  2. Thanks, fellas.... I'm thinking of putting lakes pipes along the bed..... I would love to paint this in MetalCast purple, give it a "candy" look........
  3. Hey, fellas! So I've been working on this for a couple days...... It's the Revell '50 F1 that everyone knows so well. Going with a tail-draggin' stance and a few mild custom touches..... Wheels from the '58 Vette and I think the tires are from the '60 Starliner.... still need to attend to the mold seams and attachment points on the body parts..... Not sure on the color, but I do want to use the scallop decals that this kit comes with..... The basis of the engine is done..... Comments are more than welcome, Thanks.....
  4. Using fast drying paints helps to lessen the window where the paint is tacky, so if you get dust on the surface it is easy to remove before the next coat.........
  5. He does usually send my purchases Priority Mail when I always pay for regular Ground, so I guess that's a couple bucks saved...... Thanks, guys.....
  6. I just spray directly from the can.... A lot of guys here may would advise that you practice airbrushing on things like interiors and engines before you dive into spraying a body. DupliColor paints can be decanted, and there are a few threads on how to do that here.....
  7. Hey, Doug...... not sure how to help you with this paint job, but maybe I can save you some grief in the future..... I use only DupliColor primer, paint, and their Perfect-Match clear (in the small can)....... it lays so smooth that it's nearly impossible to get either runs or orange peel. This minimizes the need to sand...... I did this paint job with only DupliColor products.... and don't mind Snake, he can be a bit moody at times........
  8. Hey, Guys....... I just made an order from Model Roundup. While checking out, I saw a field where it asks for a coupon code....... Where does one get coupons for this site? I had to spend $50 just for a model and display case, any way to help save some money would be nice..........
  9. Thanks for the awesome comments, guys! I'm just glad it was to be a convertible, as the roof piece is one clear part with the glass molded in........
  10. I built this for a friend who had one back in the day....... She was very pleased and said it looked just like her car.... There's a WIP for those interested. Thanks! and comment freely..........
  11. I have these scallop decals I could send you, if you'd like......
  12. Hey, Tom.... have you got a build thread for the Galaxie? I looked but didn't see one....... This is how the final fitment is going to work out.... This is a quirky little kit, but it really looks the part.....
  13. The '59 Buick has always been a favorite, They lend themselves very well to some custom touches, too........
  14. Got some paint on over the past couple days..... It has a pearl to it that's hard to get right in a pic.....
  15. Not only a cool cover, but a real good album, too
  16. Thanks for the kind comments, guys........ I noticed that while looking at pics for inspiration...... I guess the baby Birds are too cool to really need customization... So far I have planned to shave some stuff, and use some chrome reverse wheels and wide whites......
  17. I guess I've kinda fallen into a niche with my building style, that being the mild custom..... Got this kit in a trade with a pretty cool guy here, it's on the bench now. I'm using the back glass from a Moebius Chrysler to give this Bird a speedster style windscreen...... Some filler to fill where the windshield falls short of fitting the cowl.... Hopefully you'll follow along, thanks for looking, and comment freely!
  18. Next up is this lovely car! Any guess as to what it is?
  19. This car happens to be a '53 Plymouth........ you guys are pretty sharp....

  21. I have a good friend that is looking at a used car.... it's a 2015 Volkswagen Passat TDI Diesel. It's a low mileage, one owner car.... What would be a good place to find reviews of this car? Both from when it was new, and now that it's used? Also, if anyone has personal experience with these please feel free to share......
  22. Thank You! If you look at the pics of when I first got her, you can see how skinny she was and how far she's come..... a little TLC and a healthy food goes a long way.....

  24. A little grayer, a little more spoiled......
  25. An elderly lady and a young woman were both approaching the apartment building door. The young lady opens the door for the elderly woman, saying "Age before beauty"..... "That's usually the order it happens in" says the older lady.....
