Custom 1966 Volvo P1800s "Bringing this back to the bench!"
Greg Wann replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ken, You are hitting another one out of the ballpark. I'm liking this one also. -
It is sad too as he does have some nice subjects. His stuff looks like he never fully mixes his resin before pouring it in the mold That is not the only problem.

Ferrari 340 Competizione FINAL PICS UP.....Getting casted!
Greg Wann replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
http://www.pulsarprofx.com/decalpro/ If you have a laser printer you might try this. This kit can make water slide decals and temporary tattoos. They also sell a kit that is for electronic boards but the guy says it could make photo etch parts too. You would just need to be able to get the artwork correct. I have one of those Decal Pro kits. Now that I have a color laser printer I can start playing with it myself. -

Looking really good. Now you will need to make some photo etch for it. -
I ordered a Eleanor kit on a Monday or Tuesday and I had it in my hands by Friday. I was amazed. It is a nice kit. This was a few years ago.

Modelzona? I had not planned on attending. I could mail one or two to you.

I was in there the other day. They do have some new stuff on the shelf. I did not buy anything. I looked at the new 62 Corvette. That kit has nearly 140 parts. I like parts. -
I have a 47 that I would like to do in resin. Those little covers over the headligfhts are pretty cool looking on that 55

Thanks, Charlie, yes, they turned out really well. I am even impressed. i will do the glass too. I will make a resin buck that Mike will use to create vacuum form windows like he did with the Fox Mustang. I will do the interior parts, hoods, boot and mold of the convertible body. I don't think Modelhaus does these parts.

Hi Greg, If you want something like this you could go to Ace Hardware or a Home Depot, Lowe's or a good plumbing supply house. Look in the plumbing section for a round bracket with four screw holes and has a female pipe thread in the center. These usually have a galvanized finish on them. There are a variety of male pipe thread adapters or bushings that you can use to adapt to the diameter that you might need. It might be less than twelve bucks but plumbing fittings are getting really expensive. Greg

Wow! Mike, That is a great looking car. This reminds me that I have a set of molds that will make a 1:32 scale Aurora car trailer.

Southern Motorsports Hobbies, Shipping Charge?
Greg Wann replied to Alan's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Box size and choosing first class over priority make a difference. I have mailed items to Canada that was cheaper than mailing across the USA. I mail out a single kit for less than $3.00 going first class. I recently mailed out three bodies in a larger box and it cost me close to ten bucks first class. -

I like it a lot, well thought out project. -
HMMMM..... about getting the decals off you might try some plastic polish like you would use on headlights OR sharpen a coffee stirrer. I get them from Starbucks. Just sand the end down like your chisel blade. It could be sharp enough to scrape through the decal yet not damage the bodies surface. Also if it slips it may or may not cut you. I can get them sharp enough to cut through silicone on my molds. I'm working on the chassis mold.

My first car was a 72 Buick GS. My first brand spanking new car was a 78 VW Rabbit. Not just any Rabbit. It was a special edition 'BIG FOOT " Rabbit. It had wide after market wheels and tires. Fender flares and a front air spoiler. It was a silver color and had a two tone red stripe running down the length of the car. I bet if you could find one of those in good condition these days it might be worth a bit. I had trouble with shift cables breaking. Driving the car in town without a clutch was interesting driving. It was my first manual transmission car. I drove it until 1987 when I bought a Mazda 626.

That thing is pretty cool. I think somewhere around my house is a small version that is attached to a keyring. One of these was parked at a hotel within walking distance of my work. They let me inside to check it out. I did take some interior pics but not sure if I still have them. -
I like it. Great job, Shane.
