  1. Thats a really nice trailer. Just an fyi, that trailer is a representation of a 1970's era livestock trailer. what it is missing is the interior detail, the kit is basically a shell. The 1:1 has an upper deck, ramps, gates, and and a gate/ ramp comination in the front that allows the driver to load the nose of the trailer, called a counter balance gate. These were also steel trailers and were often painted red with a white roof. I've always wanted to build one myself, however a bench full of started projects and a day at work repairing these things tends to damper my enthusiasim. That and the fact I haven't purchased one yet. I always thought it would be interesting to build a modern version, but none of the components used in the kit are accurate fora newer trailer, since the construction is totally different. Nice job on this one, its nice to see these when finished. Paul
  2. New to this, just made my first trade with LDO, got my model in a timely manner good guy to deal with. Also made a trade with outragis, also a good guy to trade with. Before trading with clavender17, pm me.
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Schwinn-Krate-Bicycle-1970s-MPC-Model-Kit-Mint-Box-/121044368571?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D4743343427172486748%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D121044368571%26 I FOUND ONE! I've been looking for one of these for over a year. The price however is currently $ 99.99, way out of my price range, bummer.
  4. My wife says thats a rediculous amount to pay for a model..........I don't think she gets it.
  5. They made a 1/8 scale model of the Schwinn "krate" bicycles. Wish I had one of those today, haven't seen one in years.
  6. If the Foose art on the box matched the model inside, it would have been better recieved. However the way they did it was a pure waste in my opinion.
  7. Just checked my LHS, no Dec issue yet. i realize that eventually all printed material will only be found in a digital form someday. In fact another magazine,(not model related), that I read faithfully, has recently expanded their online format. You can actually read it online a month before it is available in print. But being of the over 50 crowd I still have a soft spot for the printed page. It's easier on the eyes. I can take it to work and read it on my breaks. And it can be taken into the library at home. (aka bathroom) I can't my computer. So, while it is available in print form I will still paitently(?) wait for the latest issue to arrive. I read the "other guys" magazine also, even though I personally feel that it is more fluff, especially the Jan issue. And there may be fewer tips that I haven't seen before, but frankly some of us have been around for a while and have seen quite abit more than others, we have to remember that there are newbies out there still learning that need this information. So if you are not happy with the content, belly up to the work bench and produce some magazine quality content and building techniques and contribute something constructive to the next issue. Maybe with more quality content contributed, we'll get better, more timely magazines for all of us to read. Just my narrow-minded personal opinion. Paul
  8. Nicely done, Harry. I love these old buses. I've always wanted to build a 1/25 scale model of one, but they're hard to find, and expensive. Someday....maybe.
  9. DAve wish there was something we could do to help, are you still looking for another place? If there is anything we can do to help, let us know.
  10. Sorry to hear this, Dave. I really enjoyed this event, it was my favorite of the year. Hopefully a new venue can be found in the future.

  15. I had lost touch with this thread and decided to look it up to see what progress had been made in the last couple of months. Man I was not disappointed! This thing is fabulous, amazing workmanship. I will have to keep refering to this thread for ideas and tips on how to build my models from now on.
  16. Of the demo cars, I like the #71 green wagon. But my Favorite is the Chevy pickup.
  17. I know that projects can stall and life gets in the way, but has there been any progress since June? I would love to see how this project has progressed, if you've been able. If not I understand, I've been away from the bench since may, due to summer activities, and then ahome improvement project forced upon me by a broken water pipe inside a wall in my house. Can you update us please?
  18. I'm not really into bikes usually, but i'm going to watch this one., you've caught my attention.
  19. I went last year for the first time, I'll be back.
  20. This is the way I did it also, works every time. Also warm water helps keep the paint from setting up too quickly.
  21. Thanks guys appreciate the kind words. Here are some more pics that you ask for.
  22. If you can make this show it is well worth it. There are alot of vendors and some very talented builders there, if you've seen these guys work you'd know what I'm talking about. Just go, its worth the trip.
