  1. Yup, the Modelhaus Starliner is very nice. You can kitbash the forthcoming '61 with the Modelhaus body and the chassis /engine from the AMT '60 to build a great Starliner!
  2. Sorry but it's not a Starliner, it's the square roof hardtop. It's still worth picking up, some nice custom parts.
  3. I like it a lot! It reminds me of cars that ran around my hometown in the mid '60's. You don't need pretty to be FAST!
  4. Ed's one of the BEST! His customer service skills match the quality of his products. I recently got his chopped '34 Ford coupe and his chopped '37 Chevy coupe and they are excellent. Guys like Ed deserve our support!
  5. The Round2 re-issue of the AMT '60 Ford has 2 complete FE engines and 3 intake options. There are other duplicate parts as well, a great kit. The Round2 '62 Pontiac is another good parts kit. Stock and custom exterior parts and 2 complete interiors. The Revell Black Widow '57 Chevy has 2 engines. Most of the old AMT Trophy Series kits have 2 complete engines. There are lots of others out there.
  6. William, your Ala Kart engine is from the '90's new tool kit, the engine in question is from the original '60's Double Kit tooling which built an Ala Kart and a '29 Model A roadster. And I agree with Dave that the 2 axle hole engines look like Ford FE's from AMT 3 in 1 kits.
  7. Man that's nice! Great paint work. I also like the way you backdated it with the nailhead to the way it was before Ford owned it. I like it a lot!
  8. Bottom left is the Dodge Hemi from the original AMT Ala Kart kit. The axle hole engines are from '60's AMT 3 in 1 kits. The 4 cylinder, center bottom is the stock '29 Model A engine from the Ala Kart kit with the OHV conversion. I'm pretty sure Bill got the other engines correct.
  9. Grim Reaper nailed it. It's the AMT parts pack frame, I have several.
  10. They're in the stand alone seasonal displays. I picked up a '32 5 window and a '69 Nova yesterday in the Joliet IL. area. They had a good variety of kits.
  11. I know Tom Carter and I've sold kits to him in the past. He's a great guy and one of the most knowledgeable model car experts around.
  12. I remember you! Your Dad's shop was one of my favorite places and your parents are 2 of the finest people I've ever known. Glad to see you getting back into modeling. Say hi to your Dad for me, Dan the fish inspector who part timed at Rider's Madison Heights..
  13. I've seen a lot of things suggested that I agree would be nice to have in modern tooling. I'd love to see new tool '53/'54 Chevies. Maybe a Bel Air first and then a Convertible. The Monogram kit has that "Japanese Sci-Fi Movie" look common to many Monogram kits of that era. The Revell kit has a much better body but still doesn't look quite right. These are very popular cars in the full sized world, I want to build some in scale!
  14. AMT '32 Ford Roadster (Pontiac Power), AMT '32 Ford Phaeton( Early Hemi Power)and MPC '27 Model T closed cab pickup(W motor Power), all hot rods.
  15. I have 3000+ unbuilt car kits. My excuses are: 1) I used to sell at toy shows (The DAAM Shows near Detroit.) 2) I worked part time at a hobby shop for 8 1/2 years where I could by everything at 10% over cost. 3)Some of my buddies have more than me so I think some sort of contagion might be at work here. 4) I love model cars!
  16. Very nice Jeff! Great color and even though you restrained yourself on features it shows your usual talent for execution of your ideas. AMT nailed the body on this one, it's a great old kit. When I worked in the hobby shop it was my recommendation for a first glue kit every time.
  17. Nice Chevelle! My real one had those wheel covers when I got it in 1970. You did a great job, green is my favorite color. I see you have a Rosies Diner poster. The model car club I belong to meets there occasionally. Link: http://www.rosiesdiner.com/
  18. I don't know of any scale lace stencils but this guy will make scale lace decals. http://vsrnonline.com/gregsdecalgraphics/index.htm In the era your shooting for murals were much bigger in vans while the lace was found on everything from customs to race cars. Good luck on your project!
  19. Like Chris I don't know anyone who's been screwed by Perry's and I didn't mean to imply that. It takes a long time for the stuff to show but the quality is top notch.
  20. I ordered his 2 chopped '32 Ford Coupe bodies (3w, 5w) a couple of years ago. It took over 3 months to get them but they are very nice! I want one of the '48 Ford coupe bodies too but don't want to wait months to get it. It's a shame!
  21. I can almost hear it and smell the nitro Drew! Thanks for the frame modification tips. I have half a dozen Ivo kits and will buy more.
  22. I think we did talk on TRAK! Good luck on your '32, keep us up to date.
  23. My sister lives on Big Crooked Lake just outside Lowell. Small world!
