  1. Those of you who remember David Brinkley, the old NBC news man remember his sense of humor. Back in the late '60's a large group of Californians gave away all of their possessions and went to a local mountain to wait for the end of the world. Brinkley closed the coverage of the loonies with this statement, "Should the world come to an end NBC news will provide up to the minute coverage".
  2. It sure would be nice to have the Little Deuce parts restored! I walked in to a dollar store in Warren MI. in 1998 and found these kits (the yellow '90's version) bagged, complete except for the box for a buck each. I bought all 26 of them.
  3. 'One off". what the heck does that mean. The correct term is "one of", being short for "one of a kind". It's been misused so often that it's become an accepted term used even by people who should know better. It makes me cringe when I hear it. The old NBC news man Edwin Newman was an expert on grammar (Kind of a grammar Nazi) and would get enraged over grammatical errors. I always picture him beating someone senseless after using the phrase "one off'. OK, now I feel better.
  4. I went to a LHS today and got 2 special Edition Revell Austin Healey's for $9.99 each on closeout. Not bad! Then I went to pick up my wife at Goodwill and she had found me a 1/8th Monogram '82 Camaro and a 1/8th Monogram '82 Corvette for $6.99 each. They are both unstarted and complete with fair to rough boxes. All in all a pretty good day!
  5. Jamie Senvisky, RT6PK, is a great guy to deal with. Quick delivery, items just as described. I would trade with him again in a heartbeat! I just completed a trade with Kris Morgan of Morgan Automotive Detail and would be more than happy to trade with him again. A very good guy to deal with AND his aftermarket distributors and trannies are some of the nicest I've seen. Highly recommended as a trader and as an aftermarket vendor! I just did a trade with Pete Linszky, Pete L. on the board, and would happily trade with him again. The item was just as he said and was shipped very quickly. Trade with confidence with Pete! I just completed a trade with Justin Dampier, JMD904 on the board, and was very pleased with the trade. He even threw in an extra set of wheels. Thanks Justin, he's a great trader! I just completed a trade with Rich Manson, RAMFINS59 on the board, and would happily trade with him again. It was smooth and fast, he's a great guy, and a great trader! I just completed a trade with Ron Lambert, AM73GRAND on the board, and I'd be happy to trade with him again. Fast and just exactly as he described it. Another great guy, highly recommended trader! I just got my half of a trade with Casey Littman. He's a great guy to deal with, he even threw in a few extra parts. I look forward to the opportunity to trade with him again. Trade with confidence with Casey! Add MK11, Mike Mackie to the good traders list. Started a trade with him right before the board went down and everything went smooth as silk even though we couldn't communicate while the board was down. Great guy to deal with! Highly recommended! I just completed a trade with Nic Henson, ScaleCentral on the board. Fast and smooth, he's one of the good guys. Looking forward to dealing with him again!
  6. The Anniversary version of the AMT '63 Coupe has both the hard and soft tops for the convertible in it. The convertibles that don't have to roofs do have the glass. I have 2 of the Modelhaus roofs, excellent as usual.
  7. Revell also had 4 motorcycle kits in the parts pack series. A BSA, a Triumph, a Harley and a Honda. All neat little kits. I still have 2 of the Triumphs.
  8. I'm pretty sure the tree with the tri power manifold is also from the old AMT '67 Chevy kits. I think I built my convertible with those wheels. The small tree with the blower might be from a later issue AMT '29 Model A roadster.
  9. WOW! Just a second while I pick my tounge up off the floor. Outstanding work!
  10. I have one. They are very nice, typical of Ed's products. Great guy to deal with.
  11. A closed cab '32 Ford pickup would be nice! Some more '50's BOP or other '50's non Ford/Chevies would be nice. I haven't been to Cleveland since the '50's but if it turned out Tom Kren, one of my favorite builders, it must have something going for it.
  12. I like it. I spent many Saturday nights at local short tracks growing up. I'd like to see more pictures if you have them.
  13. I'm with Mike and Austin. I love toy shows. If I think I'm getting a good deal on something I sure don't care if the other guy is making a profit.
  14. Beautiful Ford Dennis. It has that great " East Coast" look I love! That profile shot says it all, pure hot rod.
  15. Decals shmecals! I can't wait for the '50 Olds coupe, my favorite body style of my favorite '50's car. Chances of me building the old Pan America racer are VERY slim. Any of you pro touring guys want to get rid of those nasty old 303's I'll take as many as I can get!
  16. The AMT '56 Ford kit has a nice set of baby moons. Parts by Parks had a very nice set of baby moons in metal but I don't know if he still makes them.
  17. That is a Dodge Dart, about 1976. That kit has been released mislabeled as a Duster a couple of times.
  18. The AMT '40 Ford sedan, Revell Beatnik Bandit, Anglia, Thames Panel and old opening door Stone Woods and Cooke Willys all have early Olds V-8s in them. I'm very anxious for that '50 Olds kit! I love them and it gives us another modern tool hot rod engine!
  19. Incredible work as usual Tim! I wish my eyes were better for when I see it in person. Maybe I'll start bringing my magnavisor to the meetings.
  20. It is a '35 Truck grill, I just got 2 of them from Ed about a month ago. He did the master himself. If you've never bought from Ed you should check out his stuff, I have a lot of his items and have never been disappointed! http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/member_dealer_directory/drag-city-casting-/ Send him an e-mail if you see something you like.
  21. Here is some info on this car: http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/145280/ As Craig said the Mystery 427 looked much like the production 396/427 but shared no interchangeable parts.
  22. http://www.archertransfers.com/SurfaceDetailsMain.html Check these out. They are resin louvers on decal film. Bernard Kron used them on his model A rodster and they looked great. I believe he used the 6 inch in O scale. He's a member here, send him a PM for details.
  23. I'll be there! I can't wait. I don't have as many kits I'm hunting for as I used too but I still enjoy looking and sometimes run into friends. What could be better?
  24. You will not be disappointed with anything Shawn Carpenter produces. I have 2 of his conversions and I want the Grand Prix!
  25. Ed's last name is Fluck. His dad owned F&F Resin Casting.
