  1. Very nicely done , great color combination !
  2. Thank you much Stan ! It's really more trial and error to get things right than skill . Update : I did a little painting last night and tried something different on the floorboards , not sure yet if I like it . I did some fitting and found the frame needed a little grinding to clear the headers . I also added some small tabs for the brake lines . Everything fits now ! And I sprayed the tires with white primer followed by TS - 6 Matte Black , after drying overnight I used a very fine file on the raised lettering . This takes a very light touch , luckily there are letters on both sides of the tires so I had two chances to get it right ! I did a little touch-up on one of the tires but it isn't noticeable .
  3. Looks good Pat ! Great idea for the windshield , it looks much better !
  4. Ray , I take back my earlier comment about waiting 4 - 6 weeks . I ordered a bumper from them on June 2nd and just got an email today that it has shipped ! That's not bad considering they make everything per order .
  5. Good choice replacing the spare tire , it looks much better than that resin piece . You should be able to get another sidepipe , only problem is it'll take 4 - 6 weeks ! I think I'd try cutting one like you said while you're waiting , I think you'll need to make new hangers for it too . Have fun !
  6. Very cool looking car Curt , and some great detailing ! Definitely a good use for a so - so kit .
  7. Nice one Rick , that IS a nice kit !
  8. Very , very , VERY nice ! I salute you on a beautiful job !
  9. Excellent work , great colors and your detailing is superb ! Personally I love the '60 Fords !
  10. Great looking build ! I like the photo of you on the beach , looks like fun !
  11. After putting these parts in and out dozens of times I figured it would be much easier if they were all one piece . That's much better !
  12. That's very nice ! Beautiful finish and great details .
  13. Thanks Danno ! I spent about two hours today adjusting the fit of the engine compartment , time flies when you're having fun ! I removed the A/C Evaporator case and replaced it with a blower / heater case I found , and I fit a radiator and shroud to the core support ( lots of sanding and fitting here so that the hood would still close ) . I found these headers in my parts box , I think they came from a Nova kit . And these are the wheels I'm using . I don't care for the chrome so I'm going to spray them with some semi-gloss clear , if that doesn't work I'll strip them and spray with Alcad II .
  14. Thank you Robert ! Mine had a 350 with a TH350 trans , while I had the engine out I decided to put in a M21 that I had in the garage . Probably not the best decision for a work truck but it was lots of fun ! I remember driving a new '74 with a 454 / 4 - spd and really liked it except the extra weight of the big block was really noticeable .
  15. Very cool , and great choice of colors !
  16. The original Cheetahs did run Goodyears . Most of the photos with BFG and Hoosiers are Continuation Cars ( aka Kit Cars ) . I don't see why you can't use any kind of tire on one . . . just like Cobras , no two are alike !
  17. Thanks Pat ! Just a small update : After a little trimming the floorboard from the AMT '68 El Camino fit right into place . The separate frame locates to the floor with molded in pins . When I extended the wheelbase on the body I made sure it matched this frame . I had to trim about 1/16" from the bottom of the firewall to make it fit . The inner fenders were molded to the '68 body and had to be cut off , they fit pretty good with just a little sanding . I'm going to use the suspension from the AMT kit and I've got a small block / 4 speed from my parts box , so I'm ready to start getting serious with building this ! I've got some tires from Fireball Modelworks for it , but I'm still searching for some wheels I like . And I still have to fit the door panels to the inside of the body , and modify the dash and seats ( I'm using the Revell Monte Carlo ones but they look like garbage . And the bumpers aren't finished yet . And I want to hinge the hood . WOW , lots of things left to do . . . time to get to work ! Oh , I finished the rear window frame too , so that about finishes the body .
  18. That looks very , very nice ! The tri - color interior and engine detailing are excellent !
  19. You can do it no problem , I'm ready to watch !
  20. Beautiful work Mike ! The paint , the wood , and your detailing are excellent !
  21. I'd say it was worth all of the sweat , great job on the paint !
  22. Yes they are , but to me they are like diecasts . . . nice looking but not a model ! I'm still going to build the Cox body and I'm looking forward to seeing yours too !
  23. It's going to be my detailed build , the silver Cheetah is in my display case ! No , but they've been around long enough that parts might start showing up online .
  24. Now that's my kind of Bug ! It seems like most of the cars I've ever owned end up looking like that . Very nice work Chuck !
