Tuffone is right, the flares came in the kit. These trucks were horendous. Parts fit is really terrible. It takes alot of work just to get things to line up. But, the end result looks good. I have one that I made as stock as possible, it doesn't come with a stock seat or exhaust system. I had to fabricate an exhaust system and had to use the custom seat. Here are a couple pics of that one. As you can see the seats set to high up in the cab. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

I am bringing this one out of hibernation and I'm going to finish it. I started this a long time ago and don't remember when or where I posted it, so here are some pics of where I'm at. Hope ya like. This pic shows her last night before I started painting parts again. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Clay, I found the Avanti's. I also found a 53 that I forgot about. So, I put all the Studebakers together and took a picture and here they are. The black one is the one with the broken top. I need to fix that. I do have another top from the Mr Speed car that I can use. The white one is the one that I forgot about. I have a roll bar in it and was going to make some kind of race car. Both of the Avanti's need repaired and the green one has alot of the bodywork sanded off. I didn't do this, I got it that way. Mr. Speed needs repaired and I have one still in the box. I will get to them one of these days. Dan

I have a couple 53's and Avanti's. In this pic you can see the first one that I built way back in the early 60's when it first came out. I built it as Mr. Speed In this pic you can see the second one that I started but because of an accident I haven't done anything to it since In this pic you can see the damage that needs fixed. I thought I had some pics of the Avanti's but I can't find them. They both are real old builds and one needs rebuilt badly. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Well, she's finished as far as I know. I do have a little touch up here and there, but for all purposes, she's finished. I had a lot of fun rebuilding this even with all the set backs. Here are some pics of the finished look. Hope ya like. I can't make up my mind on wheather to use the body side moldings or not. What do you guys think? Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Thanks CB. I have done a little more work on this. I'm almost done. Here are a couple of pics of what she looks like so far. I have to let it dry for the exhaust. This thing sure is fragile though. Some of the parts keep coming off maybe because of the rebuild and the parts are thinner or maybe just my fumbly fingers I should be finished pretty soon. Dan

I understand Bill. You know the sad thing about the Nomad is you can't use the parts for anything else unless you swap them with the 55 of the same period, or at least I couldn't. I do believe that you will like the new 57 150 when you do get it. Dan

I matched up the bodies of Revell's new 57 to AMT's old 57 and they match up perfectly. The Revell model looks pretty good. This new issue beats the old Revell 57's hands down. The old issues were junk in my oppinion. I have one of the 57 Nomads that I started to build years ago and got so frustrated with it I put it back in the box and put it on the shelf. Granted, it is detailed, but the parts look terrible and have to be reworked just to look right, example: the exhaust pipes fitting the manafolds look terrible hanging down underneath and have to be reworked to fit right. The body on the old kit looks out of proportion on the sides. I just wish that they made a 210 2dr sedan or at least put a rear seat in this 150. I still like the kit though. Kudos to Revell for this kit. Dan

Here are some more pics after a little work done today. I had to fabricate a gas tank for this cause there isn't one on the car. I also installed a gas filler tube on the right rear fender from a 53 Ford truck. Hope ya like. I just had to install the Grayhound on the hood. Why, you may ask? I don't know. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Well, here are some pics of what I have to put together now. There is still some work that needs done, but I'm gettin there. This is the look that I'm going for. Hope ya like. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

I really like your 59. Nice color. Looks awesome. The only problem I found with these kits are they have the powerglide tranny in them. I like the three speed or four speed tranny's. I had a 1:1 with the three speed and a 348. Man that thing would fly. Dan

Nice old rusty Chevrolet. I like the rust over the headlights, nice touch and hard to do also I think. Dan

Just a FANTASTIC build Dave. Dan

Well, I am kinda bummed at the moment. I had to do a little work on the hood and when I primed it and went to put it down, it fell on the floor upside down. So, now I have to sand it down and reprime it again. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes Dan

Well, I got a little done today. Not much though. I painted the bucket seats, inner door panels and primered the inner fenders and some parts on the frame. No pics today. I'm gettin her finished slowly but surely. Dan

Thanks for the kind comments guys. This is turning out to be a work of love for me. When I think I'm almost finished something else pops up. Well, I think the pop ups are about finished now so I can get-er-done. I wanted to do something different than the typical builds you see of the Willy's as gassers or customs, but not going completely stock and this is what came about. It has been frustrating at times but mostly a lot of fun coming up with something different. If it wasn't for some help from Bryan at BnB Auto Builders, this wouldn't have happened. He sent me parts that were needed to complete this build. More pics to come so stay tuned. Dan

OK, it's been a long time since I've posted anything on this build and here are some pics of what she looks like now. I thought that I was getting close to being finished but I noticed that she needed inner fenders and I found some in the parts box. They are from the 41 Plymouth kit and I had to fit them a little. I think she looks alot better with the inner fenders. I'm trying to get-er-done. Stay tuned Dan

Another one finished. WOW, that's two finished in the same day. For me that's almost impossible. Anyway, here are some pics of this one. Hope ya like it. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Ok guys, she's done. I had alot of fun doing this one. From what I started with it didn't turn out to bad. Here are some pics of the finished car. Hope ya like her. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Randy, your's looks just like mine but mine is a Lindberg kit and it say's 7/16's on the box. Here are a couple of pics. By the way, I like your Red one. I know the box that mine came in shows a different body stile, but what came in the box is the bug eye. Dan

If you go here you should be able to find out about how to use Future http://www.swannysmodels.com/Tools.html I hope this link works. This is the first time that I've tried to link someone to a place. Dan
-
Not much of a how to. All I did was to add some pearl powder (that I got at Michales craft store) in the Future and spray it thru my airbrush. The Future is already thin enough to spray and the powder really doesn't thicken it up. I understand that the name has changed from Future floor polish to something else but I don't remember what it is called now. Maybe someone here knows the new name. You do have to be careful when spraying it on because it is so thin and can run easily. And you just spray it as you normally would spray any paint. Hope this helps. Dan
-
Thanks Jose. This is another one that I used the Future floor wax on. I mixed the pearl powder with the Future and then sprayed it on. It works great every time. Dan
-
Future Floor wax. You can spray it on or brush it on. It really makes them shine and won't hurt the finish. Dan

Thanks guys. I'm going to use a set of wheels that I'll have to take a pic of and post them. I don't know where they came from because one of the guys in our club gave them to me. The kit is a Lindberg kit from some time ago (I don't really know when it was made) It says on the box it is 7/16 what ever that means. It's really close to 1/25 scale I think. Stay tuned. Dan
