  1. There are 25.4 mm per inch, so 1 mm would equal 1/25 of an inch. Or 1 mm = 1 inch in 1/25 scale. So to put it simply, yes, 1 mm = a 1/25 scale inch. Why do your chairs look small? Maybe you measured wrong somewhere. But the 1mm = 1 inch in 1/25 scale is correct.
  2. If you find an old topic that you want to add to, that's perfectly fine. Topics don't have an expiration date.
  3. 1501 Commerce Dr. Elgin, IL 60123-2146 USA
  4. If your workplace blocks Photobucket, so what? Post photos when you're at home. Hey, you're not supposed to be on Photobucket while you're at work anyhow!
  5. I don't build NASCAR either, but from what I know the typical NASCAR racer is not show-car shiny. Wouldn't a clear coat be a bit much on a NASCAR model as far as gloss goes? I mean, if you're after the most authentic look possible.
  6. Ok, so there's no problem then. But the fact is, you do have access to a photo hosting site (as everyone does). That was Rob's point. He was saying that people ought to open up a photo hosting account, park their photos there, and post from the photo hosting site instead of posting thumbnails here. And also (while I'm not an internet expert)... wouldn't parking your photos on an outside photo hosting site and posting them that way here save us some bandwidth space on this site? When you post a photo from Photobucket or Fotki... you're not actually putting the photo on this server, only a text link to the photo, which is physically sitting (and taking up space) on the photo hosting site's server. At least that's how I understand it. Maybe Dave Ambrose can verify.
  7. I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that if you create a model of a particular subject for your own amusement (that is, not to sell for a profit)... you don't owe anyone anything. Again, I'm not a lawyer, but I would be shocked if there was any way you could possibly be liable for any sort of licensing fees for your paper models. That would be absurd.
  8. I'm not sure how your filter works, but is there an option that would let you "approve" a particular site so the filter won't block it? That way you could "approve" Photobucket but your filter would still be working for any other sites.
  9. That's a real beauty for sure... but your driver's side vent window is falling out!
  10. Not to start an argument, but yes, you can access Photobucket and Fotki. Why in the world not? It's just another website. If you can access this site, you can access any site.
  11. Way to go, Jay. That was the right thing to do. Ok, then. We can officially close this case!
  12. The only reason I could see not to clear over the decals is if on the real car, the stickers are less shiny than the paint, and you were a very fussy NASCAR builder.
  13. I think there's a certain member that owes Shawn an apology.
  14. Shawn PM'd yesterday me with additional shots of the engine, chassis, and info on which decals he used. I told him I would open this thread back up if he would post all that stuff here, but for some reason he hasn't done it.
  15. In my opinion ebay is by far the best. You get the biggest number of potential buyers there.
  16. Shawn has some more information that he'll be posting here.
  17. I'm going to close this. If the builder PMs me with information as to which kit, which decals, etc. he used, I'll reopen it. I'm not passing judgement on the model... I just think it's a waste of time to speculate, so I'll close this for now and wait for Shawn to PM me.
  18. I'm going to close this. Jay, if you have proof to back up your claim, PM me.
  19. Right, but the issue here is that Jay thinks that the model in question is a built-up diecast that was basically taken out of the box and being passed off as a model kit that was built by the person who posted the photos. So far we don't have any proof of that. Still waiting for Jay to back up his claim with a link to that specific diecast.
  20. Right you are. My "informant" agrees with you. But the point is, there are plenty of those chassis available.
  21. Post a link to the diecast. I want to see proof.
  22. A diecast is a model, plain and simple. A diecast that you buy already built is not a kit, but it definitely is a model. A lot of people buy built-up diecasts, take them apart, customize them, detail the, etc. How is the result of that process not a legitimate model? I agree that posting photos of a built-up diecast and claiming that you built is is wrong. But there's no way I agree that diecasts are not models, because they obviously are.
