  1. Donor kit is the AMT "Phantom".
  2. Finally... Only two more.
  3. Here's what I'm giving to the caster.
  4. Sunday only Toy Show for me. Maybe next time...
  5. I used to have two near me as well. The good one moved to the other side of town, and I'm left with the small, poorly stocked one. Example: The good one offered Evergreen and Plastruct. The small one has no intention of stocking Plastruct, and hasn't reordered the Evergreen since they opened, as far as I can tell.
  6. I noticed there are separate locker rooms, and not because of gender. In 1947, this is how it was. I found these plans fascinating, and have saved them for further examination. It's like a paper time capsule. How things have changed!
  7. It may be too late, but this often overlooked detail really helps the look of the C series. I don't know why it wasn't molded on in the first place...
  8. When I worked for peanuts for a small robotics company, I had the program on my computer, and taught myself (with the help of a sympathetic engineer) how to muddle through it. One of the few perks of working there. To this day I think that company only existed as a shelter for ventures in which the owner was actually interested.
  9. I have plans for "A" and "B" (I have access to remaining actual structures), but I haven't located a "C" design yet. For the last several years, I have been locating stations of the '70s, and with my eldest son, measuring them. These measurements are used to create an AutoCad drawing in 1/25 scale. So far I have done two Texacos, a Clark, a Shell, and a Phillips 66 station.
  10. If I remember correctly, I think I used a sleeper (like on the AMT Kenworth conventional) for the basic fairing parts.
  11. The H series, made from the AMT C Series. This one is not resin.
  12. This is the kind of info I'm looking for. Still a work in progress, but I will take note of everything you've said.
  13. Here's my progress so far on the master...
  14. Very nice! What kind of glue is used to bond the veneer to the plastic?
  15. I have won three (over the years) International CO-4070A's for $25.00 (buy it now, these were three different occasions) on eBay. I got a sealed 1/32 International Eagle cabover at the Toledo NNL for $30.00, lastly, when I worked at a department store (going out of business), they gave me 125 pounds of .020 styrene sheets (the dividers in the record racks, yes, THAT long ago) for $10.00. I still have about 120 pounds left. Oh yes, I got a 1970 JoHan Roadrunner for $27.00 on eBay. (blurry picture, sold as a GTX. I took a chance, and the model was perfect!) I have never found any deals at flea markets or yard sales. I still look, though.
  16. Thank you. the Greens were Dupli-Color Hampstead Green, and Dark Jade Green.
  17. Born 1960. Lean toward Fords but favorite 1960 is the Impala/Bel Air/Biscayne.
  18. This is just my opinion, many will differ...any car with the donk treatment makes the list.
  19. My '04 Element is the AWD model and gets about 24-25 mpg. These days that's not really a great number either. Better than my 19 mpg Caravan was, though.
  20. To be embarrassed about driving a car implies you care about what other people think when they see you in it. I don't care, and am quite happy with my Element. I have a large frame, and it was the smallest vehicle I found that I feel comfortable in (especially headroom). The only complaints I have are excessive engine noise in the interior, seats not good for long trips, and those goofy rear doors in tight parking. A+ on everything else (except styling. I don't hate it, but NOT A+).
  21. Gotta love a Lincoln. Very cool.
  22. Maybe one of those 1992 Ford pickup promos could donate a representation of the twin I beam. Were they still using Twin I beam in 1992?
