Hand painted bodies? (brush painted)
mrknowetall replied to wagonguy1989's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Like Tom, everything I paint gets a rattle can coat, or airbrushed. That's just me, and it's easier and faster for me. Also, most items get some time in the dehydrator (that round thing to the left in the image) to speed things along. -
Very cool!

Really nice build, John! Many of John's metal axle models are in the "General" part of MCM forums, listed under Metal Axle Madness. Check 'em out! -

Terrific work, John! Looks like you're having fun, which is what we're all supposed to be doing with our builds. -

One more prehistoric Car Model magazine. I have more, but I need to find them. R&C features the iconic Dream Truck. -
What makes a pro modeler a pro ?

I built three box art models for AMT/ERTL about twenty years ago. Ain't I a professional? But seriously? I've seen that pro-built term used on eBay, and it equates to the seller trying to wring a few more dollars out of his auction. -

The ones I have are pretty raggedy, and the images I've posted have been enhanced a bit. -

You guys are on a roll now! Keep 'em coming, and thanks! -
This thread (topic) might not work for the whippersnapper members, but I'm gonna bet there are many MCM members that remember, or own the classic "little page" magazines. So, I'll start. At some point, I'll show you the current little page magazines, although there aren't that many. If you have some, show 'em!

Rattle Cans - who still uses them?
mrknowetall replied to tiking's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Alclad number is 5114. $14.95 for a 3 ounce can. It's not cheap, but a little goes a long way. -

I can't imagine no Internet in my life. Between eBay, Amazon and a host of forums similar to this one, I can entertain myself (and empty my wallet). All good! BTW, I ain't no spring chicken. I basically taught myself how to use a computer in the nineties (using an ancient Gateway PC a relative gave me). Same for digital photography.
