  1. That looks like a Hot Wheel, in an out of scale kinda way.
  2. I really like this classy build.
  3. Well...you know my Vote is the Monza, 2+2 all the way.
  4. Very cool! I had a 2+2, and it was one of my favorite cars I have owned. Too bad it was horse-shoed by a teenage driver running a stop sign.
  5. Today!? Having to have my windshield replaced. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/uploads/med_gallery_8985_809_382817.jpg
  6. Not really an Irk, but more of a peeve, AND model related. When "poseable" steering is referred to as "working steering". To me, working means, I turn the steering wheel and the wheels turn. The only reason this matters so much to me, is there are guys that make workable steering, and they indeed invest work.
  7. yeah, as I understand it, basically avoid things "organic" or from nature. Seems contrary to our own well being, but for model cars.......
  8. Mostly trim to the untrained eye. (like me) On some years, like the 66, the tailights of the Monaco light up fully, where on the Polara it was just the outer tips.
  9. Wow, that looks wonderful.
  10. There is some information on their mid 60s concepts here. http://www.sagebrushstudebaker.com/tw_intrst1.html
  11. well, I am glad you posted it. Very cool build.
  12. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the kind words. I took this to Modelzona in Phoenix today, and it won it's class, so that was a nice feeling.
  13. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the positive feedback. Yeah, they are pretty close, but I did not "measure" the wire, just felt like it looked more realistic. Young!? Ah, you flatter me! I love this body style. I may do another some day, but it took me over 10 years to get around to this one, so we will see. I learned as I went along, and there are some things I would do in a different order next time around. Part of the joy of the hobby!
  14. Thanks everyone Eric, I agree. It is a new camera to me and I have figure it out. I also shot these on my way out the door to work in a rush, runningh a wee bit late
  15. That is a real shame on the Polara. The Monaco would be a cool project too tho. What are you going to build it as? Custom, classic? If not.....You can always bring it along this weekend for a possible new home
  16. Was there ever a 67 or 68 Dodge Polara kitted? I would prefer there be a kit, but if not a promo might be an option. I hope so.
  17. One of the other things that I know can also do this is baking soda. I have heard of people using baking soda as "snow" on a display base etc, and it will have that chemical reaction talked about above. Do you have a diorama in the same display case that may have questionable products/chemicals in it? Do you use those powders you sprinkle on the carpets then vacuum up? etc etc Like said above, seal em up best you can. I put each completed build that is not a rust bucket or work vehicle in it's own case, then stack those where needed. Even the best glass case still let's in quite a bit of air/dust over time.
  18. Very cool! What primer did you use to help hide the ghosting lines?
  19. Kool! I like the "weld" touches.
  20. Thanks Guys! See you this weekend Danno!
  21. Just finished this up last night. It is not meant to be a factory stock, but rather a driver built by an auto enthusiast (IE: me if I had the money/shop etc) and was inspired by a 1:1 that used to be in my hometown about 15 years ago, babymoons and all. Starliner donated the chassis/motor, front bumper/grill and door handles are Alclad, rear bumper kit chrome, most of the remaining trim is foil. Since it reflects a driver, there has been some weathering on the chassis, (will add a bit more before this weekend's IPMS in Phoenix). Not real happy with the paint, had several issues with the clear, but not enough time to strip and reshoot. (I already did not ath a 40 Ford I am working on that will likely not make it for this weekend now. Me and paint not been real friendly as of late) I learned a few things that I would do differently, so I may do another one at some point. I hope you enjoy.
