Don't worry... the paper magazine isn't going away. Hopefully "seeing is believing," as they say, and people will like what they see and decide to get their hands on the "real" paper mag, either by buying it at the LHS or Barnes & Noble.. or by subscribing. We have a great magazine, and we want to give everyone a chance to see for themselves.

Here's your chance to see a complete issue of the magazine... every single page... for free! Open a new browser window and go to www.modelcarsmag.com, and click on the text link near the upper left that says "Sample Copy." Depending on how fast (or slow) your internet connection is, you may have to wait a few seconds for it to load, but when it does, you can flip through all the pages of an entire issue of MCM... free! Once you see what MCM is all about, maybe you'll consider picking up a copy at your LHS or Barnes & Noble... or maybe even subscribing!

That's exactly right. I get rid of any obvious clues (or answers) in the photo... emblems, scripts, etc., but I don't mess with the photo otherwise (except maybe crop it a bit). In this case it's pretty obvious why I cropped the photo... Leaving it uncropped would have made this just a little too easy for you guys...

There's one craftsman/artist who comes to mind that is probably as close to the ultimate as any human is going to get: Gerald Wingrove. I've seen some who are as good, none that are better.

Like what? For starters, neither Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Toyota ( or anyone, for that matter) makes a carbureted engine.

If he can email photos to Cranky, he can post photos himself.

Ok, this may belong in the "stupid questions" folder... but why does Donn not post his own photos? Why does someone else have to post for him?

I thought all the engines (and all the cars) were the same.

Why do they even continue with this stupid charade? Obviously the cars have nothing to do with Chevy, Ford, etc. Why not just drop the silly games and refer to the cars as the "Joe Smith Hooters car" and the "Bill Jones Arbys car" and the "Tom Adams Nabisco car" and whatever? Why even pretend that the manufacturers have any connection to the cars? Isn't it all a little silly by this point?

At the risk of "insulting" NASCAR guys... wouldn't all the manufacturers have to do is tool up just ONE kit, and a bunch of different decal sheets? I mean, all the cars are the same except for the graphics.
