  12. Thanks Buzz. Yes, this is the first time I've added trim to a model. It really wasn't hard to keep the thin plastic strip nice and straight. The hardest and most tedious part was opening the vent holes.

  18. John, that is a beautiful looking car. Great job.
  19. Harry, you're on a roll. I can't wait to see how you "class up" this kit. I'd say go with the rear mounted spares for a sportier look. and maybe a rich, maroon color for the car. Is there a way to put whitewalls on the tires, and are the wire wheels OK and up to your standards? I can also see some kind of mesh screening in those hood side vents....... However, it's your model.
  20. Today I finished up the engine assembly for this car. The block, heads and intake manifold are painted aluminum and the tranny is steel. The valve covers, air cleaner assembly and oil filler cap are painted body color which is HOK Tangelo Pearl. I added some BMF and PE bolt heads to the air cleaner top, and a piece of copper wire for a fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb fuel line. The engine decals are really tiny, fiddly little pieces and I somehow lost the one for the oil filler cap... I put some BMF over the Chrysler Fire Power lettering on the valve covers before I painted them, and then carefully rubbed off the paint with a polishing cloth. Tomorrow I'll start work on the chassis assembly. I've already painted the chassis frame semi-gloss black and the floor pan dark gray. The top side of the floor pan, or the interior floor, has been painted flat brown in preparation for brown flocking for the carpet. Thanks for looking in on this update. Further updates to come.

  22. Nice work James. I love the '40 Ford.
  23. Every day is an adventure. My wife and I are attempting to quit smoking and are using electronic cigarettes. We cheat now and then but we're not smoking anywhere near what we were. I got new dentures that finally fit right after 3 trips back to the dentist for adjustments. I had the cataract removed from my left eye and now I see great out of it. I've lost about 20 lbs. due to portion control and water pills to eliminate swelling in my left leg. In 2015 I'll have the cataract in my right eye taken care of, and will hopefully continue to lose more weight. As long as I keep opening my eyes each morning...... it's a good day.
