  1. Lookin great Bill. I had a 1:1 Impala that was Roman Red. I loved that car. Unfortunately I was drafted and had to leave it to get destroyed by one of my brothers when I was 12000 miles away. Oh well, that's the way the old ball bounces I guess. He at least put the 348 in a 60 Impala. I love your build.
  2. Email sent, thank you Tom.
  3. Looks great to me Drew. Please keep posting pics. Dan
  4. I want to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Dan
  5. Nice Falcon. Great save. I rebuilt a 65 Corvette awhile back. The body wasn't in to bad of shape and not painted, but, the rest was real bad. Here are some pics of some of the parts that needed work. The glass needed a lot of work to get it lookin good. This how she turned out. I was able to save most of the original car and used wheels from the parts box along with the rear bumpers. Rebuilding these kind of builds is a lot of fun and work to get them done. I don't know of any site that is dedicated to rebuilds, but I sure would like to know if there are some. Dan
  6. I've built a few glue bombs and love doing this. I like to save old kits as well. Here are before and after pics of a 61 Bonneville convertible that I traded an unbuilt car for. I've rebuilt some of the ones that I built as a kid as well. This is a lot of fun to try and get everything apart without breaking anything, saving all that you can and then rebuilding and saving it from the land fill. Dan
  7. Welcome Terry. If you get some time on Friday nights, a bunch of the guys from Buckeye Scale Auto meet at Hobby land in Graceland mall on N. High st. Your more than welcome to come and visit, build or just shoot the breeze with us. We get there around 5ish and stay until almost closing time. Dan
  8. Beautiful fer sure. I like it very much. I did something similar with two 53 Fords. Although I didn't channel them, on one I did chop the top and used 56 Packard tail lights on both of them. What color is your custom? I want to do a Chevy now. Probably a 56 with the Packard lights on it also. I see that yours is also a diecast and you did a wonderful job working on it. Congrats. Dan
  9. I used Castrol Super Clean on a 53 Studebaker custom that I built back in the day and used Testors putty on it. It took that putty off along with the paint, so, I think you should be ok. Dan
  10. I'd like to see what you are going to do with this kit also. I built two of them as the "Twin" "Tin Indians" from Knafel Pontiac in Akron Ohio. Nice kits to work with. Dan
  11. Lookin good so far and it's nice to see someone restore and old build instead of trashing it. Dan
  12. Lookin real good so far. I did a couple of these cars and used 56 Packard tail lights. These are good lookin cars to customize fer sure. Dan
  13. Real nice build fer sure and it's not a Ford. Now, I don't have anything against Fords just to let ya know and it's nice to see something different than a Ford build. The 409 looks great settin in there also. Looks more like a Hot Rod than a Rat Rod to me that is. Great build Jeff. Dan
  14. Yep, looks good fer sure Mike. I love using Alclad for this kind of stuff. Thanks fer posting this. Dan
  15. Knafel Pontiac in Akron Ohio. They ran the "Tin Indian" cars from 1960 to 1970. The 62 Catalina (Anderson Pontiac) was changed to Knafel. The 66 GTO The 67 Firebird These are three of the cars that were run. Dan
  16. I agree about the Johan kits. AMT's 53 Studebaker is a very good kit. Lindberg's 53 Ford is one also. It has the best flathead in any kit as far as I'm concerned. There's more, but I can't think of them right now. Dan
  17. I like what you did to this truck Joel. I like the color. I combined AMT's and MPC's to make a dump truck. I remember seeing small dump trucks when I was a kid and thought I could replicate one. Just an idea fer someone who might want to do something different. Dan
  18. Your welcome and well deserved Chris.
  19. I've seen this car in person and what Chris did to this looks really great. Dan
  20. Nice work Iceman. Looks great. Do you have another pic of the hoses fer the water? Dan
  21. Great tip Snake. I'm gonna use it fer sure. Dan
  22. Here are a couple of mine. Both are 53 Fords with 56 Packard tail lights and other custom stuff. Dan
  23. Here's a 41 Willy's that was found in a barn and needed alot of work to get road ready. Barf Breath removed it from the frame and did his magic on it. It has a 56 Chevy rear end and a Willy's 4 banger to get it moving. Of course he did a tad bit of work on the engine also. He installed a lowered front axle for a 40 Ford coupe that he had laying around in the garage. He also found a front bumper from a 40 Ford truck and a different left door and started driving it for the rest of the summer.
  24. Ok. Here is a 53 Ford custom that I did as one that's in progress and the guy wants to drive it a little cause he has no money to finish it yet. It has 56 Packard tail lights, custom parts up front from the 57 Chevy (AMT). The skirts came from the parts box and there is a Camaro sub frame up front also with a 350 for go power. Chopped top and it still needs a little work on the left rear fender where you can see a little bondo on top. Wire wheels are from the convertible kit along with the dual exhaust. I hope ya like it and thanks fer lookin. Dan
  25. I made my own by using an old bottle top from a testors jar and a piece of aluminum tube and super glued that to the lid. I then drilled a small hole on the top for a vent hole. I also bent the tube on an angle so it would fit into the air brush. I use this all the time when I need to spray Alclad. I also put in a small beebee to keep the paint mixed when I shake the bottle. Works great for me. Dan
