't have finished this car. Many thanks go out to you for the help. I hope that you can finish this car. Dan
  23. Does anyone have any pictures of Knafel Pontiac's Tin Indians, from the early 60's into the early 70's? I would like to build them and need pictures and decals. They ran Catalina's, GTO's, Firebirds and a Canadian Pontiac (like the Nova 66 or 67). Thanks fer any help. Dan
  24. The beginning of Thunder Road When the feds in there 57 Chevy chase Robert Mitchum in his 50 Ford and he runs away from them and they are stuck with his rear bumper on the front of there car. Dan
  25. I found a picture of the fourth one. This is before I rebuilt the front end. I didn't do anything else to it. I just left it the way I built it back in the 60's. Thanks fer lookin at my Studebaker's. Dan
