C 600 Ford flatbed Shelby Cobra hauler
cobraman replied to cobraman's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks Carl and Rex. -
First off let me say I did have some problems with this kit . I had trouble getting the cab to fit onto the chassis . Try as I did I just could not get it right . Bottom line is that it is now more of a curbside as I removed everything under the cab to get it down right . The mirrors were also a pain for me to get right . Some of my added details are a bit clumsy and a Cobra would never have been loaded like this but since it is only a model ............... Truck was painted with Big Bad Blue . The decals are from the Cobra Racing Team model . I did strip some chrome . I made the ladder . Added hoses to the welding tanks . Wood bed is stained balsa . Bed front and sides were made from sheet plastic . Misc. other little details . Overall I am pretty happy with it . Comments good or bad are always welcome .

This one is done and photos will be in the under glass section soon if interested . -
This Cobra was built as a Cobra under construction . It became the cargo on the Shelby hauler project I was working on . Not the way a Cobra would really be loaded but what the heck ? Car was painted with Duplicolor Ultimate Chrome . Not much else to say about it . More photos will be in the big rig under glass section .

Well, I just spent about a half hour trying to install one of the 5 piece mirrors. I said cuss words I don't even know the meaning to ! Now I know why they don't show the mirrors on the box art. Not working on the other one till tomorrow. -
Sweet looking model.

Thanks for the comments guys. Carl, no I did not shorten it. It was built as intended. The kit does come with the longer frame rails and also a longer driveshaft however not a longer bed. The wheelbase does seem to short to me. Probably could have move the rears back a bit. -
Very sharp.

Neat looking little car.

Did you experience the Blizzard of '78?
cobraman replied to Jon Cole's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Not that one but the one in 67 in Chicago. Yikes ! My dads 62 Ford was in the drive next to the house where it drifted so bad you could not see that there was a car there.
