  1. Ok, people... it's almost 7PM and I have to go downstairs and watch American Idol now... yes, I know it's totally cheesy... but it's a guilty pleasure of mine... so I hope I don't see a total train wreck of a thread when I get back in an hour. Can you boys behave?
  2. Which one are you?
  3. Johnny G... don't take things the wrong way. The guys that responded to your posts and suggested you buy a ready-made unit instead of going the DIY route were actually looking out for your best interests. Yeah, a couple of the comments could have been made a little more tactfully (Stasch... ), but they were just looking out for your safety.
  4. I agree with Darin. The drama here does pop up every so often… but that's a consequence of us running a pretty open forum here. We give you guys as much leeway as possible, but if you want to avoid the drama it's pretty easy to do. Like Darin said, the "Under Glass" and "On the Workbench" sections rarely, if ever, have the kind of posts that you seem to want to avoid. Of course the decision is yours, but I suggest you stick around and just avoid or ignore the posts that you don't like. There's a lot of good stuff posted here... maybe bailing is an over-reaction?
  5. It's just harmless forum chatter, that's all.
  6. Sometimes the solution is painfully obvious!
  7. Keys are in the same place as any other keyboard. You got a better excuse???
  8. Toyopet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Crown
  9. Now that is cool! I didn't know there was a Toyopet model out there. Who made the model?
  10. On what other forum can you go from Bare Metal Foil to Superfly in just a few posts? I love this place!
  11. Is this a cool car or what? http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Facel_Vega
  12. When I was a little kid our family lived on the top floor of a rickety old wooden 3-flat in Chicago. Every time we got a tornado warning, my parents would make us all run down to the basement... as a result I developed a real fear of bad weather. Still have it to this day. I've never been hit by a tornado, but every time the warnings come I worry... it was sort of drilled into me.
  13. Beautiful! Very impressive work. If you can do cars half as good as that you'll be fine!
  14. Hey, Big Kahuna... no black wash on the grille? No headlight lenses? No amber turn signals? Or is it still "on the bench?"
  15. Shut yo mouth! But I'm talkin" 'bout Shaft!
  16. Use straight pins as "bolts" by filing the heads to a hex shape, use slices of hex-shaped styrene rod as "nuts." It's either "real" miniature hardware ($$$$$$$) or the DIY way.
  17. Same with me. I get a lot more life out of my blades. Oh well... can't complain!
  18. To all of you who are lucky enough to still have your mom around... enjoy the day with her if possible. My mom died in 2006, so Mother's Day ain't what it used to be for me. My point is, life is short. If your mom is still around, make sure you take the time to see her, call her, send her a card... however you can make contact.
  19. I can tell you one thing for darn sure: you don't need those torsion bars anymore!
  20. I like the look with the new wheels. The black centers and polished rims work well with the body color, and the slightly smaller size from what you had originally is a lot better. Nice update!
  21. Like they said, they are slightly bigger than N scale, but they didn't say what scale they are exactly.
