While many think the hood in the kit is incorrect, it is actually about right. Southern Motor Sports Hobbies used to sell the decals for that car, might still make them. They were laser printed by them. The striping is weak on the sheet but the rest of the markings are there. You can get a Keith Marks 69 Torino GT sheet and reshape his stripes to replicate the 68 striping. I would have used a Polar Lights Talladega for the body and reshaped the nose or added the standard Torino nose from the AMT body to the PL body,

Yes, what Edsel Dan said. The lower model Galaxie in 1963 was called a Galaxie 300 and had the Ford script and also no side chrome trim. I did see some police cars doing a search for 63 Ford police cars, that had no script and some that had Galaxie 500 trim. So, you can perhaps just remove chrome and scripting and be close.

Around 30 years ago there was a company called Performance Detail Products, they made various photo etched parts, nice stuff and ahead of their time. They made a nice detail set for the 63 Galaxie, included scripts, an accurate grille and various other detailing parts. Doubt you'd be able to find one today and I am not sure it had the scripts you are looking for. That is the only 63 Galaxie photo etch set I am aware of,

Once owned a 67 Cougar GT. The main difference between the 67 and 68 is a few trim items, some options and the 68 had the side lights, front and rear. The 69 body wise is a completely different car, with a similar shape. As far as I know, there is not one panel from a 69 that would match a 67 or 68.

Yep, the radiator is in front on a six cylinder 55-57 Chevy. The engine in your 57 is an earlier version and not correct for a 57. Similar but not the same. The only kit I know of with a correct period six engine is the AMT 60 Chevy Fleetside kit, which is hard to find these days and not cheap when you do find one. The original issue had the 2 V8 options and no 6 cylinder. The carb v8 had an automatic IIRC and the FI engine was a standard. The only 6 cylinder I am aware of that is correct for a 57 Chevy is the one in the AMT 60 Chevy pickup. All others out there are either earlier or later model 6's. There is a resin vendor that sells the correct air cleaner for the 6 cylinder engine for 57 Chevy's. Can't recall who that is off the top of my head but the parts are nice and reasonable priced. Of note to someone planting a 6 into any tri-5 Chevy, the radiator is in front of the radiator wall on a 6 cylinder car and the rear of the radiator wall for a v8. Most folks miss that aspect. No offense to Greg, his work is excellent and I appreciate what he does for us mere mortal modelers, I just have to ask a question to the general population. The question is, what is the fascination with a car from a lame movie with poor acting? The car is not a Shelby that they ruined, it is a standard 67-68 Mustang that they ruined. Why all the adulation? People's fascination with silly car movies in general amazes me. The Fast and the Furious franchise is an example of what I consider an anti-car movie. They perform stunts that are often physically impossible, maybe aided by CGI and they ruin multiple real cars for each movie. Anyone have a count of how many 1:1 original Dodge Chargers were trashed and totaled for Dukes of Hazzard?? I just can't understand why we accept all that.

Always like that 250 LM and the 275 LM. Yours turns out great. Wheels look good, paint and overall detail is really nicely done. Have you considered vacuum forming some light covers? That may be the best way to get some clear looking lenses.

The best FE headers that are more correct for a Galaxie chassis are the headers from the Revell 68 Mustang drag/stock kit.

There no longer seems to be simple rules and rates for shipping things. Recently I bought 4 pairs of skis (over 6 feet long) on ebay that were new surplus. Cost to ship was more than the price of the skis. On a positive note, I needed some ski poles and ordered some sale items from Sierra Trading Post, good price and the shipping for 2 sets of poles and one set of ski bindings (heavy) was $7.95. They came in 3 separate boxes, and that had to cost way more than the price I paid. So, sometimes it works in your favor. An envelope with one sheet of decals should not ever cost $5.95, I would take that envelope to the PO and complain. Worse they can do is tell you to go away.

I would think you would get more responses if this was asked in the truck and light commercial resin section of the forum. While I seldom read that section myself, I would assume that many truck builders may not read this car resin section regularly. Just a thought.

I'll take an AWB Ply-mouth and an AFX Comet. I would even go for a 56 Desoto. I most want a 49 or 50 Packard convertible though
