Nice one Jim ! I like that color !

Congrats on the Electra Glide kit , looks like some really nice parts in that one ! I doubt your problem is the plastic or the Purple Power , more than likely it's the type of glue you are using . Liquid cements work when there is a tight fit with no gaps , and they all are designed to work with specific types of plastic . Some work better on styrene than others . And super glue or CA glue really doesn't make a strong joint , in fact it's very brittle and parts can be easily broken apart . It has its uses but not for anything structural like a frame ! If all else fails , use Testor's Model cement in the orange tube !

Wow , that's a beautiful model ! Absolutely one of the finest models I've seen in a long time ! -
That's pretty sharp , I bet they would've sold a ton of those !

I decided to work on the bed opening profile one more time , don't know why I can't get it right ! Here's the shape it's supposed to be . So I added some plastic and tried again ! That might be pretty close . I need to clean it up a bit and make sure it's the way I want it before adding the bed molding !

Thanks Robert ! And you are probably right about the grille . I remember at the salvage yard I picked the best parts off of 3 El Caminos they had , and that was the nicest looking grille . I always said it was a '77 front clip just to make it easy , maybe I'll change that to a '76 so I don't get a bunch of " Gotcha's " !

Beautifully done Shane , I really like that color ! Your detailing is first class too , but I have to agree that the panel lines are a bit too dark .

I was able to spend some time on this over the long weekend , so with the body starting to look right I decided to put it up on all fours ! Well , really just two wheels and tires that I grabbed from my parts box . There's still a lot to do before the body is finished , but here it is . Thanks for looking !

Well call me " Weird " 'cause I like it ! With a little surgery and some TLC it would make a cool little show rod !

Very nicely done ! One of my 60's came from the factory painted blue with a red interior . . . it kinda grows on you !

That's a real beauty ! The wire wheels and Continental kit really set it apart . . . great colors too !

That's pretty , very nice work ! And that group photo is great !

You can't see it in the photos but I've spent about 20 hours this past week fine tuning the body . Mainly the shape of the wheel openings and the flares , and the shape of the bed opening and windows . I've added the body creases from the top of the front fenders back along the top of the doors , and from behind the doors back to and across the tailgate . I also added the filler panels for the front bumper and started on the bumper and grille . The grille surround in the photo is just a test piece . I haven't done much at the rear yet , there are some pretty weird shapes at the bottom of the tailgate and the filler panel . I guess that's next , Then I can start on the trim .

Very nice ! That full bumper looks so much better than the split bumpers .
