  1. More camper pics.
  2. Most everything but the cab, of course. The real thing My build. Real again Scale copy.
  3. Here's another.
  4. Thanks for the kind words. this should qualify as well.
  5. This is mostly scratchbuilt:
  6. Are there any accuracy issues that need addressed?
  7. I'll be there! I got my best friend hooked last year, and he's coming too. I really enjoy this show. I'll have to see if I finished anything since the last show. If I have, I'll bring it.
  8. I understand at one time the intake was offered in photoetch, but I've never seen them. I scratchbuilt mine, you can see no two are exactly alike.
  9. It's really a neat model. I have quite a few. What is often overlooked by modelers is the little grille right behind the door. It's supposed to be there, but there's no hint of it on the model except the spot where it should be. Here's examples of my efforts to add this detail.
  10. Of all my awards, this Best of Show from a large IPMS show means the most to me. It's hard to win in a mostly military environment. Some of the military models in that show were incredible!
  11. More additions: Gutter, meters, etc.
  12. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Repstock/School%20bus%20project/#!cpZZ2QQtppZZ16 I provide this link to those who may want to view more of the International bus. My intent is to avoid hijacking or diluting this thread.
  13. Is this too new? To me, this is an older bus.
  14. I decided early on that every light I install must be accessible in case I need to replace it. (obviously the traffic lights and streetlights are not accessible). With this in mind, one side of the round portion of the sign screws on to the other like a jar lid. The area directly behind the "chasing" lights is occupied by the male and female threads of the screw-on part, so there is no room behind them to do anything. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
  15. I couldn't figure out how to animate the chasing lights on the outer edge of the sign, but I lit everything else. These images are a bit overexposed, it's not this bright in person. In person, the signs are easily read. The traffic lights in the backround run through their sequence, but that's another story.
  16. I finished the bathrooms for the most part (pics later). I decided to tackle the Clark sign. The gas prices are from the later half of 1977.
  17. I feel your pain. I've often wondered why a promo that is so warped the front and rear ends are touching sells for what it does. You just have to accept that people want these things bad enough to pay the money.
  18. How about the front and rear bumbers? I see that one more than I like...bumbers?
  19. It also bugs me quite a bit when decals or models are presented as 1/24-1/25 scale. Even though models may not scale out exactly to either scale, I'd at least like to know what scale they're TRYING to represent. I really don't want to buy, say, a Trans Am decal sheet, find out it's actually 1/24, and end up with an overly large bird on my 1/25 Trans Am. Or a tiny bird if it happens in reverse. Certainly whoever did the artwork must have had a specific Trans Am model in mind when making the sheet! I know of an eBay resin seller that uses 1/24-1/25 scale to describe his resin cars, some of which represent, or are modified from, models of a known or stated scale, usually 1/25. Why not just say 1/25? Again, I know models aren't scaled perfectly, but I also know I can get more 1/25 cars on a shelf than 1/24, so there must be a difference! I can't imagine looking at a Lonestar on the shelf with the box claiming it was faithfully scaled using manufacturer's Cad drawings to an exact 1/24-1/25 scale.
  20. This isn't a touchy term, but about 50% of all misspellings I notice are covered by "lose" being spelled l-o-o-s-e. I think you will agree those are two very different things...To lose a girl to a breakup is different than breaking up because she's loose.
  21. Thanks. Right now I'm working on the restrooms. There's a lot of detail to be added to the back of the building, I'm looking forward to that part.
  22. At the base of the walls, about 13" wide, 8.5" deep. At the roof, it's about 13.5" wide, and 10" deep. Pretty compact for a building.
  23. In my long tradition of doing everything at least twice, I re-did the Clark logo on the station because it wasn't as bright as the SUPER 100. When I made the original logo, there were no plans to light the model. Here are pics with the new, improved logo...
  24. This one is still waiting...
