  1. Great job on the 57. I like it. I just love the old race cars from back in those days. Dan P.S. I sent you an e-mail on this subject Mark. Hope ya can help.
  2. Piece of cake for ya Bruce. I know ya can fix-er-up like brand new or even better. Lookin forward to seeing this one finished. Dan
  3. I see the scratches on the body, is there a special way to do these or just put em in with whatever took you choose be it xacto or large grit sandpaper and then do a rust wash? On this same note, what I have used is a razor saw. Just lay it on it's side at a slight angle and scratch the side or top of the body. That's the way I did my "Mule" Chevy pickup truck. I can post a pic if Virg doesn't mind. Dan
  4. Thanks guys. Does anyone know what class this would run in? Chevy 348 ci/350 hp, 4 speed with slicks. I have no clue of what class it would run in. This is early 60's period. Dan
  5. Well, she's done, I think. I don't know if I want to instal decals or not for the strip that is. What do you guys think? Anyway, here are some pics of what she looks like now: Natural light With flash The 348 The headers are from a 66 Nova pro stock that I modified just a bit I think. Ther are more pics in my photobucket if you would like to see them and thanks fer lookin. Dan
  6. If you and a friend are to meet in an airport and one of you is running late. DON'T EVER yell HI JACK. Dan
  7. I remember the 60's and I was there. I also remember the 50's cause I was there too. Now, I don't remember the late 60's (67-69) cause I wasn't there. I was on Okinawa. I also have trouble with the early 70's cause I was there but I was still lost from being in the Army. I finally woke up in the late 70's. And now, all is well, or as well as can be I guess. Dan
  8. MAN, I WISH THAT I HAD SOMETHIN TO ADD TO THIS THREAD. Dan MAN, I WISH THAT I HAD SOMETHIN TO ADD TO THIS THREAD. Dan NOW HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. TWO POSTS AT THE SAME TIME AND I HAVE NO CLUE HOW. Oh, sorry for all the caps guys.
  9. Thanks Romell, and I like the work that you're doing on the Chevelle. Dan
  10. Thanks TJ, and thank you for your service. I spent three years on Okinawa back in 67-70. Take care and hurry home. Dan
  11. I've got a little more accomplished and here are some pics fer ya. The dash. I used Alclad for the frame and painted the dials flat white and then used Future over that. The interior is finished except for a tach. I used the headers from the 66 Nova pro stock I think. They were in the parts box and I needed them and here they are. These are the mufflers that I'm gonna use after I finish painting them. I had to polish the roof because there was a little dust on it and then I just decided to do the rest of the car. Almost finished so stay tuned. Dan
  12. Thanks for the kind words Niko. Dan
  13. Well, here are a few of my Jeeps. First up is Nellybelle A CJ-5 with a blown 350 Chevy in it. Replica of one I drove on Okinawa My Jeepster work horse I also have one CJ-7 but I can't find any pictures of it at the moment. Dan
  14. Nice Goat Charlie. I like the color. You did a great job on this build. I hope you post more pics of your builds. Dan
  15. Thanks Bruce. I'm enjoying this build. Dan
  16. Thanks for the kind comments guys. This one was kind of a pain in the you know what to redo, but I'm liking how she has turned out so far. The only problem I'm having is finding the windshield and rear window to install. They are missing from this kit. Oh, and it will have a Hemi in her. I need to do something about the plastic axel in the front end. It goes all the way through the engine. I have already plugged up the hole in the block and I will probably cut the axel and glue the front wheels to the frame. I also had to make the torsion bars cause they were missing also. The interior will be white. I am enjoying rebuilding this car and I have another to rebuild. More on that one later. Thanks again for the kind comments and thanks fer lookin. Dan
  17. This is another glue bomb that I'm attempting to restore. I had to rescribe the lines for the side chrome because they were sanded off. Then I used the BMF. That was some chore. Well, she is now Emerald Green and this is how she will be settin on the ground. The front bumper and grill has been redone with Alclad. I hope ya like her and thanks fer lookin. Dan
  18. Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything on this but here are some updated pics of how she looks now. This is the interior tub that I had to make. Here she is in black primer. And now here are the pics of the two tone Lime Gold and Black colors she is now. Also, this is the stance that she will be in. I hope ya like her and thanks fer lookin. Dan
  19. Thanks for the kind words guys. They were all fun to build or rebuild. Dan
  20. Thanks guys, and they all were fun to build. The Mule was really the first one that I tried to rust with pastels and using the dremmel to cut the holes from behind. The color of the truck is just the plastic with a dull coat over the cab and nothing over the bed. Of course the decals from the kit were used also. Dan
  21. That's all I can say or do right now about this. Dan
  22. Steve, I'll update when I paint my Studebaker the two tone that I'm gonna use. I sure hope it works good. Thanks for the heads up. Dan
  23. I just bought some Frogtape (Shurtape)from Sherwin Williams paint store. It's supposed to be the same as Tamiya's tape, but you get a lot more for your money. It is a low tack tape so it shouldn't remove any paint when removed. I haven't used it yet but I will pretty soon. The guys in our club put me on to this tape and they say it's perfect. This tape comes in a plastic container and is the Yellow color. Hope this helps someone out and to save some money. Dan
  24. I have a Datsun pickup that I just slapped together with pieces from three different trucks. It is not painted and I have started to take it apart and build it properly. Will this one be OK to use? Here is a pic of it. It is the Orange, Yellow and White one on the left. I've never partisapated in a CBP before and thought this would be my first. If it is not OK to use that's OK with me. Thank you. Dan
  25. I think it's a good kit as well. I built one out of the box years ago and I didn't even paint it. I also rebuilt one that was a glue bomb (glued together with a lot of glue and brush painted). Here are a couple of pics of it. Yours should turn out very good. Dan
