http://www.bare-metal.com/ You know you can order directly from BMF don't you? They still have that plastic polish temporarily out of stock! It's only been like ten years and they still have it in their lists of items for sale. If you buy from them it might be fresher too. Call them up and place an order. That is what I did several years ago. Greg

Left hand going North. You could order directly from BMF. I don't know if the old man is still alive. When I got back into models I bought some of their plastic polish. I ran out and now they don't make it anymore. I have wasted a lot of money on plastic polish. The only thing I have found close is a brand called Koala. I talked to the old man personally about the BMF polish. Seems he had it formulated for airplane clear canopies but the factory would not make it anymore for some reason. It was great for polishing paint too. I work on the ASU Tempe campus. I could go there after work and I live near 51st and Peoria, Ave. I am now stuck working 4 ten hour days, I absolutely hate days!! I worked nights for over 13 years.

There is a little hole in the wall bookstore on Rural road. It is on the left hand side in a strip mall. Can't recall the name of it. The guy handles mostly military stuff but has a few car kits. I only found out about it because I won a kit from him through fleebay and stopped by to pick it up. The shop is a little ways North of the 202. Might be around the Goodwill area.

http://smcbofphx.proboards.com/thread/1987/marshall-guitar-amplifier-badge OH....OK I thought it might be like the glow in the dark dye I used to make this really cool Marshall guitar amplifier badge. I thought it would sell well on Fleebay but nobody bit. I gave this one away but I could make another one. Greg

A 70 to 72 convertible Buick GS and a nice 56 International pick up truck. That is the first truck I remember on the farm. I would also like a big log home with one of these for heating and baking food in it. http://www.mha-net.org/ Or one of these. Soapstone is really beautiful stuff http://www.tulikivi.com/

Plastic chrome plating

I de air silicone with a 2 stage Robin Air vacuum pump, a typical AC mechanic piece of equipment. It has no problem achieving 30 Heg of vacuum. I'm on a information gathering mode. I should perhaps look for a forum online that might be more suited to this subject. And perhaps I might just have to wait until I get rich and just by the suitable equipment. -
Plastic chrome plating

Thank you for your kind help, I will see if I can understand it. I do work at a university. I will see if I can find someone there that knows. -
or vacuum metalizing is the proper term for adhering chrome to plastic parts. Is there anyone on this board that has an idea of how I might create a system in my home. I do have a vacuum chamber. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Greg

AWESOME JOB!!. I really like it a lot. Thanks for the photos, they are inspirational.

If I had the financial resources up front I would put my hat in the ring. I live here in the Phoenix Arizona area. There are a few businesses that do chrome plating but none that I know of do vacuum metalizing. This is the process that plastic parts go through to get chrome plating adhered to them. This is another business that is of interest to me. I think plastic chrome plating in this area of the country would be a good business too. Unfortunately I am ADD so my head is in all kinds of stuff. I have a few plumbing tool inventions I would like to market as well. Does anyone know how to do the vacuum metalizing? My first attempt to make a vacuum chamber was to get some half in thick clear acrylic and make a box with a lid that just sets on top. I really thought I could use a vacuum cleaner to pull a vacuum needed to de air silicone. That experiment failed quickly. I still have the box. Now I am wondering that after a few years of experience I might actually be able to reinforce the box to get it to hold a vacuum and actually vacuum metalize in it if I could learn the process.

That is really cool. I am wondering about the bluish color. I presume it is clay you used to hold it together to photograph it?

HUH? A Weber kit? Is this a resin kit of a carb for a engine? What scale? If this is a kit of a carb that is a great idea.

I heard it through the grape vine that a group of investors are looking at purchasing the business. A local guy that I cast for thinks I should put my hat in the ring. He thinks my casting is that good. But.....my pockets are not that deep. If I really had lots and lots of money....well maybe I would give it a try. I'm most certain that moving a business like that here to Arizona would be a huge undertaking too.

By the looks of shawns icon, he might have been built upside down. Perhaps his nose runs and his feet smell. LOL That is a very good drawing but it hurts my neck as well!

I think a lot of the brick were "VEEDERSBURG PAVERS" from Veedersburg, Indiana. A town somewhat close to Danville, IL. -
John here is a pretty talented artist himself, that Icon he has is of something he penciled.
