  1. Ok guys, I've started another one while I still have alot of unfinished ones Well here goes. This is a Bug Eye Sprite that I got from my hobby store. The guy couldn't sell it because it was put together, and believe me, it was a reall bad Glue bomb with one wheel missing and the front bumper broken and part of it was lost. The windshield was a mess with glue all over it and the car was almost empossible to get apart. Sometimes the freezer thing doesn't work and you have to go the drastick way (what that is I don't really know, just had to say something I guess) Anyway, I got it apart and I'm trying to get-er-done. Here are some pics of what she looks like so far. I used red primer, then Testors 1104 Red. Over that I used clear mixed with some gold pearl. Then I used Future mixed with some more gold pearl. Hope ya like. The pics really don't show how good the gold pearl turned out over the Red. Hope ya like. More to come. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  2. I am building another land speed car and this time it's a rocket car. I painted it flat black and then painted it a pearl gold powder mixed with Future over the black and this is how it looks now. It is a drop tank from an F111 made to accept a canopy and scratch built the rear wheel pods. Hope ya like it Thanks fer lookin. Dan
  3. I'm a member of the Columbus IPMS and I build mostly cars and trucks, and I will be there. I'll be one of the guys taking your money for the raffle. Dan
  4. Every time it comes on when I'm working on a build and it's very quiet in the room, it scares the ###### out of me. Dan
  5. Guys, we're all wrong. It's two pics of a thingy used for somethin. Dan aka Dr Peeko
  6. This is one beautiful and awesome Charger Juergen. I love the color and the vinal top looks awesome. You've done an excellent job on the interior also. This build is just great. Keep up the good work. Dan
  7. Thanks guys. I'm keeping up the faith and hope. I do have a good since of humor and try to focus on that to kinda ease the pain sorta speekin. Dan
  8. Thanks Hondo. I appreciate it. I sure hope that the people in the right places start doing the right thing to help the people of this country and not waisting money on people who hate us. Right now I don't know what I'm going to do other than colect unemployement and look for another job. But with my other problems I really dought that I'll get another job. We'll see. Thanks again. Dan
  9. Guys, I 'm sorry that I haven't been here much the past few months. When it rains it pours. Things haven't been to good here since last year. One of my wifes sisters past away in October and it has been very bad here. My wife was very very close to her and it is still hard for my wife most of the time. She is slowly getting better, but it will take some time. Two weeks ago my company laid off 76 employees and moved some of us to third shift. Then last Thrusday they laid 100 more off. So, this Friday is my last day. It has taken 30 some years to get a good job and only one year to get thrown out. I am really pissed to say the least, but what ya gonna do? I'm going to be 62 in March and I have two bad knees, one bad arm and 4 hurneated (spelling?)disks in my back right between the shoulders where they can't do anything. So, my chances of finding work are as close as you can get to nill. Well, I guess that uncle sugar can support me for awhile. Sorry for the ranting guys, it's just that I'm really in a low spot right now. I'll hope for the best, and keep my faith. Later Dan
  10. I have also used Testors clear window glue over the chrome lights and have had good results. Dan
  11. Well, I have one of the airbrushes from Harbor Freight and it works just fine. It's just as good as the VL from Paasche that I have. They both are 2 stage brushes and to me the Harbor Freight one is well worth the price you pay for it. Also, there is nothing wrong with the VL brush either, and it costs a lot more.
  12. This is probably my favorite pic. It's of Nellybelle Jeep from the Roy Rogers show from the 50's. Dan
  13. I have quite a few of the builds that I did when I was a kid many moons ago. They all need to be rebuilt. I don't have any good pics of them but in my photobucket album under models to rebuild I do have some pics of them all together if you would like to take a look. Dan
  14. If I may add my feelings to this thread, I'd like to say that I hope this issue is better than the original. I have two of the originals, one built and the other is still in the box. The fit of the hood on the original is not very good (or maybe it's just my building ). I did not like the chassis at all. I did however cut out the rear axle and install one from another kit. I used the 454 from the 1970 Impala kit and added a small scoop on the hood. The huge decal on the side I cut down and removed the red line around the hole decal and used it. This body stile of the 78-80 Monti is not my favorite at all but I think that it turned out pretty good. I did like the way it looked after I made the mods to it. Here a couple of pics of how it turned out.
  15. I'm using the droped axle from the 40 Ford car kit and had to make the support for it. I drilled lightining holes in the axle. I also adjusted the wheel base I also had to make a firewall using one from the 40 Ford truck kit and scratch building part of it. Well, this is where I'm at at the moment. Hope ya like Dan
  16. Thanks guys. A lot of tender loving care in this one. unforginin, I'm not going to make a gasser out of her. Instead, she is powered by a 4 banger from a Jeep with two carbs. Lots of power or loss of power I guess. She will be a lowbuck hot rod from back in the day Dan
  17. These next pics show where I'm at now. They are also just mock up of the stance I'm looking to use. And two more. I was going to wait to show the engine that I'm using but what the heck. Hope ya like. Later. Dan
  18. Here are some pics. After a coat of primer Showing where I had to re-scribe the body lines Filling in of the hole in the floor and the rear fender More to come. Dan
  19. Here is one that I got way back in the early 80's from a guy that I worked with. He was throwing it away along with some others I said that I would take them. The rest is history. Anyway this turned out to be a real mess. First, the trunk was missing and it set in the box for over 20 years. I got one from a box of parts that a guy brought into the hobby store. Next, when I removed the paint, which was brushed on real thick, it was scraped with a knife over the whole body. I guess that's why the paint was real thick. The front end (axle and stuff) is broken into many little pieces. But all this didn't discourage me from trying to restore it somewhat. I can't restore it to completely stock so I'm doing the next best thing I hope. Well enough gabbing and here are some pics from the beggining to where I'm at now. Hope ya enjoy. Where the red is that's the filler I used to fix the scrapes from the knife he used. The trunk is from a different kit. That's why it is red. All the parts More pics to come. Dan
  20. I also got a few e-mails that were in my spam folder. I looked up my signature here and my name is there. I'm kinda confused now. Oh well, all for the better I guess. Dan
  21. Nothing here Gregg. Just this great forum. Dan
  22. I built one of the Scout SS's. Dan
  23. I use a combonation of testors paint, tamiya paint and grunge to try and create an old, well used engine. Here are some of pics of a 53 Ford Flathead I did. Dan
  24. Did you consider making a windshield for it out of clear plastic? kasteer Thanks for the nice comment, and yes sir, I sure did. A friend of mine who does vacuforming tried to vacuform one for me and it turned out with a lot of air bubbles in it. So, I can't use it. I tried to make one from clear acetate, but that didn't work either. A friend on another forum said that he might have one for me, so, I'll wait and see if he does have one. Dan
  25. Thanks for the comments guys. This is one that I like to do. I had to move the rear fenders back about 1/4 of an inch for the wheel base and also I had to extend the running boards to meet the fenders. The taillights are going to be 49 Merc. This will be my first Yellow build ever. I do have a problem though, the windshield is really messed up. It has a line through it from the factory, like a hot knife or something melted the glass. I have to find a new windshield for it somewhere. I will be posting more pics when I can. Dan
