  1. Steve, I PM'd you a scan of the 1968 NHRA Super Stock rules from the Rulebook.
  2. If you look closely at the instruction sheet for that Mopar wedge you will see a cut in the engine where the distributor goes. The placement in the picture is misleading but when I built this kit in the '60's I built it correct and the 2 built engines I've picked up in parts lots both have the distributor in the correct spot.
  3. I'm building a '32 Roadster with the Pontiac from the '36 Ford. I shortened the tranny a little to make it fit. Bob is right about the firewall needing modification. I've also put the '32 Roadster Hemi in a Phaeton and that was more of a drop in swap.
  4. I remember the first article I read about the SOHC 427 in 1964. The engine was in a '64 Galaxie and the article began something like this, " This engine will propel the car to Michigan's liberal 70 MPH speed limit, in first gear."
  5. The 409 and firewall were in the original kit but got lost or damaged. They (AMT) cobbled up a replacement 409 nowhere the quality of the original. They also replaced the red and chrome tail lights with cast in units. The body is still very nice and some kit bashing with an AMT '64 will get you a firewall and a much better 409.
  6. It was an MPC product marketed by AMT. Only available in '65.
  7. I used to work at a Hobby Shop part time and had several people ask me if I wanted to build a model for them. Most thought buying the model and giving me $10 would be fair. I told them that one of my customers (Mike Kollver) built for other people and that he was a master builder. When they asked what he charged I said "$125 plus expenses." I never had anyone pass out but there was a lot of grumbling. This is the definition of clueless.
  8. I just pinched the rails on a Ron Cash Deuce chassis for Chuck's '27 T roadster with the louvered trunk. I have several of his bodies and plan on buying more. I agree that he should mention Altered States on his E bay profile.
  9. I still have my hat from the very first tour. They stopped in Mount Clemens MI., and I lived in Clawson. If you get a chance check it out.
  10. The '66 Rivi has a nailhead. The '69 has a second generation Buick V-8 and it's not bad except for the hole in the block
  11. I like it! Very bad, mean and nasty! who doesn't like an 8 carb early Hemi?
  12. Old Man Down the Road is Altered States Resin. Very nice products and a good guy to deal with. The '32 isn't listed on his web sight, send him an e mail.
  13. Very nice build! I got to see it run a few times. It was bad to the bone and you've captured it well!
  14. The last version of the AMT '34 5 window can be built as a rod or stock, it has both interiors, suspensions and engines. The box is similar to the red one pictured and is hefty with all the extra parts..
  15. You need a Flex-I-File set. Ask at your local hobby shop. Do to the wonders of modern technology I can't paste the link. Do a search and sources will come up.
  16. By the way, I saw the Bronco Buster a couple of times and it was cool but slow compared to it's competition. Also had a bad hopping problem like some fuel altereds because of the short wheel base.
  17. I hope this works. I just upgraded to 8.1 and can't figure out how to paste. There should be an old Car Craft x ray picture attached as a file. Dan H.
  18. Not only do they have it but their products are top notch and they're great people to deal with. Glad I could help.
  19. Check the Modelhaus. They have what your looking for in resin.
  20. No problem, let us know what works for you. I love the paint, haven't used the clear.
  21. Go to his web sight and check out his usage recommendations. I think he recommends 20lbs as a starting point.
  22. Kris Morgan does a very nice one in resin.
  23. Great start Matt! The channeling was worth the effort, it looks great. I'm trying so hard to finish 2 builds I'm close on before starting one of these. It's a struggle and you aren't helping!
  24. The Mobil Gas station by me just became a BP about a week ago. It was a quick change over.
  25. I'll walk away from a build if it has me frustrated. I have lots of ongoing projects so I just move on to something else. When I go back the problems usually get solved easily and I'm on my way again. I also build for the fun of it, so, as long as I'm progressing on something I'm happy.
