64 Ford Galaxy (new pics 10/30/13)

No, I agree on the tank. I must admit that I am bad about dry fitting/test fitting as I go along. I "assume" things will work out, and we know what that leasds to! LOL. soo...problems arise. The grill was a pain on this for the same reason. I was so frustrated by the end, this was one of those builds I was just glad to see finished. I seem to say it a lot lately, but the builds just seem to fight me. Mostly I had issues with paint on this one. But, all in all I think it will look ok sitting on the shelf. I am following your 64 build, it loos great! -

OK guys, I will call this one done. Got going this week, and forgot to take some in between pics. I will also post more pics later today in under glass. BTW, do any of your guys know how to edit the subject line? I see some guys add the date when they update pics. -

Yes, they are worth picking up a few actually. Nice parts all around in the kit. Thank you. -
Sweet!

unless I am parting them out for other projects, or planning on building in different styles, I rarely buy multiples of a single kit to build it as it is. I have seen really nice "collections" get parted out and sold for way less than their true value when a builder passes away and their family has no idea of the value. (not just models, but any collectible, Stamps, coins, whatever) My stash/tools/paints are to be left to a builder friend, and my built ups to my sons and my dad. If I had a bunch of "valuable" kits, especaily those that I had multiples and would likely never build, my wife would have no clue what to do with them or how to get that value out of them. I have always been leary about collections of anything for that reason. What you put that time and love into, it is likely those around you will not know the full value. It was not their hobby.

I work in finance for Toyota Financial. We are the primary lender for Toyota/Lexus/Scion (captive lender actually), and the largest primary auto lender in the nation. I have been in finance and related services now for the better part of 20 years. -

You flatter me sir, but thank you. Witout a doubt, it is my favorite Galaxie as well. I would so enjoy havnig a 1:1 version, and have tried a couple times to locate one that I caould A) afford and be capable of rebuilding on a budget, LOW low budget. Thanks guys! Yeah, the donating Starliner kit really lends itself to good detail for sure. -

Richard, It is very clear to be now why your models always come together so quick, and look so good. You just have that "eye" that lets you see things and transform them from what you see in your mind, to what is actually there in front of you. I can envision things, but that transition from vision to reality, that takes a special something that you certainly seem to have. You garden, your home, your hobbies. You seem to be a deeply talented, and perhaps a very happy person. Good on you sir. -
Yup, the older I get, the more people that I have heard of that seem to die.

OK, I cut one of the spare glass inserts I had apart for a better fit, and then polished them out as well as dipped in Future. I have also nearly finished final assembly of the chassis, and may have done tonight! -

umm, and why is the cat/dog/human cowering behind the toilet? If he is trying to potty- he missed, trying to throw up- missed, drinking- yuck. Animals and toilets, the #1 reason to me not to have a pet in the house....and my wife just brought a puppy into the home. Now I will get attached to something that will ultimatley drive me nuts. Granted, not a long drive, but.... -

Is your build 1/25 or 1/24? Here is a link to a picture of the wheels next to a ruler, but not sure the scale of the ruler http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.model-making.eu/zdjecia/1/6/6/2345_1_fjm19292_1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.model-making.eu/products/Campagnolo-Wheel.html&h=525&w=1253&sz=158&tbnid=rQmysWQjqB3ShM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=215&zoom=1&usg=__cAVcJexlJfKCelOH6csSno2opPQ=&docid=4iJM5yZimaUQAM&sa=X&ei=63ZoUt-FJaqDjALR3YGgCg&ved=0CC8Q9QEwAg Most of the descriptions I find list the wheel height at 22.5 cm, so just break out your scale ruler and compare. I would guess that given the fact that they are 1/24 scale, they would be plenty tall enough, most of these wheels are. -
