I wish it looked that good...

Can't argue with what you said, but let's be smart and let it go. Those locked posts are drifting downward on the page and will soon be gone. Let's move forward.

Hey, no fair going back and rewriting history!

And oh, just for the record... it wasn't just one person, it was several. Just want to be clear on that. No one single person caused the threads to be locked... I just didn't like the direction they were heading.

Whose fault is it that they're commercially viable? TV execs will only air the stuff that gets ratings. We have nobody to blame but ourselves. If nobody watched (insert your favorite media whipping boy here), they would be off the air in no time. We, as a society, are getting exactly what we're asking for. Ok... can't delve too deeply into politics here, so back to our regular topics.

We're trying!

BTW Skip... I kinda liked the dog...

Ed's right... without controversy, Beck's got nothing! Same with all media types. Their whole game is controversy. But here on our forum, we don't need controversy. Sometimes it rises up, but not too often. I'd say overall, when you realize how many members post here regularly, and how different we all are as far as politics, religion, nationality, location, culture, etc... I'd say we do ok about 99% of the time. And for that other 1%... my finger's on the kill switch!!!

Sure you can! Join a club. Or go to shows and swap meets. Or all of the above! Model building can be a very social hobby if that's what you want it to be.

Well, it's been a cold and very rainy April here in the Chicago area (what else is new, right?)... but when I see the weather they've been having in Alabama, Georgia, parts of Tennessee and Kentucky, etc... suddenly cold and rainy doesn't seem so bad after all. And now I see they're going to blow up a levee on the Mississippi to relieve the rising Mississippi and Ohio rivers and try to save the town of Cairo, IL from being submerged. Of course, busting the levee means some farmland downstream in Missouri will probably get flooded, so those people are not happy. Can't please everyone...

Post your own useless video
Harry P. replied to LDO's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree. If you don't like Cranky's videos, why not just stop clicking on the thread? And why not just stop watching them? Who is holding the gun to your head and forcing you to participate in a topic that you have no interest in??? I really don't see why a handful of you have to go out of your way to make such a big deal out of it. We all have different interest and are involved in different types of models. Some like NASCAR, some like rat rods, some build drag, some factory stock, and most of us build a combination of many types of cars (and boats, trucks, planes, etc., too). Why do a handful of you have this need to make it so clear to the rest of us what you don't like? You would think that it's easier for you to just move on to a topic that does interest you. -
Tic-Toc, Tic-Toc

Well, folks... after considering this for a while (and taking into account the posts from some members here who have a problem with this thread)... I've decided to lock it. On the one hand, I can see where this type of topic can be seen by some as a "commercial," and an instance of "selling," which isn't supposed to take place here. On the other hand, I can also see this as a positive contribution to the forum, and one that will interest many members... and not really "selling," but more of an FYI on an upcoming product that may interest people. A few members have made it very clear that they have an issue with this topic, while others have been supportive, even enthusiastic. So... it wasn't easy to decide what to do. Both sides of the argument have a valid point. But the whole petty argument over who likes Cranky's videos and who doesn't is pointless. I have my own personal opinion, of course, but I'm supposed to be neutral. That being the case, I've decided to lock this thread (but not remove it). The information is here for those who are interested, so no further comment is really necessary. I'll leave it visible for those who might be interested. And for those of you who were offended, bored, uninterested or whatever... I hope this ends the problem for you. -

I believe he probably told her to get off the bonnet... Tally ho... -
Very nice! I like the red trim details, nice touch!

The gold looks great, "skinny" is looking good... but without a cooling system he's not going to get very far in that car!

Thanks! I agree, it makes a huge difference. Those angular headlights make it look like a giant angry insect! -

Am I the only one who thinks the cars in Cars should have had the headlights be their eyes? I mean, with the eyes in the windshield I always see two faces! -

Maybe they should make replacing the "VW" logo with a peace symbol an option! -

Well said, Aaron. I spoke with Virgil a little while ago and he asked me to keep a close watch on this thread. He told me that the last thing he wants to see is this thread morphing into some sort of "I like Cranky" vs. "I don't like Cranky" back-and-forth exchange. He asked me to lock this thread if that's what happens, as that was definitely not his intention. I hate to lock threads, so I'll assume that won't be necessary. So let's have fun, and remember that it's up to you guys whether or not you want to be a "Crankyhead." Participation is completely up to you. -

The angular headlights and round driving lights are fighting each other. What it needs is more curves (and more cowbell! )
