  1. I use Sophisticated finishes also and love it. I rusted a 57 Chevy and a 49 Ford with it. Here are a few pics of them. There are more pics of both in my photobucket if you would like to see them. Dan
  2. I can't wait to see this Bradley. I haven't done a thing to mine other than fixing the bad body sink holes and poor mold joints. I've been concentrating on my 53 Ford custom with the Packard tail lights. I got it finished and I'll have it at the next meeting. I hope you can make the meeting. Take care and build on my friend. Dan
  3. Thanks a lot guys for the kind words and Mike, I'll have it tonihgt at the hobby store, plus I'll be bringing it to our next meeting. Dan
  4. Thanks for all the kind words guys and it's a custom not kustom Dan
  5. I've got er done. The hubcaps turned out not to bad for Alclad and the headliner turned out not to shabby either. Here are some pics of the finished look. I hope ya like 'er. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  6. My favorite model I think has to be Nellybelle. This was the first time that I spent a lot of time scratch building parts for a model. I scratch built the doors out of brass and the hinges are doll house hinges cut down to fit. The hinge on the hood is the scale piano hinge. The box thingies on top of the rear fenders are evergreen plastic. And I used parts from 5 different Jeeps to make it. Here are some pics of Nellybelle During the build. I also scratch built the trailer hitch. The correct license plate number. Engine wired correctly. With Pat Brady (not finished)and Bullet. I had a lot of fun building this Jeep and I learned a lot of different skills doing this. Dan
  7. Nice lookin Rambler. Use Future floor polish for a clear coat. It won't attack the decal. I think the name has changed on the Future, it's now called Pledge with Future I think. Someone else here might know the full name for it. I still have the old Future and it's lasted a long time for me. Keep up the good work. Dan
  8. Thanks Jim. I painted the interior black and green last night. I also got the parts for the chassis painted and polished the body and hood. I rubbed thru on the lower front corner of the right door and front fneder which I'll have to fix. There is also a spec of dirt that didn't rub out on the hood, so I'll have to repaint that. I hope to get more done today andhave some pics up tonight. Dan
  9. Well, I'm kinda waitin fer the paint to dry a little before I polish it. I am using a 53 Chevy grill. I had to strip the chrome off and then I used Alclad. Here are three more pics of where I'm at now. With skirt Without skirt I think that I'm gonna use the skirts. I'm also thinking about painting the interior black and green. At first I was thinking white and green, but I'm leaning towards the black and green. What do you guys think? Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  10. Great build. I love the color. Looks goregous that's fer sure. Dan
  11. WOW, this one's gonna be a good one. I like it so far. Keep it coming. Dan
  12. I would say a die cast model. I took one of the 41 Chevy's and removed the flames and painted the front end flat black, like it's in process. I also used Monograms 53 Corvette kit for parts. I used the 6 cylinder engine and tranny, wheels and tires and steering wheel to represent an early 50's hot rod. Looks perty good ifin ya ask me. Oh yeah, I also used BMF on the chrome trim. Dan
  13. Thanks guys, and no I'm going with just the one color Bradley. If I would have thought more about it before I might have planed something like that, but I think this is all that it's gonna be. For now, that is. Ya just never know. Dan
  14. I got the color on er last night. Here are some pics. Mockup of the taillights The lights and bumper are Alclad. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  15. Lookin good Bradley. I like the 61 Special too. I had one of those way back in the early 60's when they came out. Including the trailer which both are long gone now. I haven't touched my Buick since I found the sink problems. I think that I fixed them but other projects have taken front door for now. Dan
  16. Yeah, I hear ya Bradley. I haven't done much with my Buick either. Dan
  17. Yep, I'll bring them and I hope that you can be there. I know you have to work, but just maybe? Dan
  18. Thanks fellers. I have some more pics of what I've done this morning. It sets just the way I like. It has some big meats out back and some narrower ones up front. I did have the same big meats up front but I don't think that you could turn very good that way, so I changed them. Here are the pics. Hope ya enjoy. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  19. Thanks guys and that's what I was trying to accomplish. The look of a not finished project but wantin to go racin. Dan
  20. I've got the taillight housings painted with Alclad and I have to redo the rear bumper cause it came out to dard and rough lookin. I sanded the bumper down and now I have to repaint it. Thanks for the correct spelling for the Hirohita Merc Bradley. Dan
  21. Yep, it has the blown 400 that came in the kit and it's a goin back in. I also have some real wide meats to go under them there fenders don't cha know. Dan
  22. That's cause I didn't have it with me And thanks fer the comment. I was hoping that that's what it looks like. Dan
  23. Well, I started bulding this car way back in 1969 wile I was stationed on Okinawa. I won't say it's a glue bomb but I would say it's a putty bomb. It has a lot of putty on it and i'm going to try and fix it. Here are some pics of what it looks like now. I hope ya like it. This is the kit of the Kinafel Pontiacs Tin Indian. I used the decals on a 65 GTO that was also a Tin Indian. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  24. Thanks Bradley and yes I had it with me but it was a darker gray. I've done a little more work on it and I need to spray some more gray on it. I have chosen a color for it. It's going to be a very light green, something like the Hirohato Merc. I think I spelled the name right. Anyway, it's going to be a pale light green. I hope anyway. Dan
  25. Here are some pics of the Datsun drag truck that I just finished. It is a combnation of the Rising Sun and Scavanger truck kits. On this next pic take a look at the underside of the hood and let me know if it looks like fiberglass. I used a dryer sheet (used) and glued it with Elmer's glue and then painted it. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
