  1. Thanks for coming back on that Les. I will be interested to hear what you think about it when you get around to using it. Cheers.
  2. Correction.........I should have said Green Stuff World not Hobby. Les, did you get yours in the UK?
  3. Hopefully Revell might issue their chrome in bottles for airbrush use sometime soon. Good to see that it can be sealed without any detriment to the shine. Has anyone tried Green Stuff World's Airbrush and Brush Applied Chromes. They look very impressive on their website.
  4. I think that most of us have run out of superlatives when trying to describe this superb exercise in miniaturisation. To scratch build a model of this particular subject, and in 1/24th scale is artisan model engineering at its highest level.
  5. My Molotow pen tip dried out and got really messy when I tried to clean it out. Saw a video on Green Stuff World's website. They have an airbrushing chrome and one that was being applied by brush. They were using a figure for a demo and just dabbing the brush chrome onto it with fantastic results as far as I could see. Has anyone reading this used the Green Stuff chromes and can comment on them?
  6. Thanks for the feedback Steve. I thought that the Turbine car kit would be a bit of a rarity these days.
  7. I remember building their Chrysler Turbine car kit many years ago and spraying it with an AMT lacquer colour that looked very much like the prototype's colour. It was quite a nice kit to build as I recall from way back when it was first issued. Would like to build another. Has Atlantis or someone else got the moulds ?
  8. Aspirational Clutter ! What a brilliant way Dave Ambrose has summed this all up in just two words !
  9. Lovely model Chris ! How well did it go together ? Agora had a stand at IPMS UK Scale Modelworld Show 2023 with some very impressive models on display. I was really impressed by their Bond Aston Martin DB5 (the Daniel Craig Bond movie version). Their AC Cobra on display looked tempting too.
  10. Nearly there Francois ! This has been a fascinating project to follow. Any ideas about your next one when the Bentley is finally finished ?
  11. Like those 'scale' braided hoses being just very small diameter screened cable with the outer plastic insulation stripped off ! Likewise 'scale' ignition wiring that is just very thin insulated wire for electronics. Both obtainable in coils as cheap as chips from electronics suppliers.
  12. I find automotive acrylic primers from an aerosol perfectly ok on my models and see no need for using modeller aimed products. The ones I have used go on well and do not obliterate detail. They are generally easy to source and per millilitre a lot less expensive than hobby primers, plus not having the faff of setting up an airbrush.
  13. Long gone now, but I can remember building that clear bodied kit from way back. This particular model shows what can be done with a kit that dates back to the 60's/70's.
  14. Beautiful build. Chassis frame in brass and the detailed engine really look good. The thin wire wheels are something to behold adding to the realism.
  15. Resin has its own set of challenges where it differs from styrene. This thread shows a very nice model build from that Profil 24 Aston kit I must say.
  16. A really nicely built model. I used to have a Fiat 500 back in the 70's. Fun to drive but a bit of a rust bucket unfortunately. Now that Tamiya has released it again I will have to get one and make a model of my old car. Should be easy to change to RHD. Just the steering wheel and foot pedals as the dash board had just one combined instrument gauge in the middle.
  17. MCW enamels? Does MCW interpret as Model Car World? So proper car matching colours like Zero Paints? Not heard of the brand before. Are their paints distributed in the UK or only Stateside?
  18. Often you can obtain very thin clear distortion free plastic sheet from vacuum formed packaging material that is big enough for flat pieces to be cut out from.
  19. Sounds like her kids are too darned lazy to bother getting a job ! Next time she starts playing the poor single mother card, give a Gallic shrug, turn your back, walk away.and just blank her. People like that cannot stand to be ignored. Keep ignoring her and eventually she will give up when she realises it is having no effect. Passive defiance ! That is how I would deal with it.
  20. Gerald, the best way to deal with your co worker who tries to belittle you is next time they try it on ask that person ' Have you got an inferiority complex that makes you feel the need to belittle me as a result?' What they are doing is a form of bullying, and usually bullies are rank cowards and only pick on someone if they think they can get away with it. When faced off they generally back down.
  21. Really nice classic Cord Anders. We all lose our modelling mojo now and again and generally come back to it. I also enjoyed looking at your Heller DS19 build a little while back. Monogram made a nice classic cars series back in the day. Besides the Cord I can remember a Duesenberg, Rolls Royce, Packard, Bugatti to name a few.
  22. Nice model and upgrades to this Heller kit. Very impressive build. The old Merit one is nowhere near as good. It survived along with the Alfetta kit via SMER for ages, but think the moulds may have gone to Atlantis? However, I have seen both those old kits turned into very nice fully detailed models in the past, so the potential is there and they are relatively cheap kits to buy.
  23. Looking better every time I check your thread Francois !
