This one is going to be a 60's hot rod. I'm going by memory of one that a guy in Akron had. It was Black with a flathead and red wheels with white walls. Here are some pics of where I'm at at the moment. Hope ya like. Thanks fer lookin. Dan P.S. I will be making a 49 Ford the same way cause there was one of them there also. These two guys were always racing each other and the Merc always won. We couldin't believe our eyes, the Merc beating the Ford.

I might as well put mine here also. This is a build of one that I owned back in the day. Only mine was 348, 3 speed on the tree and no power anything except the engine Dan -
I just seen this post. Mike, a great dio subject. Where did you get the mower? Did you scratch build it, and if you did, do you have pics of how you did it? Post 'em if ya got 'em. Dan

Awhile back I built a Jeep to represent "Nellybelle" from the Roy Rogers TV show. Well, I wanted to build Pat Brady and now I'm attempting to build him. This is my first figure and I'm using the instructions from a book by Ken Hamilton, so, wish me luck. This picture is just the begining. Hope ya like Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Not much to update but here are a couple of pics to show where I'm at. The first one show's all the parts in a box. The next one is sorta, kinda, of a mockup I guess Hope ya like and thanks fer lookin. Dan

I also use what some call glue-putty. Put some cut up sprue in a bottle and add liquid glue and let set overnight, or a couple of days, and you have styrine glue-putty, same as the plastic. Just my two cents and it's very cheap. Dan

Thanks guys. I don't know about guts or not, but, I do have a fasination for these cars. Plus, it's something really different. I'm having a lot of fun doing this. The going is kinda slow though. I've never done this before and I'm learning as I go along. Stay tuned. Dan

Thanks guys. Mark, it's a 1/24th scale P51 belly tank that one of the guys in my club gave me for this project. I don't know what kit it came from. For some reason I've started building Land Speed cars. Why, I don't really know. I have always been interested in them and you don't see many in kit form. I've built a French jet fighter into a LSR and am working on a MIG 21. I will keep the pics coming as I go along, so, stay tuned. Dan

Here are some more pics of the build. Hope ya like. This pic shows the 49 Merc engine with a 40 Ford tranny I used cause the Merc's tranny is to long. Also, the radiator is a 49 and 50 Ford radiators cut down and sandwiched together and the 49 top was used to cover them both. I also hard piped the water lines instead of using hoses. The seat is from the parts box as is the roll bar. The exhausts are custom ones from a Corvette cut down and installed on the sides. The front and rear axles are from a 32 Ford. The front wheels are from a 29 Ford and the rear ones are from the 32 Ford. On the bottom are two fuel cells made from drop tanks from 1/72nd scale planes. I'm really enjoying building this model as this is another first for me to do. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Thanks a bunch Ray, and don't worry, I'm not planning on smoking again. Dan

Thanks Mr. Metallic I put his link in my favorite places. Dan

What a great idea. I think that I'll start smoking again so I can use this idea. Not really, but I will ask some of my friends who do smoke to save me some of their ashes. This is really a great idea. Thanks bunches. Dan

I'm also interested in these tail lights too. Any help in the address? Dan

I was noseing around and found this thread. Well, what I do is cut up some plastic sprue in about 1/8th inch pieces in a bottle and add some liquid glue. Close the lid and wait a day or so and I have glue-putty. VERY cheap and you use up the sprue instead of throwing it away. It does take a couple of days to dry, depending on how thick you put it on, but it is very strong. After all, it's plastic after the glue evaporates. I've used it on three models now and will use it all the time. I also use the bondo glazing putty for small spots or scratches. Just my two cents Dan

Here are some pics of my next LSC that I'm building. It is a MIG 21 highly modified. I used the rear horizontal stabilizers for what I call "wingies" and used the bomb underneath the fuselage cut in half for the wheel housings. I also used a part from the last LSC I made for the front part of the housings. Hope ya like. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

She is finished. Here are some pics outside. I also took home 2nd place in my clubs monthly contest, which was a surprise to me. Hope ya like. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Rowdy, don't wory, I didn't take it that way. I enjoy anyone who remembers any of those guys back in the day. I remember Breedlove's car well. And Steve, what can I say other than WOW your car looks great. Here are three more pics of mine. I'm almost finished with it. Hope ya like. Thanks fer lookin. Dan

Rowdy, if ya look on the tail you'll see A.R.Fons. I did that for Art Arfons. I met him and he is a great guy. So, I thought that I would show recognition for him and his legacy and ledgend. But Breedlove is another good choice. Thanks for the comment. Dan

Yeah, I guess so, but it really bums me out. Anyway, I'll ger 'er done by this weekend. I hope. Dan

Thanks Billy. I'm almost finished with it. I have to be done by this Sunday for my model clubs meeting and this thing is giving me fits. The stabalizer on top cracked on me today and I have to redo it. It's been one thing after another with this build. It's like it doesn't want to be finished, but I'll get 'er done one way or another. Dan
