I would not use any of the 300 series resin for such a project. I would suggest you get a trial size kit of their TASK 8. This is what I use. If you use the 320 it will not take the Danville summer heat. TASK 8 will laugh at the heat and be happy basking in the sun, you will aid in it's full curing process. It is supposed to withstand temperatures to 260 degrees. Once cured it will become chemical proof. It should not melt in boiling water, something a normal model kit part won't do. Does the Bluebird Cafe and the 300 room still exist?. I met a guy at a doctors office here that used to sell newspapers on the street corners with Dick Van Dyke back in the day. I will send you a PM

You might try a Sally Beauty supply store. They have been in business for many years and they are everywhere. When I recently went back to Lafayette Indiana I was surprised to find one by the Kmart on 38 across from the mall. They have stores all over the valley here. There are some really cool nail polishes available these days. I did a search on Evilbay. There are several auctions. Many "BUY IT NOW" with free shipping from HONG KONG. -
Welcome to the forum, Ernest. We all want to see pics!

Casting multiple copies?

I buy SMOOTH-ON TASK 8 resin. I buy a two gallon kit for under a hundred bucks. Two gallons of resin will make a butt load of parts! I purchase it from Reynolds Advanced Materials located in Tempe, AZ off of Mill Avenue. They used to be a Polytek distributor. I was happy to learn that Niki, Aaron and another guy were not let go. -

Hey, you are going to create those in different scales aren't you? You did not post the scale. They are cool enough for most scale size. -

A half gallon kit weighs 7 pounds according to Aeromarine products. They have a website. They also sell on Ebay. I use the silicone they sell that has a purple activator, it smells like grape soda. It is a 10:1 mix. I buy a 5 gallon kit that weighs 44 pounds. With the shipping charge to me, the cost is around $10.00 a pound. They are located in San Diego, California. You can get a 1 to 1 mix silicone from them for $67.00 plus about $13.00 for postage for a half gallon kit. You might search on your computer for a local distributor. -

NOTICE: The body mold has suffered some damage in the area that forms the grille work under the bumper. When I get the master from Mike a new mold will be created and the project can resume. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am all for just freestyle. The only limit of course is to stick with Kodiaks dream picture. We can do this for him and have some fun too. I only wish I could draw but it might be considered a conflict of interest. I say the entries can begin now and the cut off for entries to be 12-31-2013 at midnight. I just don't want the time zone thing to become some kind of weird issue either. Since I have no idea what Harry is doing this time of year I can only leave it up to him to turn on the voting poll when he is ready and feels up to it on NEW YEARS DAY or if he might be hung over it might take him a day or two to recuperate from the festivities. I'm also pretty certain that Harry will have all voting info at his fingertips as well. Grab Your crayons or whatever and begin.
-
Hi Harry, I understand about the poll beginning. I just would not know how and it is probably only an admin can set one up. I really appreciate you allowing this idea to just happen out of the blue. Thank you Harry.

This looks like fun and gives me an idea! Since it's Christmas. All you talented artists can post your drawing here. Hopefully somebody way smarter than me can open a poll to vote. whomever gets the most votes gets some resin thing of your choice from me. Postage included! Sound like fun? I LIKE IT! HO! HO! HO! Perhaps January 1 2014 can be the cutoff and voting can take place.
