  1. Congrats on the weight loss. I currently look a lot like the pic on the left. The wife just mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I needed to do something about my size. So we're starting WW ourselves. She lost 60 lbs a couple years ago on it, now its my turn. She needs to drop another 20-30, I need to drop 50. Feels like I'm getting ready to climb Mt Everest.
  2. Thanks for the comments, guys. The wheels do come from a 1/32 military kit, don't know which one. They have a ridge in the center of the rim like so... IMG]http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/ii568/unclepotts/129_zpsb18837be.jpg So I added a strip of .010 x .040 plastic on the outer edge This is the result
  3. This is my tentative plan for the 41 Chevy pickup. The bed will be replaced with a scratch built one. I am also not the most prolific builder on this forum, so you'll need to be patient with me, this may take awhile. Your input is welcome, thanks for looking.
  4. Wasn't this one in the "other guys" magazine some years back? If it is, it inspired me to build one very similar, mine is green. I thought the concept was excellent and needed to build one for myself. Thanks for the inspiration.
  5. Welcome. Like the rest of us, you'll learn a lot.
  6. Ok, I kept skippin' this thread, The title just didn't inspire me. But I kept seein' you guys posting, adding page after page. So.. I finally checked it out, thinkin' to myself that this is going to be lame. Well guys, I was wrong. This is one really cool build. I especially liked the use of the pod racer engines. This is one very creative build. Just proves that you can't judge a thread by its title.
  7. Nice rust. where'd you get the body? I don't remember there ever being a kit of this year.
  8. Bill, I just showed your last update with the rack and pinion and the steering knuckle, to my son. All he could say was " that's just nuts. " I gotta say , I have to agree. Every time I check in I feel like I'm being taken to school. In a good way off course. This is a fantastic build, can't wait till my next "class".
  9. I especially like the milk truck. Very nice dio, well done!
  10. I only build it once, except for the 50 chevy pickup, and the 2nd one was a rust bucket in a diorama. Once its done I'm off to something else.
  11. When I tell my buddies that one of the model car geeks is a girl... they won't believe.it! Nice job so far, going to keep an eye on this one.
  12. All of the diorama's I've done have been rusted relics. I like the idea of a vehicle that has been used, is past its prime, and has been forgotten by most. The viewer can use his imagination as to where its been, how it was used, and how it ended up where it is. No one comes up with the same story, which is in my opinion part of the charm behind this kind of display. Mine all have a "front " side, but can just as easily be viewed from all sides.
  13. Very cool subject, nicely executed. Thanks for sharing.
  14. That chassis is a piece of art in itself. Absolutely Amazing!
  15. I love both of these cars. I wish they were available in 1/25 scale, but then again I also want a 48 Tucker.
  16. I really felt a sense of loss the day that Greg took the forum down. I went to the "other guys" just to feed my daily need, it just wasn't the same. Greg I don't subscribe, because our mail service here is terrible. But I NEVER MISS AN ISSUE, thanks to my LHS. It would be a real loss to the hobby if we were to loose this resourse, please don't let em get to ya. Thanks for providing this forum, we all appreciate it, cause we wouldn't be here if we didn't. Paul
  17. X 10, or where ever the heck we're at.....Please don't make this forum go away, i might be an addict.
  18. Yuck!!! No thanks, not even a model, at any price!
  19. I have one from 1982, that i had started to scratch build a "better" front suspension. Discovered that I was in WAY over my head. I take it out every once in a while and think about starting to work on it again, but it ussually goes back in the box to be saved for another day. Maybe some day....... As far as the Lambo goes, you can have it anyway you want. Its a model, and its yours, do what you want.
