  1. Wow man... I haven't heard that in sooooo long. I so remember playing along with In A Gadda Da Vida on my Bass back then.
  2. That looks absolutely beautiful Tulio. You did an excellent job on the paint and the BMF work.
  3. Since I've been building as an adult, I buy kits of cars that appeal to me, or, for the assortment of parts in the kit that I know I can use on builds of other cars. I've never been "sucked in" by the box art. I really don't remember whether or not the box art influenced my buying decisions way back in the late 50's and into the 60's.
  4. This is coming along really great Steve. I love your work on the interior.
  5. Welcome to our plastic playground Dave, you'll love it here.
  6. Nice looking model Jon, I like the color.
  7. Thank you all very much gentlemen for your very kind and encouraging words.
  8. That looks really great Harry. As usual your detailing is outstanding.
  9. C'mon Bill, you can finish a model.
  10. Thank you guys. Del, I'm not actually trying to replicate the real car. I'll be using the paints that I have on hand, although your color choices sound great.
  11. Great looking models Tom. The Pink Merc and the Woody are my favorites.
  12. Thank you Don, I appreciate your encouraging comment. The pictures of the 1:1 car are awesome. Yes, I'm obviously not exactly replicating the real car. The rendering of Troy's car provided the inspiration for my model.
  13. Thanks guys, I appreciate your kind comments.
  14. Thanks Matthew. This is a great kit. The fit and finish of all of the parts are wonderful. Any mold lines are "barely there" and need only a minimal amount of fine sanding to clean them up. The work on the chassis is complete, except for mounting the wheels and tires. The bottom of the floor pan was sprayed with Dark Gray primer and the chassis rails and most of the chassis pieces were painted with Semi-Gloss Black. The exhaust pipes and fuel tank were painted Steel Metalizer and the mufflers were given a coat of Metalizer Aluminum. I flocked the carpet in a Dark Brown color and the seats were painted Dark Tan and Leather. I added a piece of thin plastic strip between the top of the seat back and the rear package tray and then covered that strip with BMF along with the molding for the rear speaker or vent. I also opened up the speaker or vent and backed it with a small piece of brass mesh that will also be used to back the opened up vents in the body's side trim. I also applied some Orange flocking to the package tray. I'm waiting for the weather to change here so I can paint the body, hood, dashboard, steering wheel and interior side panels. It's been cold and rainy here for the past day or so. This car is coming along nicely and I'm hoping that the paint work will come out just as nice. Still lots to do. Thanks for looking in on these updates. More to come so stay tuned.
  15. Detail Master has this PE set for seat belt hardware for $5.99 and Model Car Garage has a PE set also for $6.50 Either one looks like they have enough pieces for several models.
  16. This just keeps getting better and better Richard.
  17. That looks really sharp Bill.
  18. Great looking cars John.
  19. I wholeheartedly agree Steve. I stopped using enamel paints on model bodies about 15 years ago. I only use some enamel brush paints on chassis, engine and interior parts.
  20. I only subscribe to, and have piles of, Model Cars Mag and SA. I'll occasionally pick up issues of Ol' Skool Rods, etc., but not very often. As others have said, all the reference material you'll ever need or want is only a couple of clicks away on the net.
  21. One is better than none Andre
  22. I'm looking forward to the Moebius '54 Hudson, and then I hope to get some 1956 resin kits from Modelhaus at this year's NNL East show... '56 Cadillac, Dodge, Lincoln and Mercury which should just about complete my collection of cars for 1956. After that I'll have to see how finances go for the rest of the year. I think I've still got enough cars in the TO DO pile to get me through the year.
  23. Great looking cars Dan.
  24. Great work on those Resto's Raoul, you had a very productive year.
