Yes sir, that would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. Dan

Yes, I tried what Lyle did and I'm not as good as he is and it didn't work for me. What I have done is scrape, file and sand the Belair trim off. It was a pain but I got it done. I am happy that I have this kit that's for sure. I just wish it was easier to do. Just my skills I guess. Dan
-
Lyle, they could have made the trim as a decal like the AMT kit. That would have made it alot easier to convert it to a 210. Dan
-
Yep, you're right, I just checked and the stick tranny is in there. My bad. Never mind. LOL Dan
-
DUH, I'll have to check that out. I sure hope so cause I want the stick trany. Thanks fer the info. Dan

I've been waiting for this kit to come out for many many years and when it finally comes out I'm very dissapointed. First, it has the belair trim molded on so if you want a 210 you have to file, sand or whatever to get the trim off. Next, they put in an automatic tranny instead of a stick. If anything, there should have been both trannys so if ya wanted to you could make it either way. Other than that, I like the kit. It's just that I have to find a three or four speed tranny to use in it. At the same time, this was made from the 150 Black widow I think. Well, that kit has the automatic tranny in it also. A real bummer. I was going to use the tranny from this kit for the 210, but no, it's an automatic. You can't even make a correct Black widow out of it. Well, that's my rant and I'm over it now. I'm just real dissapointed in Revell since they seem to be trying to make better kits fer us to build. I guess that I'll go build something now. Dan

115+ in a 59 Impala back in 67. 125+ in a 70 Chevelle SS396 (402). 115+ in a 2002 Z28. The Chevelle scared the heck out of me it was so quick. The 59 scared me at first cause we heard stories of them getting light in the rear because of the fins back there. The stories were wrong that's fer sure, that car just hugged the ground over 100 mph. The Z28 could have gone faster but I just let off the gas. Dan -
Thanks Mike. If it is off of Maxtown Rd, then I remember where it is. Plus, I do have the newsletter. Dan

Mike, I've had some problems also and that's why I haven't been at the meetings. I also forgot about the December meeting. DUH. I will be there this Thursday though. Lookin forward to being there. Dan

I have to build this one as a race car cause all of the interior is missing. I have no idea where it went. The kit is over 40 years old and they could have gotten lost way back when. It is going to be powered by the 348 from the AMT 58 Chevy and the front part of the floor board is also from the 58 from the parts box. Anyway here is a pic of what it looks like now. I also had to repair the front end parts so the wheels would be able to turn. I had to scratch build the floor and part of the steering parts for the front end. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

It's been awhile since I've posted anything so here is a 53 Ford that I'm customizing. I'm using 56 Packard tail lights out back and the custome headlights from the 57 Chevy by AMT. That's about all that I'm doing to the body. I also used the rear rolled pan from the 57 as the bumper. I had to narrow it a tad bit and then fill in the bottom part to creat the bumper. Here are some pics Hope ya like and thanks fer lookin. Dan

Marshall, those speakers look great man. I'm glad ya could use them. I did measure them with a 1/25th scale and they measure out to 12 inch speakers. You are the first one to use them in a vehicle and they look awesome. Dan -

Second time around...
59 Impala replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First, I like the van and the Vette Marshall. As for re-living the past. The way I'm doing it is by rebuilding the ones that I made back then, like the 53 Studebaker, 49 Ford and Merc, 53 Ford trucks and the 63 Impala. I do enjoy redoing them and seeing the difference in skills that I've learned since then. Thanks for bringing this topic up. Dan -
Amazing pics that's fer sure gregg and Harry. By any chance do any of you have some pics of the '56 Packard? I would like to see some or one especially of the rear end and also the grill. If not, then oh well. Thanks, Dan
-
Thanks for showing the pics Marshall. It does look kinda sharp. I like it. I hope you can redo the rear door. I also like the color. Great build. What parts are you waiting for? I'm really looking forward to seeing this one finished. Dan
