My Car in Hot Rod Magazine

Very nice. I am a Buick fan. -
If you open the auction link and look at the category it was listed in it would seem that it was only listed in the toys/hobbies/model car kits. I'm certainly no genius by any stretch of the word but it does look like a real car to me based on what is around it with outside lighting and shadows. Perhaps a wife caught the hubby cheating or he was already kicked out and could not get the car moved. I'm sure it is an interesting story but the deal of a lifetime for someone. As hindsight is always 20/20, I wish I would have bid a grand for fun. It would have been worth a roadtrip.

You WOW us as usual with your great talent. My Neighbor drove a TR4A. He was 6' 6" tall. even with the top up he still had plenty of head room. He also rode a motorcycle. He would get up early and coast his bike down the hill he lived on. Once at the bottom he would pop the clutch starting the bike and stay away from the farm all day so he would not have to set on a tractor all day and watch dirt clods go by. He joined the Navy and spent several years on a sub.

$669.00!! What a deal. I hope someone on here won the bid.

This version will be done by Mike Schnur. I recently completed the fifth mold that will produce a body that is worthy of someones money. I am going to meet with Mike next week for his approval of what he is holding in his hands. From one of these copies a hatchback version will be hatched. This project has been a real butt kicker for me. The time and material that I have in it will not likely be fully recovered but I have learned more about mold making and casting parts.

Cheap indeed. Seller has the wire hornest, just needs installed. If this were a 70's Buick GS, I would be all in!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/55-Belair-cheverlot-/141321652220?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item20e76d47fc Just found this on Ebay looking at model car kits. If you live near Baton Rouge, you might want to bid.

Very cool. Your photo looks more like a Norman Rockwell painting than a picture from a camera

You might try a spray product found in fabric stores. It is a temporary glue called Sulky KK 2000. Might be useful to hold a project together to test fit parts too.

I like it a lot, nice job. -
You should all go to you tube and look up a band called "The Electric Amish" Really funny stuff. They do some cover songs with Amish words. They are from Indiana.

I bought a older Revell flatbox kit of a Porche 914-6 kit thinking I might cast the engine but interest in it is uncertain

I can make one for a 69 but the cloth pattern will be different.

I am really happy it all went well for this parts search. -

Looks good, Ken. I have been wondering how you were doing with these two projects. I have not heard from you in awhile. -
Ohio George 1969 Mr. Gasket Mustang Resin Body
Greg Wann replied to JPolli's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have this clear body and some other body parts that go with it. I don't have the whole kit though. I have thought about casting it but don't know when I would get to it. There are not enough hours in the day with a real job to go to for doing casting work. If only I could retire and do this. -
Very nice. I would like a convertible version of this.

What brand is it?

Clear resin can be a real pain in curing. 48 hours is too long. you might adjust your mix by a couple of drops. one part will have a tendency to crystallize. Probably part "A", add more of this if it mixes 1:1 by volume. Go to the plumbing section of Ace Hardware or maybe a Home Depot and purchase a small container of silicone grease. Apply some to the bottle cap threads. This will help insure that the tops are easy to unscrew. It is inert to resin and will not cause it to malfunction for curing. If you mix some clear resin and it does not fully cure you can use a cheap plastic bag. press the bag against the uncured resin and it should pull out of the mold without damaging it. You don't want to scratch or fingerprint the inside of your mold. I made some gold parts using HOK transparent gold paint for a Pontiac TA project. I sent the parts to Ken Boyer to finish. My building skills were not up to the projects end result I imagined.

Those are very nice. I have made clear wheels before. If you do a search online they actually exist in real life for 1:1 vehicles. Paint the back edge of the diameter with red paint or any color and the color will come through the front. You can also add a little transparent paint and you can make them cool colors. Go to a automotive paint store and buy a small amount of transparent black and transparent white paint. You can use the white paint to create those storage bottles under the hood for holding windshield wiper fluid and radiator coolant. Once the bottles are made you can add a little clear back in the open side and then fill it up with a color that replicates coolant or wiper fluid. Once turned back upright it appears to be mostly full of coolant or windshield wiper fluid. You can use the black to make smoke colored items. What clear is that you are using? I have tried several. So far I have had the best success with a Polytek product. http://smcbofphx.proboards.com/thread/1212/1970-gsx-buick?page=1 The above link will take you to a flipnose Buick GSX that John Teresi built. These are some of the parts that I made. I made the storage bottles and he made them look filled.
