  1. Richard Lasseter is a big cheese in the GS club of America. They have a week long event in Bowling Green KY. VERY COOL event but I have never been able to attend. The event is October 15-18 2014 at the Beech Bend Raceway, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
  2. Very Nice. I do like Pace Cars.
  3. It is good to know you are well. I ran across your Corvette site with some amazing builds. There have been a lot of Corette kits released since you last built. Maybe a snap kit will get you back at the bench. LOL
  4. Mike Mathers, if you are on this board please PM me. your 3 kits are ready.
  5. I was a member of the GS Club of America for a few years. They sent out periodical magazines. I'm pretty certain they had an article that said the Buick 455 block was the lightest in weight do to it's higher content of nickel in the metal of the BOP engines.. I do believe they had oil galley problems in the top end of the engine.
  6. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47493&hl=%2Bbuick+%2Bgsx+%2Bflipnose Here is a flipnose version I created in resin that John Teresi built. He is a very talented builder. Yes, those MCG PE parts are nice. they will allow you to paint the red in the GS 455 scripts. Finding out the silicone I had been using shrinks will put this entire project into a restart mode. I find it interesting that my posts in this build thread have been removed.
  7. http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=382&idcategory=0 http://buickgsca.com/ Be sure to pick up[ a Model Car Garage photo etch set. This will really make your GS build POP!!! There are not any scripts molded on the body to remove. There is a STAGE 1 emblem in the set. Also be certain to round off the front fenders for accuracy of your build. This same kit has been released with several box art photos but they never fix the front fenders.
  8. I love a fast Buick. Sure wish I had mine back.
  9. I picked up some vacuum form glass pieces from Mike and helped him with some kitchen plumbing issues. I have made five body molds with varying problems, finally this project is on track! The upside is I did not rip anybody off and make undone promises. That money trap is not for me.
  10. I have attempted to post more pics without success, it says the file is too big. I have four wheel covers, front and rear bumpers and front and rear seat
  11. Hi All, Since you have this 50's subject matter, I am curious if there would be any interest in this 58 New Yorker 2 door. This was loaned to me to cast by a guy here in Mesa. Now he wants to cancel the project due to low interest in his group. I do have a front seat, back seat, front and rear bumper and four wheel covers to go with it. Do you all think it would be worth doing? I will need to get his permission to continue though. I made some attempts post post photos of the seats, bumpers and wheels without success. It keeps saying the file is too large. OH WELL! Thanks, Greg
  12. Very nice. I sure would like a Buick Skylark Sport wagon in 1/25 scale, preferably 70's
  13. I picked up a couple of these kits while I was in Indiana. I bought them from RC HOBBIES Plus near Creasy Lane in Lafayette. It is quite a big store. Mostly RC stuff with a good selection of kits too This looks like a pretty nice kit.
  14. http://www.rocketfin.com/model_car_links.html Here is a sight that offers a resin search. I would like to be able to offer a 70's Buick Skylark Sportwagon in 1/25 scale.
  15. "Someday John wants to become a professional model car builder" LOL This looks pretty good to me. Congrats on the centerfold in the other publication.
  16. Andy of Andy's Hobby Headquarters at 59th and Greenway says his business is doing very well. With the economy the way it is, people are staying home and building models and not traveling much or doing other things. When I go to his store he is usually building some kind of military model.
  17. That is coming along nicely. Good job, Bradd. Gregg
  18. Very nice. I would like to have a 70's Buick Skylark Sport wagon in scale.
  19. I saw a yellow Kammback Vega wagon on the road the other day that looked brand new. I can remember my brother wanting to buy one when they came out.
  20. Just looking at the photo. I'm not too thrilled how the wheels are held on. Looks like a pin to hold stuff together on the farm. There are 3D printers now that spray metal.
  21. I found three sets and one clear one that I made a few years ago playing with clear resin and transparent paint colors. I think I have a small padded envelope. Postage can't be that much. Pm your address and I will send them to you. I looked through my stash of kits and found my mint 76 Firebird MPC kit number 1-7615 and found them in the kit. It does suck that there are only spats for the back fenders. I think it's weird that there are none in the kit for the front. Greg
  22. I would have thought the Starsky and Hutch car would have sold well back in the day. Should have been as big a hit as that orange thing those Dukes boys were driving around.
  23. How many sets would you like? This is probably one of two models I actually finished since getting back into the hobby in 05. These were in an original 76 Firebird kit I think. I found them in my old parts box from when I was a kid. I cast them for this and another yet unfinished TA Roadster project I sent to Ken Boyer to add to the Boyer Files. I could do them in clear if you want or just cast in the off white resin I use. I do have some transparent white and black automotive paint too. I entered this car, my only entry ever in a club meeting for customs. I actually won the award. I think they felt sorry for me! Raoul Coulombe did ask about the spoiler being put on backwards. I was too dumb to know. It was the best way to get it to fit! It was a pain in the butt to place and glue on. This is some color of blue nail polish air brushed on and rub down tire decals. Once the nail polish cured, I wet sanded it and just polished it out with the Bare Metal Foil plastic polish. It was the best plastic polish I have ever used and of course, they no longer make it. I'm actually really happy with how the car turned out. Hopefully the mold won't be too hard to locate in my room. It's a darn shame GM never offered this in a convertible version but I have seen some photos of customs done. I used a 57 Chevy convertible boot. I have that mold around here somewhere. I see the back tire is not on right in the overhead shot. I think Kenny Rogers used to sing a song that went "You picked a fine time to leave, me loose wheel"
